  1. Travis Green deserves to be the whipping boy and it’s well justified.
  2. Green’s benching/ice-time reduction of Garland in the two games prior to last night’s game was completely non sensical......unless I’m missing something?
  3. Braden Schneider is likely close to being unmovable at this point but I think he’s still attainable (albeit, it would take a hefty offer).
  4. If the Canucks can somehow get Zac Whitecloud, I’ll change my handle nic to Zac Browncloud.
  5. edit - removed Klimovich [proposal] Canucks-Sabres-Rangers Canucks get: -Braden Schneider -Dylan Cozens Sabres get: -Elias Pettersson -Patrick Nemeth -minor Rangers addition Rangers get: -Jack Eichel
  6. Nice thought but the Wings say no. Having said that, I think Braden Schneider of the Rangers *might* be attainable. Guys like Seider and Dobson though, no chance.
  7. Game 5 in 2011 against San Jose. We watched the game at the CBC on W. Georgia and Hamilton. The fans were crazy and the atmosphere was electric. Even though San Jose was up 2-1 with less than 2 minutes ago, I, for whatever reason, felt very confident that we were going to tie it up. Of course, We were shocked and cheered when Kesler actually did score, but still... :-p. Then, the Bieksa goal happened and everyone went nuts. I was high fiving random strangers and vice-versa. We accidentally caught the wrong sky train and was going south on the Canada line to Richmond, but the people were going crazy. Went back North and more craziness on the skytrain as people were drinking and doing shots on the sky train and cheering. Finally got on the correct Millennium line and even more craziness. A tourist who was visiting from Wisconsin was completely blown away (in a good way) by the atmosphere and asked me if the city was always like this? We met with the rest of our boys near Edmonds skytrain and partied the whole night.

  9. Here is what I’m considering IF things continue this way: 1) Fire Green and hire Claude Julien. Do this immediately. 2) Trade deadline: If both the Canucks and Sabres are out of playoff contention at the trade deadline, trade both Pettersson and Boeser to Buffalo for Jack Eichel. Overall cap savings = slightly over 3 million. 3) At season’s end, Sutter and Motte take a walk and yes I’m a poet and didn’t even know it. 4) Re-sign both Miller and Horvat Next season: Miller-Eichel-Hoglander Pearson-Horvat-Garland Bailey-Dickinson-Podkolzin Highmore-Lammiko-Dowling OEL-Myers Hughes-Poolman Rathbone-Burroughs Demko Dipietro
  10. @GB5 @canuck73_3 You guys realize that this isn’t *my* way of thinking right? I was estimating as to what was going through JQ’s mind at the time and so I hope you took that into consideration before giving me those ‘roughgame’ and ‘wut’ reactions.
  11. Trust me, you’re preaching to the choir. I completely agree. My post that you quoted received a few ‘rough game’ and ‘wut’ responses but those aren’t my thoughts. Those are my estimation of what was going through JQ’s selfish mind. @Highstickin
  12. And I hate to say this in the current climate, but Quennville with Florida.
  13. -They are legitimately trying to win, yet the systems that green has taught are just Endlessly Failing which has resulted in the Players Having Tuned Him Out
  14. Was Kyle Beach really one of "his" players though? Beach was an AHL'er during the 2010 cup run was he not? Agreed that Quennville is an awful human being, but my guess is that Quenville would have acted very differently had it been one of his main roster players. My guess is that JQ considered the Beach situation a distraction since Beach was "just an AHL player."
  15. He's an awful human being but one of the best coaches of all-time. Will be interesting to see if he gets another gig.
  16. As a Canucks fan, I never liked guys like Toews, Kane, et al., but I always respected them for their insane hockey abilities. Any shred of respect that I had for these guys is completely out the window now.
  17. As a Canucks fan that watched the Canucks’ playoffs between 2009 and 2013 and the type of biased refereeing that we were subjected to, it also reconfirms my belief that the NHL is deeply corrupt. How the NHL and Chicago Blackhawks tried to keep this situation under wraps is beyond reprehensible.
  18. Just watched it. I regret almost every single thing that I’ve said in this thread. To those that I inadvertently offended, I apologize a second time.
  19. Did they know "what was happening," or did they eventually find out (circa 2010 playoffs or end of 2010 season) as to what had happened? If the players knew what was happening (which I don't suspect was the case), then they should be met with severe consequences. If the players knew what had happened, then I do believe them when they say that they thought the situation had been taken care of (i.e. Aldrige being forced to resign). Boynton and Sopel claim that the Hawks knew what had happened, but do they argue that the Hawks players knew the full extent? For me - I still think the players are innocent for the most part. It's ownership and maybe even Quennville that deserve to be in deep $&!# here.
  20. Do we know which players were chirping Beach, or if Beach was in fact being chirped? I've been reading things from Sopel and Boynton, and while they say that the players knew what had happened (as opposed to what was happening.....big difference), I don't see a quote anywhere that says that Beach was being chirped. Perhaps I overlooked it, but if any of you guys see quotes of this, please link me.
  21. It's just my gut feeling that but I'm inclined to believe that the Blackhawk players would have kicked the living $&!# out of Aldrich had they known what he had done to Kyle Beach. Especially a guy like Byfuglien. These Hawk players are even admitting they heard whispers of inappropriate conduct, but had no idea to the extent of what was actually going on. Hence, they thought the situation was dealt with when Aldrich was forced to resign. It's the Owners and Executives that are at major fault here. https://info.hockeyfeed.com/nhl-news/former-nhler-brent-sopel-reveals-more-damning-evidence-against-blackhawks "The team allegedly dismissed Aldrich in the 2010 offseason, granting him a job reference which he used to get a similar coaching role in the NCAAA. Alrdrich would be arrested and convicted of sexually assaulting a member of that team in 2013.
  22. I do feel terrible for Beach and what he went through. I will say another controversial thing and I hope that people can respect me for my honesty here. As much as I dislike guys like Kane, Toews, and Keith due to their hockey rivalry with the Canucks, I'm of the belief that they didn't know the full extent of what was going on. I just don't. Color me stupid but Pat Kane actually came across as genuine in his interview to me. Even Duncan Keith. Toews came across as cold but that's more of his personality I think. (Unless Beach came out and said that he was being bullied by the players and that everyone knew what was going on, in which case, negate the above). For me, Chicago ownership and executives are the ones to blame. I feel like they cared more about revenue and negative publicity rather than Kyle Beach and so they tried to keep things under wraps.
  23. Why? Unlike you and your buddies at HF, I do not pretend to be smarter than NHL GM's and Executives. I'm here to learn and admitted that my original post was ignorant and that people react to situations differently.
