  1. To San Jose: -Hamonic -Pearson -Motte To Vancouver: -E.Kane -Meloche E.Kane-Pettersson-Boeser Miller-Horvat-Hoglander Podkolzin-Dickinson-Garland Bailey-Lammiko-Dowling OEL-Myers Hughes-Poolman Burroughs-Meloche Demko Halak
  2. Thanks man. Good point about Myers. Looking at those lines that I created, I’d try and re-arrange them in such a way so that Garland, Hoglander, and Keller would play on separate lines so that we avoid being too small on any one line. Horvat, Miller, and Dickinson would also play on separate lines. On the other hand, Petey and Boeser are probably softer than all three of Hoglander, Keller, and Garland and so it might be a moot point anyways. I’ve also always liked Horvat with Boeser and so I’d probably reunite them. Hoglander-Horvat-Boeser Miller-Pettersson-Keller Podkolzin-Dickinson-Garland
  3. [proposal] Canucks and Coyotes - The Winter Blockbuster To Arizona: -Tanner Pearson (3.25 million) -Tyler Myers (6 million) -2022 1st -Sutter -Ferland To Vancouver: -Clayton Keller (7.15 million) -Ilya Lyibushkin (1.35 million / RD) Why AZ does this: Another 1st round pick for their future Reduce their long term liabilities with the Keller contract. I know that the Yotes want to build around their young players but I’m not sure if they’d be currently willing to pay Keller that much for that long right now. Chychrun right now, for example, is probably more or less what the Coyotes have in mind in terms of long term contracts. I could be wrong here, but I think AZ might be happy to find a taker for Keller. Why the Canucks do this: They get an established young asset that can help them both short term and long term The Canucks will still have another offensive weapon just incase the Canucks part ways with one of Miller or Boeser in the future Keller, like Miller, can play center if need be. 4. Agreed I overreacted. Petey is coming back into form and so he can stay.
  5. Probably *way* too early to say, but Cole Sillinger has 4 goals and 2 assists in 10 games so far this season. Ill admit that he wasn’t really on my radar (I was a Guenther guy), but Sillinger is looking pretty good right now.
  6. So.....for someone to state that Dickinson has been a bust so far or hasn’t played anywhere near up to expectations is a sign that one hasn’t played competitive hockey or pro sports. With respect, sounds to me like “some people around here” haven’t played hockey, competitive sports of any kind, or taken a logic 101 course in primary school.
  7. They’re not wrong imo. Dickinson has been a huge bust so far. He is both offensively and defensively inferior to Brandon Sutter, and defensively inferior to Jay Beagle. Beagle and Sutter could win face offs and kill penalties.
  8. Just as bad as the Sabres and Wings except those guys beat us. Canucks can’t afford to be cocky right now.
  9. As part of a firesale perhaps. Granted though, Canucks would likely need to add a 2022 1st to entice Chicago (so something like Hamonic + 2022 1st for Murphy and 2022 2nd).
  10. If we’re competitive and we want to move Hamonic, the guy that I want is Connor Murphy out of Chicago if possible. Big, youngish, physical, and is signed to a good contract. If Chicago decides to have a firesale at some point, he’s the first guy that I’d inquire about.
  11. Fair enough. One thing I’d suggest is to Atleast keep the Podkolzin-Dickinson-Garland line in tact. That line seems to be really gaining some traction.
  12. You know which Canadian team is REALLY good this year? The Flames. They look a lot like their 2004-2007 selves thanks to Darryl Sutter. The whole team is tenacious on the puck and plays very stingy defense. They are more dangerous than the Oilers in my opinion.
  13. I wasn’t sure as I’m not overly familiar with the player.
  14. Dermott is a clear up grade over Hamonic is he not? I like this idea but would the Leafs go for this? As far as your line combos go, I don’t like them. One thing that has killed the Canucks so far this year is Green’s constant tinkering of lines.
  15. 1) Pettersson for Pierre Luc Dubois 2) Boeser for Laine 3) Hamonic and 2022 1st for Connor Murphy and 2022 2nd Miller-PLD-Laine Pearson-Horvat-Garland Hoglander-Dickinson-Podkolzin Motte-Lammiko-Bailey OEL-Murphy Hughes-Poolman Schenn-Myers Demko Halak
  16. I guess you’re leaving the Boeser for Laine proposal for me then right? :-p As far as your proposal goes, I don’t mind it I guess but I don’t really think it’s an issue that really needs fixing as Schenn and Hamonic have looked decent as our 3rd pairing.....although Harrington and Hamonic (or Poolman) would be an upgrade.
  17. Will have to agree on this. Although the Virtanen pick ended up being a whiff, we still got 4 seasons and 100 goals out of Jake which basically equates to low 2nd round or very high 3rd round calibre. Bust, but still something tangible. Juolevi was an off the charts bust. It’s sad because I do think injures derailed him significantly, but he also knew what expectations were when coming into camp this season and he didn’t deliver. Having said that, if we are looking to make amends for 2016, then I would suggest that we make the following trades: 1) Pettersson for Pierre Luc Dubois 2) Boeser++ for Matthew Tkachuk
  18. A Boeser+ for Tkachuk deal if the Flames are still having thoughts of moving on from MT. Tkachuk-PLD-Garland Miller-Horvat-Podkolzin Pearson-Dickinson-Hoglander Motte-Lammiko-Bailey OEL-Myers Hughes-Poolman Schenn-Hamonic Demko Halak
  19. Honestly wondering what this team would look like if Dubois and Laine replaced Petey and Boeser. Miller-PLD-Laine Pearson-Horvat-Hoglander Podkolzin-Dickinson-Garland Motte-Lammiko-Bailey OEL-Myers Hughes-Poolman Schenn-Hamonic Demko Halak
  20. Was also thinking last night about a Canucks-Canadiens deal that would see Petey and Brock head over to Montreal for Dvorak, Anderson, a 2023 1st, and a good prospect. Both Anderson and Dvorak are signed Long term and lower cap hits than Petey and Brock collectively, and so the Canucks could try and use that cap space to upgrade their top pairing RD at some point. Collectively, Anderson and Dvorak would make us a lot bigger up front and would make us more difficult to play against come playoff time.
  21. Ahhh just re-read it. Yes, that could happen, as it did to Ottawa and Mark Stone, but the Sens just ended up trading Stone to a sign and trade and received young assets in return. To my understanding however, most pending RFA’s don’t completely screw over their teams like that unless the team is truly free falling. Having said that, both of you are right. There would be that added risk involved in trading for a guy like PLD.
  22. That’s what I’m thinking as well. I think a better solution for this team would be in changing the coach rather than trading Petey but I can’t help but wonder..... 23. PLD will still be an RFA. https://www.capfriendly.com/players/pierre-luc-dubois
