  1. A vocal stutter? More like, A mental stutter. Lol. ...since when does a “stutter” make one forget what they’re talking about so often as him and thus change subjects and wonder off mid sentences? I feel bad for the guy. And worse for the few apologists like you out in the world trying to cover up for his crystal clear cognitive decline. Surely you haven’t had a friend or a person close to you that actually has a stutter because it’s totally different than the quote on quote, “stutter”, Biden has. Let me tell you: it’s not it. Or. It can’t be the only thing going on. But then again don’t trust me; hear it from the guy himself in the ^above^ video. He’s suffered medically and continues to.
  2. Yes, it’s all edited. Every single video...
  3. Brodin is an elite defensive dman, he allows many of the Wild dmen to roam in the offensive zone. Think Tanev but twice the player. And as I said, Pietrangelo a FA at the wrong time. Time will tell us but I find it hard to believe he gets $10M in this climate. Brodin went from ~$7.5M -> $6M. My bet is Pietrangelo goes from $10M -> ~$8.5Mish...and again, it’s unfortunate for the player (especially higher end ones) because teams just don’t have enough top dollars to give around this off season. Just like how Marky was penciled in to make $7M+ mill and now he’ll be fortunate if a team offers him $6.5M. I guess he’s lucky he wouldn’t be worth more because that’d equal those many more dollars lost / not being a high end enough of a price tag.
  4. I see where you’re coming from but disagree. If St. Louis let’s him walk to FA, it’s not because they don’t want to pay him - it’s because they can’t afford to under the current salary. COVID/flat cap has made if difficult for all teams to manage their financial situation while retaining certain players heading into the next couple seasons. All teams expected a cap increase and use it part of their planning. Now that it’s gone, teams across the board will face this problem - some to a bigger extent than others but no doubt a problem nonetheless. example: Canucks realistically can’t afford to pay Marky more than $5.75M but if he walks, he may get $6M-$7M in the open market. St. Louis on the other hand currently only have $5M in cap space. They’re royally screwed cap wise and have to sign a dman to dress just 6. As it stands, they’re in tough to pay Pietrangelo even something like $7M when he should be getting $8M min. That’s a $1M to start whereas the Canucks and Marky are off by a couple hundred thousand / so you can clearly see what I meant by some teams have cap problems to a bigger extent than others. And in Pietrangelo’s case, he can realistically command around $8M-$9M in this current flat cap environment because like the Blues, all teams are strapped on funds available to splash. This is why I don’t see him getting the $10M he would’ve otherwise got in a normal roll over season with cap incrementally increasing. Look at Brodin, he settled for $6M which is a bargain. Should have signed for $7M+ if it weren’t for the current financial climate across the league. Just my $0.02 :]
  5. This is why I propose we go after/sign Pietrangelo. Letting Marky walk in order to sign him is essentially the trade.
  6. Sure, don’t mind giving him $9m. Brodin has already showed the market is down signing for less than he otherwise would have. Greiss is 34 and doesn’t play a starters workload. Not to mention the goalie market is a surplus especially for aging, non sure fire starters. Greiss would be lucky to get offered a contract like that at this point in his career. Tanev won’t sign for $5.25M if he wants to stay in Vancouver. And he wants to stay in Vancouver. So maybe in the open market he’d get that. Eriksson is owed $5M in real dollars over the next 2 years which is relatively cheap and would help them reach the floor. $2.5M per year payday for a $6M per cap hit would be very cost effective for them. They’ve done worse deals and Virtanen fits the direction their going being a young 20 goal scorer with RFA control.
  7. Tru, may have to up to $9m but he won’t get $10M strictly because of the timing he’s a UFA with covid/the flat cap. Teams can’t afford to pay that much this off season being tight on cap as is.
  8. 1) sign Pietrangelo 7x$8M 2) sign Greiss 3x$2.5M for 1A/1B duo and as goalie to expose to Seattle 3) re-sign Toffoli 5x$5M 4) re-sign Tanev 3x$4.5M 5) trade Virtanen+Chatfield+2021 3rd to Sens for offloading Eriksson 6) maybe bring back a familiar face like Richardson in FA as depth if needed for cheap Solid all around lineup & lots of youth in the system ready to make the jump in the coming years and/or for injury insurance. Miller • Petey • Boeser Pearson • Bo • Toffoli Roussel • Sutter • Leivo Motte • Beagle • Richardson Gaudette (MacEwen/Lind/Gadjovich/Jasek/Lockwood/Hoglander) Edler • Pietrangelo Hughes • Tanev Benn • Myers Stecher, Fantanberg (Rafferty/Juolevi/Rathbone/Brisebois/Woo) Greiss • Demko Domingue (DiPietro) ...bring on the Cup run(s) !
  9. Oh, I didn’t mean $ in the sense of what it’d take but salary. As for trade price, would be mutually beneficial for both sides in a hypothetical Brock-for-Dumba deal. Occasional inter division trades do happen and if there’s a time more than ever they’d happen again, it’s now with COVID/flat cap/expansion draft on horizon, especially when it fits both teams needs and would be a hometown kid going the other way...now I’m not saying we should or shouldn’t do that, just the hypothetical.
  10. Huh, isn’t this a Dumba thread? I would love to get Dumba, a true modern day 2way defenseman. Unlike Barrie who sucks in his own end and would cost more $. Now clue why anyone would take that over a premier dman like Matt Dumba!
  11. It’s a bargain signing. Minny inked him now and not next summer (when his current contract expires) for a reason which your very own reasons prove. You can see they found a way to get this done early and utilized covid/the flat in their favour. If the latter is not the case, no reason why Brodin settles for anything less of $7m AAV. So yea, no. They definitely got a bargain here. If you’re going to “specifically” talk production, then using vanilla surface categories like assists and goals shows you’re out of your depth here. It’s almost as relevant as +/- for defenders. Advanced analytics show Brodin provides way more offense for his team and I’m pretty sure he and his agent + the Wild aren’t dumb enough not to know something as simple as that. Again using just generic surface stats like that shows you don’t really know what you’re on about especially considering the supporting cast both respective players have had to work with over their careers. ...with all due respect but zero drama on my end & that was actually my first post in the thread. Just wanted to chime in after seeing your ill-advised posts imo and many others. If anything you’re the one attempting to look down on others (vast majority of others) and make a mountain out of a molehill who simply disagree with what you’ve said. If it was up to me and I were you, I’d enjoy knowing others have a difference of opinion other than mines and in this case, most likely the correct opinions. And there’s nothing wrong in that!
  12. @Robert Long are you honestly that blind to not see that Brodin >>> Tanev in literally every way possible (offensively, defensively, availability, age, etc - you name it). Despite Tanev being 3+ years older Brodin has more GP than him and thus far more reliable. Not a knock on Tanev but insinuating Brodin’s extension has any implications on Tanev’s next contract is bonkers. As certain others have said, trying to group the 2 together would be the equivalent of grouping Getzlaf-Crosby or a Backstrom-Mackinnon or a Toffoli-Rantanen...there’s such a clear and obvious gap in tiers/value it’d be like saying a green light + yellow light on the road are both the same things.
  13. The user has a point though. Security cameras won’t stop a perpetrator nor does it guarantee them being discovered. Security is a pretty straight forward solution that would deter such people far more effectively than just some cameras.

  15. Hi c2x, I would like to ask what exactly counts as “first and second year NHL players”. Is there a GP threshold and if so, is it for each season individually or does it count as some grand total including both seasons? ...was just looking at my roster and couldn’t really tell with a guy like Heinola if he’s (he will be) exempt or not. A response would be much appreciated:]
  16. Panthers waive Sutter & send down Wahlstorm
  17. Slabhead’s first taste of the playoffs...you just know he’s a warrior that shows up that time of season. @Sane33 tos his playoff stats pls + hits count lol
  18. Create-a-players have all contracted COVID and are now dead
  19. Panthers release Joe Pavelski+Victor Rask to FA + recall Oliver Wahlstrom
  20. Flyers = Canucks east 9 shots through 2 periods...don’t get many pucks through net
  21. So proud of this team for making it this far in the playoffs...but my God what a shameful performance this game 7 Everyone except Demko+Motte should take a long look at themselves in the mirror tonight. How do you allow this to happen 3 games in a row. Thatcher has a below 1GAA ffs !!!!!!
