We wouldn't of had to trade a first round pick away if Benning was more savvy with his signings. I would say that qualifies as going horribly wrong.

It's about the big picture my friend, not just Poolman individually.

This thread is about the Poolman signing, no? I understand Benning has had plenty of blunders, no one is denying that, but this isn’t a Loui 6 x 6 we’re talking about here. It’s a 2.5 million dollar contract. This isn’t a signing that’s gonna put us in a hole, and we’re not gonna have to potentially pay a 1st to get rid of it. I think most people are just tired of the negative always being the first thought. What if Tucker ends up being a bargain down the road? Well worth his contract? I just don’t get why that can’t be the perspective of lots of folks around here.

2.5.... meh not that bad! 3 million each for Beagle and Roussel? Meh not that bad!!

It's definitely easy to see how this signing could go horribly wrong in a fee years for sure.

Lmaoo horribly wrong? That’s more than a little bit dramatic. It’s 2.5 mil, this contract is being blown way out of proportion.

Can't help but lol at all the folks who still thought Raty was a high pick. Gotta be honest, I thought he would still find his way into the end of the first round.

How are you feeling about our picks/lack there of?

All we need is a 4C and we are going to the playoffs….

That’s a real nice forward corps

Arizona Fans are pissed it’s not a bad deal i think you can get out ek contract just on his rep if he’s bad but there’s no way you can have Schmidt Hughes Myers ek in top 5 or demko will ask for a trade

You’ve clearly run out of stuff to complain about mate. This is gonna upset Demko? Lmao

It can also be a product of starting them at a young age. When you're like three years old and right-hand dominant, your left hand is basically useless. So when little kids run around with a small hockey stick, they grip the top with their right hand so they can have some control over the stick, sealing their fate as a left-handed shot.

Makes sense. It’s weird, I shoot left, golf right, and switch hit in baseball, although my dad drilled that into me from an early age.

They took a hit is all on D. Same boat as us now on defense. Their forward group took a huge step forward.

Yeah but they didn’t need another player to play on their top line, they needed better depth pieces all over their lineup, and just an overall more solid d corp. Not to mention they’re banking on a 39 year old Mike Smith to have another good year, which I hope fails miserably.

Yall realize the oilers got a real good player and the oilers are still in our division. This improves them quite a bit.

On D, where they actually needed improvement, they got significantly worse. I think there’s an argument to be made that they will be as good as they were last year, but I wouldn’t call them an improved team.

If Edler leaves and Schmidt is still here, he's likely one of our Alternate Captains. You need someone who can keep things light.

While I don’t necessarily agree in regards to him being an alternate captain, I do agree that it’s good to have personalities like him. People keep saying that his attitude rubs people the wrong way, which I can’t really understand. We gotta be the most boring team in the league if Nates personality is deemed a bad thing.

Lind is on the cusp of breaking into the NHL and he might get a decent chance with Seattle.

I wonder if he plays 30-40 games next season he might put up 15-20 points, then be a 20-goal scorer 40 point player the following season.

That’s a pretty generous projection. Nothing that he showed last year suggests he’ll even be an NHL regular, let alone a 20 goal scorer in less than two years. I could be totally off base, just seems high to me.
