Then why assume he can’t bring those same elements in the playoffs?

I doubt his puck pursuit and ability to drive play would suddenly change.

While I don’t necessarily agree with that Swedish line, I do agree that Hog is anything but soft. The guy battles every shift, doesn’t matter how big the opposing player is, you rarely see him lose puck battles. I doubt that would change in the playoffs.

What would be the cost I wonder.... Decent mentor for Pod

    Just spitting FOR FUN

Miller, Boeser and 9th overall? (Canucks fans will call his an overpayment, and WSH fans will prob call this an underpayment and not enough)

    Boeser Hog 9th overall?

    Miller Hog 9th overall?

    Miller, 9th overall, 2nd round 2022?

Miller and 2 x 2nds? (I would actually heavily consider this one, but its prob not enough)

I gotta be honest, these are pretty bad. He ain’t worth anything near that much. Even Washington fans would take that first trade without question. It’s literally 2/3rds of our top line lol.

He played centre except for face offs because Miller was better at face off's that's not unusual. What was unusual was the way Miller took his face offs ( I think others are catching on ) he frequently takes his face off on the fore hand and he really slashes his opponents stick first off. I take time time and interest in Millers face off technic LOL

This is something I’ve noticed as well. He takes face offs like he’s ticked off lol

Not top 6? I said 3rd line, he would be a 17 -20 goal guy playing as much as Pearson...

    Motte 24 yrs old -  GP 24 - G 6   -- PTS  8     - 4th line and PK

Pearon 28 yrs old -GP 51 - G 10-- PTS 18   - Playing with Horvat - 2nd PP --- 2nd line --16 min -TOI - Big trouble if Pearson is playing with Horvat..

Pearson has to be on 3rd line... ...Horvat needs talented wingers,

My mistake, read that as having motte in the top 6. Regardless I still think it’s a stretch to have him at 20 goals. Agree that it would be nice to have Pearson on the 3rd line, would mean that we have some good depth. I think having Pod in the lineup will be a good boost to the top 6. He’ll be a good match with Horvat.

I am going to wait until the final rankings to see what others are thinking.

I have a hunch Ceulemans will be closer tothe top 10 then he is now.

I am on the fence .......McTavish, Lysell, Svechkov, Ceulemans, Johnson

IMO, we go after compete level or skill

Lyell, Johnson and Ceulemens are skill (Offensive players)

McTavish and Svechkov are compete players (200 ft games)

After listening to Benning, he wants skill and speed

I think if we stick at the 9 spot, Lysell or Ceulemans will be our pick, unless one of the big names drop.

You need to have a top line very strong spreading your top 6 into 3 lines not a smart move?

Look at Oilers and Colorado?? Say no more??????

    1.Miller {24 -28G }-  Petey {30 G } - Hoglander { 20G }

    2.Podkolzin  { 19G }- { Horvat 24 - 28G } -Boeser 26-30 G

    3.Pearson{ G16 -19}   ______          Motte {17 -20 G }Speed

Possibly 6 guys with 20 or more goals..Need a speedy #3 C with some talent or a  #2 winger like Hoffman 32 next season,

    6 seasons between 22- 36 goals ..This past season GP 52 - 17 G  -- 36 points ... At 32 yrs old you don't want a long contract..

    Last season 1 yr X 4 million...

Hoping for 20 goals for Motter is extremely wishful thinking. Don’t get me wrong, I love him as a player, but if he’s a mainstay in our top 6 then we are in big trouble.

Johnson is appealing, but if I had to choose between Lysell, McTavish or Johnson. Johnson would be my 3rd option. He's highly skilled, but doesn't effect the game unless the puck is on his stick. Lysell is a ball of fire, he reminds me of Hansen on the forecheck, not too high on his shot, but he is a supremely skilled player with high puck pursuit and McTavish is a very smart player in every facet of the game, has a great shot, can play multiple positions and apparently from what ppl say has great work ethic and character. Very excited for this offseason.

Lysell seems like a JB style player. I could see us taking him at 10 even if some other players happen to drop. Not that I want it to happen but I could see it.

So far I agree, he could be anywhere from Motte to Hoglander. Save him for the 2nd round, if he's still there, which I doubt.

Say the Canucks end up picking 10th again. Should they trade the 10th for two later 1st rounders? Maybe grab L'Heureux and Morrow?

I just feel like we have more pressing needs than a physical player. Rhd and another play making center need to be addressed. From the sounds of it L’Heureux sounds like a max jones type, which I’d rather stay far far away from with our 1st.

I'm not as into it as some. I only know what I hear. This is what I hear:

    Zachary LHeureux

    Ht/Wt: 5'11"/196 lbs
    Position: C/LW
    Team: Halifax (QMJHL)

    Zachary L'Heureux's Player Profile

Cam Robinson - Dobber Prospects - : "Something of a Richard out there, L’Hereaux walks the line between hard play and needless aggression. He screams checking line type."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - Jan. 23rd: "L'Heureux is a power forward who has been compared to Columbus Blue Jackets forward Max Domi. The 17-year-old can play physical and has great hands."

Craig Button - TSN - Dec. 15th: "Can play the game with skill, power and with an edge. Competes hard and makes life uncomfortable for opponents due to his willingness to find ways past obstacles."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Nov. 27th: "Plays bigger than his 5-foot-11, 196-pound size."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - Oct. 8th: "He makes himself noticeable whenever he’s on the ice and creates so much about the hard areas. He’s an imperfect player, though. At 5-foot-11, he’s an average skater, and I don’t think he sees the game that well."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Sept. 14th: "He’s heavy on the puck, he doesn’t pass up a chance to finish a hit, he gravitates toward scrums, and he can beat you with ingenuity and creativity with the puck, which gives him, in theory, all situations upside and the kind of versatility teams covet as a player who could potentially play up and down the lineup."

Brayden Olafsson - Dobber Prospects - Sept. 12th: "L’Heureux is a dynamic power forward who has the ability to generate opportunities as a result of his combined creativity and physical presence. He leverages a surprisingly strong lower body and low center of gravity to overpower his bigger opponents when necessary."

Craig Button has him at 18

Like I said, just a 'Dark Horse' candidate.

Sounds like a hard pass for our first rounder. Would take a chance in the second.

How much do you spend on supporting the Canucks every year.?? By purchasing tickets I'm investing in the club and frankly have certain expectations. When I attend a game I have an expectation of receiving back some entertainment value. Why would anyone attend and think to themselves Oh!! we lost again wasn't that great. The NHL ( including the Canucks) sell their product to fans but in Vcr case, don't come through. The franchise has great value and that's in large due to the attendance they draw. You may not remember this but it wasn't that long ago the Canucks were exploring a different location ..... because the support was so poor ... it could happen again. Currently FA makes a profit and that's why he continues to hold on to it, .... yes a profit. The Canucks have a current value ( 10th in the league) of US$ 725 million and a revenue of US$ 146 million. FA is not out with his begging bowl of East Hastings

Here’s an idea, I’d you don’t like the product they’re putting out, then stop putting your money in. It’s not their fault that you decide to spend money on their product. It’s pretty straight forward.

These guys don’t owe you squat.

I just gave you a series of events that have happened which can be reasonably taken as "unhappy".  Yeah, the players didn't come out and say "I'm unhappy" but it doesn't take a genius to read in between the lines.

    Do better.

Nothing that you said leads me to believe the players are unhappy with management, to the point of requesting trades

    And why is that?

All he said is that he has reason to believe players are not happy.  All season, players have been taking shots at the management.  J.T Miller basically pleaded to get games rescheduled after the COVID outbreak.  Hughes went on record multiple times to discuss how the team was missing Tanev.  When was that last time we heard anything on Elias Pettersson or from Elias Pettersson?  A day-to-day injury that's now become months with no end in sight.  Something has obviously gone wrong there.

No, this report is not "100%" factual (yet) but we have no reason to doubt his info.

What does Miller’s view on how the league dealt with our Covid outbreak have to do with him being displeased with management?

Guys lose teammates all the time, it’s the nature of the business. Yeah it sucks, but if guys requested trades every time they lost a teammate, the league would turn into the nba with players flipping teams nonstop.

Why would Petey be upset about the nucks being quiet about his injury? Does he want his injury out there as common knowledge?

I’m just asking for some tangible evidence of players being upset, not tweets of random dudes voicing their opinions as fact. It’s really not a big ask.
