He literally played ONE game with Vegas. Played a year with their farm team and did pretty much nothing. No NHL team had interest in him so he went back home.

Of course his concussions derailed his career. He was never the same player since.

What you say doesnt even make sense. If concussion 1) stopped him from playing or 2) affected his performance, he would have retired already. What happened was once Baertschi came back from his injury, Benning immediately shut him down. Either thinking Baertschi is too soft or not offensive enough to take a top 6 spot. Baertschi demands a trade. After that, Baertschi goes on to play 2 seasons in the AHL where concussions happen a lot too.

You want to see where a real concussion derailed a career? Ferland.

Always liked Sven, wish the concussions hadn't taken such a toll during his time here. Hope he can stay healthy for however long he decides to keep playing back home.

Stop with the propaganda lol. The truth is Benning didn't want to play him anymore and shut the gate on him. He went on to play seasons in the AHL and signed with the Golden Knights now 3 years in Switzerland, sound like someone with concussion problems that cant play hockey?

Always had a soft spot for Baertschi. Too bad teams don't think he is a NHL regular.

The moment you see Lammikko as your 2nd line centre you know full well what your team is lacking compared to the elite teams and where they're lacking.

Actually Lammikko wasnt even cracking Florida's lineup before he got traded. And we have been overplaying him on the 3rd line. Goes on to describe our lineup.

Only 7 defencemen in the NHL have more points than Hughes. That’s not A LOT.

Only 4 defencemen have more points than Letang. He is still an elite defencman.  Letang is definitely not stale.

JR traded a 3rd round pick for Travis Dermott who is a borderline NHL Dman. Maybe grandpa has lost his touch.

Not sure what you are trying to argue. JR wanted to move on from Letang obviously because he thinks he is too old. Logically thinking, he wont be coming to Vancouver.

Hughes is 10th in dmen scoring. Considering there's 32 teams only, that is a lot. Number of goals, he is not even top 50.

When you look at how Tkachuk's contract was structured you can bet he will be asking for the moon this off season. His QO will have to be 9 mil or more unless the club takes him to arbitration. I am expecting him to sign somewhere North of 10 mil on a long contract.

? Top 5 Right Wing in the league asking for 9-10mil, there's nothing wrong with that.

  6. And now the final word is how horrible this pick was. We had the safe and everyone thought we would pick Tkachuk, but Benning pulls the rabbit out of the hat and tried the genius move of going for Juolevi. Every year, someone was there to defend this pick saying Juolevi will develop and get there. Tkachuk is now top 10 in NHL points. For all the praise of Benning's drafting, this pick alone cancels out a lot of good because how obvious and expected it was to draft Tkachuk.

Retooling is fine, but retooling doesn't mean taking short cuts. Teams have retooled successfully in recent years.

St. Louis basically retooled when they won their Cup, so did the Caps, the Bruins, and Penguins.

Retooling is not fine. Doesn't work, lying to yourself and a waste of time. The teams you have mentioned all were cup winners. If you retool with a cup winner core, sure anyone can accept that. It's actually more like cap management for those teams since they have to shed the roster after their cup wins because their UFAs will want to sign for more.

Why talk about other teams? We have plenty of history with retooling here in Vancouver. 23 year old Linden Vey is on the market!? Let's part with our 2nd. 20 year old Pedan? Here take our 3rd. Omg a young Gudbranson!

You get the idea. The inability to learn from past mistake and history and still advocating for it... /facepalm.

Yikes. That must feel awful knowing that you are THAT disliked by other people, but it also begs the question as to how many people disliked Hamonic, or why this story came out, as if to justify the trade.

You new here? Canucks always justifies a trade.

Remember Kassian with tennis balls on his back. Or Hodgson's dad request.

Been theorizing Aquilini employs a small group of internet trolls.

Which center on the farm would you like to see us give a chance to?

    I’ll wait.

Also this literally cost us nothing.

Uhhh... no need to wait, dont want to waste your chess playing time.

For example, if we are trading away Miller our center depth looks like Pettersson/Horvat/Dickinson/Lammikko/Petan/Dries.

I'd much rather give an AHL who worked their butts off some games in the NHL then a 37 year old Richardson who is probably retiring in 2 months.

Yeah. Signing Miller to a long term deal probably doesn’t set the team up for excellence in the long term.

We need young players, Ned a huge haul right now, and the only player that’ll get us that is Miller.

I think Garland is gone before Monday. I think Brock’s probably gone as well. Miller maybe too. Just because there’s nothing being heard by the experts, doesn’t mean talk isn’t happening. JR and PA seems to run a very tight lipped ship. Rarely any rumors that we’re hearing, and all the media are fishing in terms of what they’re hearing.

except... the teams still there to buy players are almost gone.

Carolina, Pittsburgh, NYR, Washington, Colorado, St Louis, Toronto (but the deal will suck) still being buyers. I could easily see more than half of these teams just not buy and go with their current roster.
