The new management has been throwing some subtle shade at the way this team is built....and I love it -

Nah, still young and developing. It's a bit of a concern and a disappointment that he isn't considered for a call up but definitely not a bust yet -
Gaudette only played 16 games in the AHL, he was another example of rushing a player who should of spent more time developing. MacEwen was developed well but has made his way to the bigs with a fighting skillset, not exactly something the coaches are helping him along with. Demko yeah, that's it. Flames: Kylington 120ish AHL games Mangiapane 120 games R. Andersson 110 games Dube 56 games Lomberg(FLA) undrafted, over 200 AHL and ECHL, Hathaway(WSH) undrafted 160 games in the AHL both developed by the flames Gaudreau 4th round pick Ferland 5th round pick Fox(NYR) 3rd round pick Mangiapane 6th round pick Dube, Andersson, Kylington all LATE 2nd round picks (53, 55, 60) These late picks are why they had money to acquire all our god damn UFA's The Stockton Heat are 29-8 this year led in scoring by a 6th round pick, 23 year old Matthew Philips right behind 20 year old Pelletier who has 40 points in 40 games. The Abbotsford Canucks are 21-16 being led by four 26 and 27 year olds who we literally just acquired from different organizations Lind(2nd) Gadjovich(2nd) 2nd for Vey 2nd for Baertschi 2nd for Gudbranson/Pearson 2nd for 15 games of Toffoli Not a single player in our lineup from outside the top 40 of the draft Just a boat load of nothingness from our "drafting GM"

Tryamkin? Just make Dickenson and Halak disappear, then trade a top 6 forward even though we need more top 6 forwards? So yeah, this is a magic trick. Kovalchuk would skate circles around anyone on this team and would drop the gloves and show heart. Get outtta heerree -

So all we need is another top 6 forward, a top pairing D and a 3rd line C? So we'll just pull that right out of our buttholes, like a magic trick? Schenn is battling for his career every night he's out there, Myers and OEL are on the downsides of their careers. The defence needs serious help Our forwards are slow and soft and we still have none of them locked up long term, outside of Garland. This team is in trouble and very well may need to be torn down unless a miracle happens -
Let's drop the Gillis thing, what does it have to do with Benning's long list of failed trades, wasted money, lack of draft picks, poor communication, poor coaching hires and poor results? Those were two GM's hired to do different things, literally all Benning has done is drafted a few good players in the top 10 and a few in the early 2nd. If you want to compare two GM's, compare Yzerman in Detroit and Benning cause I'm pretty sure anybody would rather have a guy like Stevey-Y running their team. Yzerman accumulated more picks in 3 years than Benning does in 5. Yzerman did it by weaponizing cap, getting creative and keeping the cap low. He brought in Staal to mentor and got a 2nd round pick for taking him, same with Gagner. He moved out expiring contracts and swapped tons of picks to add quantity or quality when needed. Yzerman has never gave an FA more than a 2 year contract, Benning gave out 3 and even 4 year deals like candy to guys who basically all turned in to negative assets. Yzerman found late rounds gems in the later rounds when in Tampa, Benning hasn't done that either. Benning couldn't even build a successful AHL team, there's no prospects there, we've gone two years without a first round pick and are without a 2nd already this year. This is Benning's final product and it needs to be torn down. That is the definition of failure.

If you have a few tough guys who do this semi-regularly it trickles down to everybody else. We don't have a single forward willing, and we were down to 5 D fast tonight. Softest group of forwards I've ever seen and I feel like I say that every year with this team -

This is Benning's final product with a capped out roster, two straight years without first round picks and already missing our 2nd in this years draft and we literally need to tear most of this down -
That's garbage it's 2 each come on

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Kovalchuk replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Not sure what window people are saying we're in. A window to make the playoffs as the last seed? We're definitely not in a contending for the cup window -
We don't have skilled guys with crazy drive, speed and killer instinct and it seems like there's no chemistry out there on the PP.
