  1. The sad thing is didn’t they have a ST holder meeting when JB, Linden took over? To set out a plan…. and here we are back in the same spot
  2. ya that’s what I thought so not sure why people are saying he won’t sign
  3. Ya, I was going to put Kuz down too but I think they’ll only trade him if he rejects their offer before the deadline That being said, his agent tweeted dollar signs so it implies he will want to push to UFA
  4. what i’ve read is Laf is behind Kreider and Panarin on the left side. Kravstov has come in and played ok as well so he’s just not getting enough prime ice. They’re doing what the old Canucks used to do, get a high pick and throw him into a checking role They’re going to bust him if not careful and his value is declining, first overall means nothing once you’ve been around a couple of years. Is Kakko really the value of a second overall today? no same reason Canucks should be all over this as he would be a great first line LW and replace Bo’s scoring eventually.
  5. Oh I’m not defending him, just saying there was some major silver linings that came out of it Yup he just floated here, but him being here lead to alot of good for the Canucks in the end
  6. based on what? he’s been very vocal in the past saying he has every intention of signing in Van
  7. is there a source that Mcdonough has suggested he’s not signing here? Havent seen any
  8. There's a guy on hockey forums who does this thing called the potato rankings. Basically its as simple as taking the highest scoring players (slightly adjusting for leagues) and drafting them. Under something that simple, teams would build dynasties. Yes alot of misses but many more hits. Basically, you can't teach talent and points suggest talent, It seems scouts and gm's overthink and get in their own way. It was an interesting analysis, I wish I could find it again.
  9. So basically what you're saying is, the Canucks need to go ask the team behind them who they are taking, and take that player instead of their own pick lol
  10. Come on man, Alvin and Rutherford and their army of assistant GM's need time to assess Is this bag of poo smelly? Is it brown? What kind of poo is it? Is it really bad to have poo? Maybe bags of poo are ok? Let's bring in someone to assess the poo Then they will hire some consultants to tell them how to manage the poo in the interim This should take us into about the trade deadline next year before they realize its a bag of poo, it stinks and no one should keep a bag of poo
  11. Agree, but I think if you weigh the impact of him being here or not, I'll take those sour lemons any time if it means seeing hockey like we saw as a result..
  12. Messier caused Linden to be traded. Linden got us Bert and Mccabe. And trading Linden at that time was probably one of the best things the Canucks ever did. He was at his peak, and was never the same player after. Something the Canucks seldom do... move a player at their peak for young talent. The McCabe trade led to us getting the twins I get the hate on Messier, but his impact on the franchise was not as bad as many scream about. Both Naslund and Bert also credit him for teaching them how hard they had to compete. If Messier was never here, the West Coast Express would have never been here, the twins either, and Nazzy would never have been the same player. Alot to be thankful for.
  13. So given all the trade talk and our position in the standings, I thought it would be interesting to list the players that everyone thinks will be moved before/at the deadline. You can also put the return in the list as well (doesn't have to be specific players, you can say young RD, 2nd rounder etc) but that's not part of the results (just make a guess) Winner gets bragging rights as Canucks Site Prognosticator! My List Bo Horvat --> 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, young Dman, young winger (one of the last 2 has blue chip potential) Luke Schenn --> 2nd round pick and a 4th round pick (We will re-sign in the offseason to 2 x 1.5 mil and NMC) Kyle Burroughs--> 6th round pick Connor Garland--> 3rd round pick and a prospect I think Boeser is traded in the offseason as is Myers after he's paid his big cash bonus.
  14. Players don't really 'care' about the fans in the heat of the moment. They are elite athletes competing, its like asking Mbappe if he cares if he's cheered or boo'd he doesn't he cares about winning. That being said, Miller should, as you said, handled it better. If it were me, I would say, I was trying to get his attention, I was frustrated and probably should have managed it better, but I am trying to win. Leave it at that, short and sweet and move on.
  15. dude 98% of your posts are nonsense and this post shows you don’t read
  16. To Miller’s defence Bruce has already taken the blame for miscommunication Miller’s behavior was wrong but get the facts right
