  1. I just watched Simashev being interviewed live calling them picking Danil But. Awesome!
  2. Congratulations to Connor Bedard. And would you look at that.. 4:20! I'm going to need it.
  3. Top 10 Mock Draft 1. CHI Connor Bedard 2. ANA Matvei Michkov 3. CBJ Adam Fantilli 4. SJ Leo Carlsson 5. MTL Will Smith 6. ARZ Dalibor Dvorsky 7. PHL Zach Benson 8. WAS Ryan Leonard 9. DET Dmitri Simashev 10. STL David Reinbacher Let's Go!!!
  4. I don't usually delve too deep into the draft and its prospects, but this year was different because of the exceptional forward talent at the top of the draft. Yes, unfortunately we couldn't pick higher, but as the top forwards get snatched up, it leaves us with some interesing options on defense and center. The names floating around 11th are Oliver Moore and Nate Danielson, although they do have the potential to be taken in the top 10. Defensemen David Reinbacher and Axel Sandin-Pellikka had been top 10 options earlier in the year, but the recent play of Tom Willander and Dmitry Simashev have catapulted them into the conversation as potential Top 10 talent, creating more uncertainty in that 8 to 15 range. There is a chance some high end forwards like Matvei Michkov or Zach Benson might fall to us, in which case I don't think we can pass on. Any one of these players will address some of the issues with this team. Just don't expect that player to be the solution to all of it.
  5. I like White Spot as a relaxing option. I never seem to have trouble asking for a channel change sitting at the bar. Draft starts at 4. Happy hour ends at 5. Canucks pick should be done by then. Sounds perfect to me.
  6. With the 41st pick, Detroit selects Theodore Tugboat.
  7. Great troll job of a list though. Tugboat... Bluetooth...
  8. What I gather from this is he made his ranking and then slotted them into the draft order? The guy has a twitter account so he probably knows more than me.
  9. The guy mentions issues with Bensons skating in the chat as to why he's not ranked.
  10. I was thinking that Chicago would have some interest in Lucic for the same reason. He can continue his Canuck troll job and add the Hawks to his list. Boston. Edmonton. Calgary. Chicago? We know what you're doing, Milan.
  11. He would most definitely get consideration, and would probably get drafted ahead of Wright and the defensemen. Would Montreal draft Benson ahead of Slafkovsky?
  12. If he had played in the CHL and put up 100 pts, would you think differently of his consensus rankings? Using his Allsvensken numbers doesn't do justice to what his game and potential is about.
  13. Yes indeed those are the questions. In my unprofessional opinion, his wheelhouse, without lofty comparisons, would be a physical 2 way centerman that can provide stability to a top 6. His ceiling would be an ability to elevate his game in clutch situations, which he has shown he can do. From interviews I've seen and read, he sounds motivated to put the work in to become better defensively as well as getting stronger. The SHL is a tough place for young players to carve out a consistent role on the team, so he'll have to make due with the limited opportunities. His numbers will reflect that and put some people off as to his development path, but I wouldn't be sweating it for at least a few more years.
  14. He put up a great performance against his peers at the u18s while being one of the younger players in the tournament. His weaknesses are magnified playing against men, so a stint in the SHL with sheltered minutes could be the right stepping stone for his development. Maybe a year in the AHL after that, and he could be ready to jump into a middle 6 role depending on the team that drafts him.
  15. Not sure how reliable the sources are, but it makes sense for his development to play in the SHL.
  16. No. We're trying to build a culture opposite of what Toews was apart of with the whole Beach situation.
  17. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/bertuzzi-severson-orlov-projected-for-richest-contracts-among-top-50-free-agents These numbers were put together with analytics and data to determine their value. The article states that these projections are lower than expected and don't include certain variables involved in negotiations. Soucy is listed as 3 years x $2.5M.
  18. He deserves it, and might get that money and term on a younger team looking for a leader.
  19. 2 years at $1.25m - $1.6m is the range I would assume. I don't think TO wants to give him 7 figures and are hoping for some kind of a discount.
