  1. Oh god I forgot about that. They tested it at the 2011 Rumble where Alberto won. The one thing I remember was that it became too long and bloated with silly stuff like Hornswoggle and Cena doing lame comedy bits and Nexus taking up wayyyy too much air time. I'm glad they never did it again.
  2. I completely agree with everything above. Eespecially because I turned to my friend at about #25 and said "Honestly, this Rumble has made me realize just how bad the crop of talent is right now and just how few people they have that I actually like and/or care about winning," I'm also not 100% mad that Bryan didn't win but just where he got eliminated. If the Final 5 had been Wyatt/Ambrose/Ziggler/Reigns/Bryan, I don't think you would have had the backlash from the fans. On a side note, why does The Authority keep going to The Big Show & Kane to get the big job done when they are full blown idiots who always lose? It should go like this: Triple H: And tonight Daniel Bryan, you have to face............KAAAANE Daniel Bryan: *laughing* You mean that guy that has lost about 20 times in the last year? Okay, works for me.
  3. http://411mania.com/wrestling/how-did-wwe-react-to-the-fan-backlash-at-the-royal-rumble/ Vince McMahon and top WWE officials were said to be “legitimately surprised” at the intensity of fan backlash at the Royal Rumble PPV. WWE knew that some fans would not approve of Reigns winning instead of Daniel Bryan but didn’t expect it to get that bad. Dave Meltzer said: “They panicked early, they changed a few things. Dwayne was not happy.” Yes, even The Rock was said to be surprised by the reaction. His surprise could even be seen during his in-ring segment and post-show backstage promo on the WWE Network. Even with the #CancelWWENetwork campaign, Vince McMahon is “dead set” on sticking to Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar. WWE doesn’t plan on adding Daniel Bryan to the main event again because they did it last year. Meltzer added: “Vince feels that it would be a repeat and gone to the well one time too often.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Holy hell! You couldn't figure out that Reigns, who was getting mixed lukewarm reactions, would get booed in Philly of all places? That's hilarious about The Rock though, You could see a WTF look on his face throughout the entire thing.
  4. Completely agree, This company deserves everything it gets. I can't think of any logical reason as to why they booked the Royal Rumble the way they did. They HAD to have known that the fans were going to be pissed off eliminating Bryan that early. It was the worst Rumble I have ever seen (even worse than 1999). In fact, if the Triple Threat match hadn't been so awesome, with the undercard it bad as it was, it might have gone down as one of the worst PPV's ever. Reigns has been getting lukewarm reactions for months. And once again, the company doesn't listen or doesn't care. It was a big f**k you to the fans, and the fans responded with a giant f**k you of their own. It was 100% deserved. Bottom line is Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn need to go.
  5. This company deserves it. This is last year's Royal Rumble all over again! The company doesn't learn and doesn't listen to it's audience. They are so completely out of touch and deserve every boo and chant they get.
  6. Yeah he unfortunately is. http://411mania.com/wrestling/christian-officially-retired-from-the-ring/ According to PWInsider, Jerry Lawler referring to both Edge & Christian as “retired” on Raw wasn’t an error. Christian has been pulled from the ring due to the series of injuries and concussions he suffered during his current run and is considered retired as an in-ring performer. The site adds that he has “about a year” on his current deal with WWE.
  7. I was actually really enjoying Raw tonight and wasn`t really ever bored....and then they had to end the show. What a fresh and original idea. I mean really, was anyone clamoring for The Authority to come back?!? It's been 5 weeks!!! On top of that, Ziggler and Stings heroism in that match doesn`t even matter anymore. It means absolutely nothing because the damn company can`t stick to stipulations for more than 2 months. Hell, even Brock Lesnar was sitting in the background looking like a big chump. I sense a huge crowd backlash to this garbage and it`s going to be epic.
  8. I wouldn't mind if the Bills fired Nathaniel Hacket as OC and replaced him with Trestman. The Bills defense was spectacular this year but their offense was just awful. With Kyle Orton retiring today, they're going to have get someone in their with a more diverse playbook who can utilize Sammy Watkins.
  9. As much as I love Jericho, his segment with Rusev was embarrasingly awful. I get that the show is PG but I feel he must have some sort of power to tell the writers that the stuff they were giving him was cringeworthy. If he ever comes back full time I hope they give him another heel run. He's just so much better that way.
  10. NXT constantly reminds me of why I'm a wrestling fan. It constantly amazes me that NXT is made by the same company that puts out the garbage that is RAW & Smackdown.
  11. I will be completely shocked if Sheamus doesn't turn on Team Cena. It will give him a desperately needed heel turn.
  12. I'm halfway through Night Of Champions and good LORD is JBL bad. Like just plain god awful terrible. He's pretty much bordering on heel Michael Cole at this point. He just rambles and nothing he says makes any sense.
  13. Just got back from Mick Foley and man is that dude an amazing storyteller! I could have listened to him talk for another hour easily. I had no idea what to expect and was quite impressed.
  14. Former WCW & WWE wrestler Sean O'Haire has passed away at the age of 43. It's a shame his WWE devil's advocate character didn't pan out because the promos were GREAT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XDtXARTXwA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84fAEmrTWmU
  15. 10 seconds into her promo last night Brie said "Is this why you've been telling lies about me all night long". I'm pretty sure that was spposed to imply Nikki was lying about everything. But god this has to be one of the worst angles they've done in years. No one gives two craps about the Bellas. They can't wrestle, they can't act, they can't work the mic. And for some god damn reason they always enunciate the last word in their sentences really loudly. "I wish you would have died in the WOMMMMB". Just terrible.
  16. From all reports it sounds like Angle approached the WWE about a return and Triple H declined it, which I fully understand. The dude has been a trainwreck of a person for years now and if he keeps going on a downward spiral, which could very well happem, the WWE would be wise to not have him on the payroll when it happens. I honestly doubt we will ever see Kurt Angle in a WWE ring again unless something drastic happens.
  17. I've read that both Triple H AND McMahon are against the idea of bringing him back. However, having said that, the majority of the Internet Dirt Sheets are generally complete BS and seem to be right 5% of the time so who really knows what the true story is. Regardless I doubt it's about how they parted ways. McMahon has brought back Bischoff,Hogan,Bret Hart & The Ultimate Warrior despite having issues with them, so he will do what's best for business when he needs to. I really think it's Angles injuries and personal demons (multiple DUI's) that probably have them leary about bringing him back.
  18. - Batista recently spoke with the Huffington Post UK about the streak ending and more. Here are the highlights... On "The Streak" ending: "It sucked! Honestly, I thought it sucked. I haven't really talked much about it but I think it was a bad decision, a horrible decision. I don't have any say in the matter but to me, watching as a fan, it made me sick. Brock Lesnar beating him didn't seem to work and it really wasn't good that Brock left the day after. I just don't see how that made sense at all. I don't think anyone wanted to see the streak broken and it just didn't make sense to me." If Sting will wrestle in WWE: "I don't know – you know, they've been talking about that for years. I've never even met him. But I hope so. I think he's got a place there. But they need to do it soon because the audience is changing so much that if they wait any longer, the audience is going to be a bunch of kids and when he comes out they're going to chant CM Punk!" On if he thought he would be booed: "You could have fooled the hell out of me! They channelled their rage right in my direction. I can't put my finger on it, it was crazy. I don't get wrestling now. I've kind of completely taken my finger off the pulse. It's a different audience which I don't understand. It's strange though, it's really just the TV audience because when we get into the live events it's a completely different audience and they come just to watch the show. It's weird, the TV crowd seems like they come to be the show rather than to watch and interact with the show. It's like they want to steal the show, so I'm just totally confused." Great quote by Batista! The smarky crowds that think they are so cool have been getting more and more obnoxious. (The Daniel Bryan-angry crowds at the Rumble were warranted though - just directed at the wrong people).
  19. Brie should never ever be allowed to talk again. Good god is she terrible. The Heyman/Cena promo was fantastic though. This is how Cena should be all the time in his important feuds.
  20. http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2014/0719/579163/wwe-hal-of-famer-reportedly-no-longer-under-contract-to-the/ WWE Hall Of Famer Reportedly No Longer Under Contract To WWE Due To Budget Cuts WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat has reportedly been let go from the company due to budget cuts. Steamboat had worked as a coach in NXT and apparently was working at the WWE offices in Talent Relations under Triple H recently. Steamboat will be doing several conventions and non-WWE interview DVD's in the coming months, which is usually a sign that you're no longer under contract to the company. Steamboat was doing promotional work for WWE in Malaysia this past May.
  21. Hahaha that's what I was thinking after that awesome "City Of Brotherly Love" comment. It's like he was cutting a wrestling promo.
  22. Haha you spoke too soon. UPDATE 4: WWE.com has also confirmed the release of WWE performer JTG. UPDATE 3: WWE.com has added referee Marc Harris to the list.
  23. WWE has come to terms on the release of the following Superstars as of today, June 12, 2014: Drew McIntyre Jinder Mahal Aksana Curt Hawkins Theodore Long Camacho Brodus Clay Evan Bourne Yoshi Tatsu The only real ones in there I hate to see go are Drew McIntyre and Evan Bourne, although Bourne did it to himself with the Wellness Violation Suspensions. Brodus Clay was given a gimmick that was doomed to fail and would have been done much better with a big man Mark Henry kind of gimmick.
  24. I thought Payback was a surprisingly solid PPV. Cena/Wyatt & Shield/Evolution delivered big (I'd put both matches around ****) and Cesaro/Sheamus was a great opener (put it around ***1/4). The rest of the card was decent and there were no matches that I would call awful. The only complain I could say I have is that there isn't a lot to differentiate sometimes between Raw, Smackdown & PPV's. I'm a huge believer of bringing back jobbers to to help build people up and only have the two wrestlers fighting at the PPV interact here and there to make the match seem more important and fresh,
  25. Mick Foley will be in Salmon Arm October 3 for his comedy tour "Mick Foley: Tales From Wrestling Past". Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/724147290981910/ Edit: Apparently also in Castlegar October 1, Kelowna October 2 & Abbotsford October 4
