  1. Well, since I've already taken on the role of the devil's advocate in this thread, here's a continuation. Different poster, adding onto Mr. Facial Expressions.

    Flame away.

"I'm sorta jealous about this other guy in school who's better than me and people notice him and they don't notice me. I so wanted him to fail, but then he didn't. Who wants to join me in my pity parade? Nobody? Oh well. See you later, world."

    LOL!

This is even better than the facial expression guy.

edit: He even responded to the facial expression guy's post on HF. Looks like he has a pity parade partner after all. LOL!

  2. I don't think Horvat counts as a prospect anymore. At least according to HF criteria. He's now at 74 NHL games played. But really we knew he was no longer a prospect when the Canucks broadcasted that video in which he was welcomed to the Canucks.

  3. If he truly is an elite talent and one of the top prospects in the CHL, you would like to see him elevate his game even further to rise to the occasion as all truly great players do.

    Note: He already has.
  4. I take it that you haven't read my support towards Shinkaruk in the Hunter Shinkaruk thread this season, eh? :picard:

Virtanen's shoulder injury has played a huge role in his drop in offensive consistency, I totally agree. However, the rust from being off the ice is no longer an excuse. He had a nice stretch in late January, which included his last multi-goal game vs the woeful Giants, had a nice run in late February but has had a lousy month of March. For a guy who has the skill set that he does, Virtanen has just 3 goals in his last 19 games. That includes the regular season and the playoffs. That's not good nor acceptable for a goalscoring power forward in junior hockey. Getting assists is a nice bonus and so is putting opponents over the boards and into the team benches. It could be possible that his shoulder might still be bothering him or he may have an undisclosed injury that may be hampering his deadly shot that usually results in turning the red light on.

Hopefully, we will know more about Virtanen's situation after the Hitmen's season is over and done with.

Virtanen's face after reading this post:

Feelings hurt too easily by mere questioning stats. Bust.

  5. curious how a forward could ever be considered a sieve....

Not sure. Allowing pucks to go through his feet too much?

I think the OP is just focusing on a few bad plays while discarding the many great defensive plays he's made. The overall point, that he is far from being 'bad' defensively, was made. I pointed out one specific example, but there have been a lot to show a pretty good ability to play defensively. Of course we can all nitpick individual plays till the cows come home, but I think the point still stands. He's pretty freakin' far from being a bad defensive player, and while he may or may not be a fantastic defensive player, i'm sure a case can be made that he's a (inserted to cause Elvis aneurysm) ringadingsuperlicious one, or maybe a superbombasticdynamoextremeforce one.

As for the facial expression argument, wow, that just serves discredit the OP.

  6. CDC.

Canucks Drama Centre. This thread explains why I want the Canucks farm team to remain in Utica, and stay the hell away from our fanbase. Micro-analyzing an 18 year old who hasn't played in pro yet. Now people are judging him by his facial expressions and his twitter account?

    Yikes.

Apparently that was judged in HF. btw Who is that TOML guy? Sounds like he knows what he's talking about.
