Ah well, figured it was unlikely we’d win both the opening games. We’re still a good team, LOTS of hockey to be played

soon to be 0-4 against the us in gold medal games

I think we got outcoached this game. They had a clear strategy & executed it very well. Canada has looked lost & lethargic for much of this game

feels like silver for Canada tonight. If so, it doesn't change that the are the best team in the tournament, by far.
Yeah the best team doesn’t always win, single elimination anything can happen

I live in the US, unfortunately I have the American coverage & it’s so pro-USA. I’d love it if Canada could shut them up!

Gotta make a move in tight like Byram. Can not hit the tendy in the gut.
Some of the shots seem like the boys are unloading the puck like hot potatoes.
Nerves?

If we can get 1 in the first 8 minutes or so, it is ON. Canada overcame a 2 goal deficit in the 3rd to win last year

Who are these imposters in the red & white jerseys??

They look a little nervous. A lot of pressure on these young guys. All the talk of this team being the GOAT.
Just have fun and play your game boys!
Yeah they definitely look tight. They should enjoy the experience and play as hard as they can to win. But it’s not life or death stuff here, leave it all on the ice & see what happens

First adversity
It finally came in the last game of the tournament. Until that shift where the USA scored, I thought Canada was controlling the play. Since? The US has been all over them

I’m a dual citizen, but born and spent my childhood in Canada, so I’m always pro Canada!!

I feel like I’m in a very small minority in that I think we still have a very good team. Our best players are quite young and should keep improving. Players like Bo Horvat who had excellent playoffs, should be continuing to grow and mature. I actually trust Benning. He’s made some errors, but this team now compared to 4 years ago is drastically better.

So much for Tanev "sleeping on it". Lol. 4.5 is too rich for my blood. Guy has poor possession numbers, weak offensively, non existent physically. Glad he and Marky got paid. Also glad it wasn't with us.
Thank you. I like Tanev and his contributions, but I don’t care for that contract. For some reason I’m not worried about our team, I trust JB. We made it further than Calgary last year, and our young players already look much better than theirs in the playoffs

Holtby is a Stanley Cup champion who was THE guy in net for his team. When was the last time the Canucks had a goaltender who was a Stanley Cup winner?

Yeah I think Hughes should have won but whatevs. The TEAM has bigger and much better things to win

When you get to a game 7, pretty much any stats and such get thrown out the window. Anything can happen in a 7th game

I won’t be able to see the game, spending the long weekend in my in-laws cabin in the woods, no internet, no TV. Tonight I’ll drive into town when I think the game will be over to see how the Canucks did. I’ll have to keep myself distracted somehow lol

Is Markstrom even available? I’m sure he’s tired, but how do you take Demko out of the net when he’s scorching hot right now?
-
If you’d told me before this series started, or even after that ugly game 1, that we’d be going to a winner-take-all game 7 with one of the Stanley Cup favorites, I would have taken it in a heartbeat!

ALL and I mean ALL of the pressure is on Vegas now. Canucks have nothing to lose, they’re already heroes to us. Vegas lost to SJ last year up 3-1 and up 3-0 in game 7. They can not lose tomorrow

I’m relying on you guys, I’ve been too afraid to watch since game 1

If we win I seriously think game 7 is a toss up. But this is going to be the hardest game of the series for the Canucks to win. I’m thinking the first OT game of the series, 3-2 Canucks win with J.T. Miller scoring the winner. Here’s hoping for a 7th and deciding game!!

They’re playing really well, some of these will start to go in. They’re completely dominating Calgary.
