  1. Based off what exactly? The cookie cutter pr response from the Bruins? The absolutely half assed apology over social media to the victim? Or was it the sister saying that her brother who called a Black person the n-word for years on end was "the last person in the world to be racist" is what really sold you on how great of a person he is. So far, every single thing around this story shows he is not reformed at all. What makes you think otherwise?
  2. Book it do all these trades, win 1st pick the next 2 years. Draft the Vancouver kids. Stanley Cup
  3. Pearson on IR after Bruce opened a can of Whoop Ass on him for that penalty last night
  4. Like him or not, he stepped up with the rest of the Bruins leadership group and forced a change for the better.
  5. Anything?! He can do anything to make amends! He has done literally the bare minimum required of him to be able to start making his retirement fund. He has shown zero remorse, responsibility, empathy... The response and "apology" sent out on his behalf was not even written by him. I swear you haven't even read on this story and your more concerned with the idea of cancel culture that your blinded by your own ignorance. It's actually starting to really bug me that you preached about you being "too empathetic" towards the kid. Where's the empathy for the victim? Where's your moral sense of what's right and wrong and how to make good by those you wrong? You tried to take the high ground with your hand on the shoulder of a kid who abused a disabled person and your head in the sand. It's disgusting this is the hill you're choosing to die on...
  6. Good riddance. He'll likely head over to Russia or somewhere over seas. That's fine, he just doesn't deserve to make the big money and live out his dreams.
  7. Yup. We have seen what Miller will be as he ages. Now imagine his play this year without him picking up points. Oh dear...
  8. 100%. I really hope this is a possible Miller move though over Horvat.
  9. This has all been addressed by the mother of victim in her public statement. She had gone to the schools administration and Miller's parents on multiple occasions and it was ignored. It's part of the reason why this is such a big deal. Miller never faced consequences for his actions because he was a good hockey player. Full stop. Any other child would have seen their actions be punished. Miller lived a privileged life and his wicked behavior was enabled. On top of Miller for his heinous actions, his parents and the school administration also to blame.
  10. What steps? Reports say he didn't appolgize or make any attempt at contact what so ever until he had a huge sum of money sitting in front of him. The only way that's "improving himself" is financially. The mother of the child just made a statement saying they have not received any sort of sincere apology or attempt to make things right. Infact, he refused to apologize in his draft year when the Yotes required him to do. He straight up refused to attempt to make amends. That means he felt he didn't need to, he had nothing to apologize for. That's the signs of a person who was proud of their behaviour. This one is not a single strike. This is a pattern of malicious behavior over the course of many years preying on someone vulnerable. This pos woke up in the morning and knew he was going to engage in this behaviors. Maybe you are to emphatic. But nothing I've read from you sounds at all emphatic to me. At least in this discussion you sound nieve. And to be clear, I don't think he needs to be cancelled permanently. He can live a normal life like the majority of the population. But I do not think he should be given the opportunity to earn millions of dollars and live our his dreams. I don't think evil people deserve that opportunity.
  11. This has nothing to do with childhood, at all. If a grown ass man did this it would be even more despicable. This guy didn't make a momentary lap of judgement and alter his, and the victims life. This sociopath enjoyed torturing this kid and did it over many years. There's a massive difference between the 2, and honestly is weird you can't see that.
  12. Heatley made a horrible mistake and paid for it. I reckon that mistake haunted him for the rest of his life. This kid is a sociopath. He could care less that he tortured this child. He never even apologised. He should be canceled. He has not earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt. Some people are evil, and those people deserve to rot. This kid is in that boat, as far as I'm concerned.
  13. Kane is a douche, this Miller kid is a straight up sociopath. He tortured a child with disabilities for 7 years and has shown no remorse what so ever. This is way worst. People deserve second chances, but not by default. They are earned. This kid has only earned the right to rot away in obscurity as far as I'm concerned.
  14. Imagine how different this season could be if the Canucks won even half of those games. This is direct proof that the culture Benning tried to set by not being a a true rebuilding team failed. Our current set of veterans don't know how to win. This early season record is on Horvat, Miller, OEL, Pearson and Myers IMO. That's the leadership core that should be teaching a young group how to finish a game. There's lots going wrong with this team, but I'd say our veteran leadership is the biggest issue.
  15. Yup, the second we signed that contract we hitched our wagon to that horse long term. I just don't think anyone expected it to be a dead horse before the contract even started...
  16. Yup... We had our chance. Now we're likely stuck.. But to be fair, outside myself and a small handful of other fans, almost no one wanted this trade.
  17. Hopefully the NYI are full galaxy brain and only watching highlights and score sheets. Might be able to convince them Miller hasn't gone into early retirement and he's still a 1st line C. Fingers crossed.
  18. Bo was flying tonight. Has been most of the season. Petey is putting in the effort, been our best forward by a country mile. Wonder where the country club attitude is coming from... Guess we'll never know....
