I know people hate Kadri, myself included because he's dirty but he's a good player. Had back to back 30 goal seasons until Tavares took all his ice time this year. I think he'll do well being the 2c there.

AVs are like the perfect team to offer sheet Marner. They have the cap space and need to take advantage of Mackinnon being grossly underpaid for another 4 years. They have a go for it window now and those 1st round picks will be late 1st rounders.
If they even win 1 cup in that time, it'll be worth it to solve the cap problems later.

7m is a lot better than that 9m rumour. Still a little high for my tastes cause his production did go down without Tavares. However, isles needed to go crawling back after missing out on panarin and we live in a world where Hayes makes 7m so fair compared to that.

David Backes after we offer sheeted him. Went on to become the blues captain for years and only left St. Louis because the blues knew he didn't have much left, so didn't want to sign him to a bad contract like Boston did.

How can it be tampering when he's Montreal property now and under contract with them. Carolina just has the right to match the offer now to make him their property again.

Seems like a low offer for Aho to sign, so am surprised he actually signed it. Was thinking he would hold out for 9.5-10m. Just glad someone had the balls to offer sheet someone and hope someone does it to marner now but for at least 10.5m.

This is kind of a pointless announcement because Aho hasn't signed this offer sheet yet. It's just them announcing they offered one. It's like the canucks announcing they've sent an offer sheet to Marner for 9m. Pointless because marner isn't singing that and Aho shouldn't sign that Montreal one because it's too low.

Panarin's is a close runner up though.
Nah panarin's deal will probably end up being one of the best because he's the only one worth breaking the bank for today. He's at or close to Pettersson's level and I would have no problem giving Pettersson 11.6m today. He might end up costing more though if the cap rises in a couple of years. Panarin is a game breaker and franchise player like Pettersson. He dragged the jackets to the playoffs twice.

Leaf fans go around telling people about the virtues of Tavares's for taking less money. I've seen them attack marner and saying he should follow Tavares example of taking less money for the good of the team.

Very nice deal for panarin. 11.6 is less than the 12-13 Columbus was offering and I think the isles went 12. He left a decent chunk of money on the table.

Panarin left money on the table too. Shows he's not just about the money. Rangers rebuild looking good adding panarin, fox, trouba and Kakko. Of course they have the advantage of free agents wanting to go there.

Damn. Wanted him to go to the islanders cause &^@# the rangers for messier and 94! Panarin was the only free agent this summer worth blowing the bank for cause he's that good. Shame the canucks had no shot at him.

Not many contenders can pay him his true worth and any team he goes to he makes them a lot better. Plus, you could say the same about anyone that signs with us. Jay Beagle just won a cup and signed with us because he didn't care about winning anymore and chased the money. If Myers signs with us, he doesn't care about winning leaving a good team like Winnipeg and is chasing the money. Both beagle and Myers could have stayed with their original playoffs teams if they took lower salaries. Therefore, if you hold that against panarin you also have to hold that against every free agent that signs with us. It's not something I hold against players.

That's a fair price and what I expected him to go far. I'd love it if the canucks could get him for that, but he's not going to sign here. He's a game changer and really good. Would probably hit 100 points playing with Pettersson. I would take panarin over marner and I think Marner is worth 10-11m.

Vegas is making a mistake by trading him. They should be clearing cap to sign him and playing him in their top 6. He has a chance to be a star like panarin. I'd love him on the canucks. He could play with horvat or petey.
