Gives the coaches a good idea of what kind of person he is. Face to Face. QBs are like goalies, different quirks and techniques like cadences, drop back steps, arm angles/releases, etc. I think, too...some QBs grow up playing in the same type of offenses to maximize their success and taylor to their skills, if he isn't a total scheme fit, they might want to see if there are intangibles that can be worked with. Rourke is fairly raw, but I believe he has solid tools for today's NFL. Curious about his overall arm strength and decision making, but always neat to see a CFL player make the jump.

Sad thing is players on the practice roster in the NFL make more than starters in the CFL.

Hope he doesn't sign with the Raiders. I hate Vegas.

It's insane, lot's of them working 2nd jobs. I'm unfortunately cursed as a life-long Raider fan, selfishly, I'd love to see Rourke there and given some RPO packages or something. I've always wanted a strong dual threat, Derek Carr is too afraid to scramble out of the pocket and gets happy feet.

  5. Thank you! We worked with the Brits and Yanks and the Brits were top shelf. Professional, well trained, and had personality! I'll have one for your cousin tonight.
  6. Thanks for the kind words, Deb. It's not just in our homes, it becomes a part of us socially, all my neighbors think I'm an asshole because I keep to myself, I don't smile much out of the house. Its not like people with PTSD can walk around with a note hanging around our necks saying "I'm not a dick, I'm just consumed in my own mind right now, it's not you it's me" doesn't really have a good ring to it haha. After awhile, you lose the ability or the effort to want to 'fake' it anymore.
  7. Thanks for the thread, Sharp! I've been out for over 11 years and not a day goes by that I don't think about 'what ifs' and my experiences overseas. I am haunted by many gruesome images from my time as a TACP Operator on TF 3-09. Remembrance Day is important to remember the men and women who never made it home, their families, and the people who came home forever changed. I don't think there will be a day when I am 'at ease' with our involvement in Afghanistan. So many lives lost unnecessarily. There are a lot of things I could say or type, but just getting a few off my chest sometimes helps. I was 24 when I went over. It's hard to look at old pictures because now I am 37, but I look 47. I felt young at 24...I WAS young at 24, not fully able to comprehend the baggage I would carry for the rest of my life. Thanks for reading my blog post lol. This was taken just the 2nd day I was home. I still hadn't came close to processing everything that transpired over the last 7 months, this was essentially the calm before the storm.
  8. The 1st period was a lot of fun to watch. Letting the foot off the gas and not playing a full 60 is frustrating. Overall a better effort with a lot of Grade A chances that we NEED to capitalize on. Dries had like 5 or 6 scoring chances and couldn't bury. This offense needs to keep rolling to try and outscore our poor defense, which I don't think is sustainable over the remaining 70 games. Demko also being 'off' this season has really exposed how bad our defense is. Only a matter of time, right?.....RIGHT?!?!!
  9. Awesome! Juice is on my all-time team for sure. Loved what he brought game in and game out and will never forget watching him beat the wheels off Byron Ritche from the Flames (Wearing jersey #25 at the time) and being like "Who is this guy!?" Then the LEGENDARY Fedor Fedorov story. A real throwback. He's looking like he could still play!
  10. That was a good win! Played damn near a full 60 minutes and weathered a decent storm from the Pens at the start of 2. Secondary scoring is finally starting to click! Mikheyev, Garland, Kuzmenko all looked dangerous. Wasn't sure about Aman off the hop, but he plays a great 2 way game, big body on the wall, and is so sound positionally, nice find for the bottom 6. Winning back to back after the start we had is huge. Feels good to not just squeek by and hang on, that one felt nice.
  11. Bear doesn't move the needle at all. Is this FO just going to make lateral moves just to say to the fans 'see! we are doing something!' PASSSSSSS!
  12. There was a moment in the 3rd when there was around 6:30 left. 1 Sabres FWD was in the middle of 4 of our defenders and the puck was sent to him...he almost scored. Everyone standing around covering air. Our D gives out so many free passes in front of our own net it's gross.
  13. Wow. There is just too much to unpack on this one. From the amount of times they decided to flee the zone without having full possession allowing Sabres players CONSTANTLY behind the defense, to totally giving up after the EN goal to hang Demmer out to dry, that is inexcusable. I hope Schenn took Miller out back and fed him his post game meal, what an absolute thief. This is infuriating. Season after season of lacklustre efforts, but don't worry....we are into year 8 of our rebuild!
  14. I used to be a tech for telus and these things are mass produced, every central office has pallets of modems, set top boxes, etc waiting to go out and be installed. Sometimes, like any electronic, small parts in small areas creating heat can cause issues or failure. Just like vehicles, sometimes you get a lemon in the bunch. It was nothing you did or anything you could have managed, only advise would just make sure to have one on the way before that one decides to not wanna work at all. Hope that helps.
  15. No, that's definitely not normal. If it keeps up, i'm sure it will outright quit on you, Call up Telus and have them ship you another modem (You shouldn't have to wait for a tech). They will just tell you to box up the old equipment with your account number, tell Canada Post it's Telus equipment (you don't pay for shipping).
  16. I think it's going to be a 10 game sample. I feel like winning only 1 or 2 games in a 10 game span is going to create some movement. But....WHO!?
  17. Oh boy.... Bo had some nice shifts, but trying to attack the puck carrier in OT when F1 is already low. Big no-no. JT Miller pass right up main street after taking a long shift. Hughes defensively has been roughhhhh this year. He reminds me of Jovo in the high risk for high reward and i've started to accept that, however, he has been worse than usual defensively. Martin played pretty solid, he was hung out to dry on more than a couple and made some nice saves. Petersson has a confidence he seeemed to be missing last year. I love watching Podz, if kids want to learn how to play the game without the puck, iso-shift Podkolzin. He plays the game the right way. I actually thought we were going to blow it in regulation, that's what this has done to me lol. At least we got a point?! WOOOOOO!!!!
