I was at that game. Just watching this highlights got my blood going.That team was sooooo good from top to bottom. Outstanding at every position.

I used to have that 11-0 Calgary beating game on VHS tape. (for all you kids out there, VHS was, oh forget it). We really Momessed them up that night.

Benning was a good GM except for his loyalty to Green. A different coach could have motivated his players (Erikssssn) had success with players that seemed to die on the vine here (Schmidt/ Bartschi) and developed young players (Goldobin). His loyalty to a terrible coach is mind boggling, especially since it cost him his job and probably all future job opportunities.

We honed the ability to differentiate with the Sedins.

Shawn Antoski. 1990 First Round Pick 6.4 and 235lbs Super Fast. Scored 25 goals and 56 points in 59 games in juniors with over 200 pm. First year in the minors he scores 17 goals and has 24 points with 330 penalty minutes. Second year he again has 17 goals and 33 points with 346 pms. As a Canuck, he never really figured out any way to be effective.

I'm sure, if you tried, you could find a cooler way of looking at it. lol

Hogz would benefit from some Abbotsford time. Get some confidence. Playing up with the big team seems to be too much ATM. He's great but could use some more development.

it's interesting how interesting some of you are hoping this transaction will be. I can't see in any universe where we pulled off a major move and immediately need to bring up Sheldon Rempal. lol

I'm not actually in charge or privy to what they are thinking? If you think moving Miller when he's at his most valuable to acquire assets we badly need is rebuilding, then label it what you feel like. I thought asset management sounded cooler.

Get ready Vancouver fans. Here comes a little something called asset management. We're not really used to it. Actually we're used to assets walking away for nothing. Miller is an amazing asset. As good as it gets. He's worth so much to teams about to compete for the Cup, far more than he's worth to us currently. He's pretty much our everything and it sucks to lose him. However, our window to win isn't now and it probably isn't next year. We're not keeping him. It would be 'Benning Dumb' to do that. He will fetch us a young right defenceman and a young big forward that will help make a more complete team for the future. Plus draft picks. It's going to be a big haul. I think Miller is great and if our window to win was now, I wouldn't think about moving him. But it's not. Timing is everything...

I don't know if that's exactly what I want from a young player just called up. I want a hat trick and a fight.

Over the years we saw some interesting moves by Benning that just didn't seem to work out. Now that we have witnessed the Canucks under a new coach, I wonder if what looked like bad moves were really great moves killed by an atrocious coach. Was Player Louie E ruined by Green? Nate Schmidt? Goldobin? Baertchi? Tryamkin?

I'm pretty sure the game plan isn't to wait until the off season for anything.

When healthy our D is decent with some good players but it's not the greatest D corps. The point is that once a few guys get injured, which we are starting to see, we get thin on NHL talent fast.
