  1. So what do you think it would cost to get him? And would it be worth the price if we aren't going to be able to resign him? Could Rafferty, or joulevi maybe have the same impact as Barrie?
  2. Fair enough, but still, keeping the puck out of the net is a big problem that barrie will make worst, won't he?
  3. Really, crazy! we must be dropping pretty quick as I know we where among tops not too long ago....
  4. I don't think our problem this year is putting the puck in the net, we are one of the top scoring teams at even strength and on the PP. Our problem is keeping the puck out of our net which I don't think Barrie will really help...
  5. I know our PP doesn't look that good while watching, but we still sit top five in the league I'm pretty sure..
  6. Think that's low, stecher is now a proven bottom six Defenseman which should be getting us a solid third. If he wasn't his size, he would be worth a second+, or we would be keeping him
  7. I'm not saying he doesn't play with heart, it's just not enough to resign him on alone...
  8. Because we are low on picks this year, and while having a decent talent pool, it's not bottomless. What we do have is a good number of prospects ready to push for spots on both D and Offense
  9. Exactly, which is why his heart and his skill, while being quite good, doesn't outmatch his lack in stature and overall potential. Which is why we will be moving on You're saying what I'm saying, I was just to lazy to add all those words as people have been a bit testy lately so I kept it simple
  10. Unfortunately for stecher, the writing has been on the wall for a while. His heart and skill just isn't enough to stay invested in him, expecting a third, maybe second if something is added from our end
  11. Ok, so maybe I'm hoping Myers is taken in the draft.. he is a big, good defensive player which may have some eye candy attached to him. I do agree he isn't worth his contract at all though, and it isn't going to be getting much better going forward. Let's go Seattle draft!
  12. I agree, it would suck watching stetcher leave the team. He has been one of the hardest working players we have this year, and has been playing well to boot. And his value probably isn't what it should be either. I think we do need to make some room on the back end though, let future college free agents, and players know that you won't be stuck in the minors. Who do we part with at that point? Myers just signed a big contract, Hughes is Hughes... Tanev I would like to see delt, though it would throw out a lot of chemistry with Hughes. Benn and fantenberg are both solid big defensive bodies for the 6/7 spot. Stetcher might be the odd man out
  13. I'm ok with 6x5, it's taken marky a bit to get to this point, but he is looking solid in the net. Today's goalie market is scary as can be though with even some of the best names dropping off a cliff. I think Myers might end up being exposed and lost in the expansion draft...
  14. I've been thinking this way too, Demko has a lot of upside and could be a great goalie for a lot of years. He is also showing early that he has some concussion problems as he has sat out a few times this year already... I hope this isn't a issue going forward with his career, but if it is, it might be good to get out early. Depietro has potential but it's incredible how small he looks in net. He is playing really well in the AHL this year, but I'm hesitant to say he is a lock for the NHL.
  15. That would be a very good deal on our end, I'm thinking stretcher plus a third might bring us into the high second round. A first round will cost us like a Tanev, maybe a Pearson+ stetcher
  16. Agreed, it's unfortunate but he is the logical odd man out. Benn and fantenberg have been playing as good enough 6/7 that a Rafferty, Juolevi, or insert name in order to see what they got. Stretcher will fetch a third+, maybe a decent young forward with potential. Would still like to see kapanen from Toronto somehow
  17. Ok, I'll go with it. Fifth is reasonable spot in a list of two way forwards for him
  18. Stretcher is just a bit too good for the AHL I think, having him down there though would make Utica a solid championship contender He isn't quite skilled enough for top 4, and he's just a bit small for bottom 6 so it's tough with poor stretch. He seems to really like being on the Canucks too
  19. I know he meant two way center, that's why I didn't tear him apart for saying something so wrong...kesler a generational talent..hahaha He played great in one series, you can call him runner up behind datsyuk all you want, but it was bergeron who won it almost every year.. if lucky he was just top five second line center for his peak 3 or 4 seasons.. you might not care how he left, but most of the fan base didn't like it when it happened and still have a bad taste in their mouths now. He wasn't a good person!!! I agree we have way to many jerseys in the rafters, but putting more meh into the ring of honour isn't going to help that...
  20. I see what you're saying and it does make a lot of sense, trading Tanev would pu out a negative vibe in the team. Maybe stretcher is the man out, he's a great but for his size and skill set, but he can be replaced by the younger players coming up..
  21. I would really like to see one of them traded, Tanev is worth the most he's been in a couple of years, and isn't getting younger.. and Stretcher, while I love that he is a hometown boy, I think there are better options at the size he is..
  22. I don't see the point in brining up Sami salo, unless you just want to talk about Defenseman who are always injured... Sami had one of the greatest shots from the blue line in Canucks history, he also had a reputation of the glass man. Why would you want to have your number 1 or 2 D man only play a third of every season, and miss about 60% of possible playoff games throughout his career? The only lack of sense here is looking through roses colour glasses at everything. I'm guessing you lot want "no honour kesler" in the ring of honour too
  23. When it comes down to it, I just don't like him as a person and the ring of honour should be about him as a person as well as a player. I met him once and never wanted to meet the guy again, and I've heard many stories of people who had bad interactions with him too. His selke, and 40 goal season doesn't out weigh his personality. One question though, top five of his generation? He was a second line center if I remember correctly... Or do you mean top five two way center of his generation?
  24. Both linden and horvat are significantly better two way centers
  25. Yes ok, you all win... He is a number one hands down, and his career has been HOF worthy, I'm so excited to have him play half of the remaining games in his career for the Canucks.... It'll be so rewarding to start the playoffs with Tanev on the LtIR, throwing off our D pairing like has happened every single season he has played... Let's all join hands in prayer that at his oldest he has his healthiest season ever!!!
