  1. Haha if they continue this play throughout the rest of pre season against legit NHL line ups I think they'll both make it. Im not really sure how with all the forwards we have, but it's going to be interesting. Hoping we make a trade, Dorsett or Sutter.
  2. That's true about the offensive support. I feel like Virtanen's going to pick up a lot of things from Boeser that will help him be a goal scorer in the NHL.
  3. Only thing I'm worried about is if he's goes down and has really bad puck luck again. Some players just seem to be better or put up better numbers in the NHL than the AHL. Small sample size, but Bo Horvat for example. If he continues his play when the vets return he should stay up imo. Our forward group is just too slow and soft without him.
  4. Yup, especially with after the Vanek signing. Was worried that might discourage a few of the younger forwards.
  5. I still don't understand how people think he needs a full season in the AHL when most experts think he's going to be leading our team in goals this season and could compete for the Calder. He was one of our best players when he played at the end of last season and that was right after his season just ended. A faster, stronger Boeser with a full offseason of NHL training and a 100% healed wrist is not going to be in the AHL.
  6. Perfect. I think that's a bit too light for his body type. His thighs are huge and he's pretty thick. Around 210 would be ideal imo.
  7. The thing I worry about the most is his shoulder. Just hope he can play a physical game without re injurying it. Not many guys can hit like him.
  8. He's been posting a lot of stories on Instagram of him working out, even late at night. Think he's going to turn some heads in training camp. Don't be surprised if he makes the opening line up.
  9. I don't think he has enough reach to do much even if he was a good fighter.
  10. Not really a big fan of Lind for some reason. Guess I just don't really see him becoming much more than a career AHL'r with call ups. Similiar to Chaput.
  11. I feel like people are underrating Goldobin. He has elite offensive ability and probably the best hand eye on our team, besides Boeser imo. He's still really young, his defensive game and puck pursuit will improve I'm sure.
  12. Yeah I think he'll be a 40 point guy minimum. That with his speed and hitting ability is well worth the pick imo. Can find players like Ehlers and Nylander every draft, but not too many players similiar to Virtanen. He's one of the most powerful hitters I've seen and has elite speed and shot power. Has to get his accuracy back, but that will come while he gains more confidence.
  13. Yeah it'd be almost impossible for him not to add atleast 10 pounds once he's matured. Which would put him at 177. Around the same weight as Kane, Marner, etc, and like 20 pounds heavier than Gaudreau. I still expect him to easily make it to atleast 180/185 which is fine in the new NHL and for the type of game he plays. Look at how much Juolevi gained in one season/off season.
  14. I hope we see them split up a lot this season. Too slow to play together 5 on 5.
  15. Other sleeveless guy is Chatfield
  16. People need to relax a little on Virtanen. If he keeps putting in the work like he has been and still is, according to his insta posts he'll be fine. He's too powerful a skater and has too good a shot to not score atleast 20 goals when he's in his prime imo.
  17. Did we even offer him a contract?
  18. Petterson would put up some pretty good numbers if he played in the CHL imo. His hands and play making ability remind me a bit of Drouin and Marner. I think he makes the team in 2 years. Quite a few players playing in the NHL right now between 155-180 pounds.
  19. Uh actually I have and still do. If you're the only one on your team willing to finish checks and fight it gets old and tiring pretty fast watching every one else do fly bys. Especially on a bottom feeder. You need more then 1 or 2 guys doing it every night. Especially in Virtanens case. His physical play pretty much disappeared after he lost that one fight, probably cause he knew if he threw another big hit there's no one else to stand up for him especially after Prusts comments and he's never really been a fighter. I'm not sayin this is the only reason but it's most likely part of it.
  20. I think the lack of other physical players on the team affects players like Gudbranson and Virtanen, when he was up. It's hard to be physical all the time and having to answer for it when you're one of the only ones doing it.
  21. Man some of these posts are so dumb. People saying how dangerous Yamamoto is going to be and he's 5'9 158 pounds but are worried Petterson is too small at 6'2, 165. Pretty much almost every guy I know who works out puts on atleast 10 pounds between 18-21. Not to mention he's a pro athlete and has way more training and nutritional advantages to gain weight. He's also already playing against men at that size. I'd be pretty surprised if he's not close to 180 in 2 years which is fine in today's NHL.
  22. I'd say there's very little chance Juolevi isn't on the team after this upcoming season. All he needs to do is get stronger and faster. One more season and off season of training should easily do that if he doesn't make the team this year.
