Canadian Ned Flanders "Would you like to puff on a reeferino? Its legal here."

Aren't the Abby Canucks games broadcast sometimes? Just a lame duck excuse if you ask me. CBC has been broadcasting Home Town Hockey games from community rinks for years without issue.

So far I like what I see. A new face/voice for interviews is always interesting and he has done well in those. Results at the Young stars so far speaks for itself, and I feel like he got the short end of the stick with his stint as an NHL coach. That Blackhawks team was just trash and not his fault he couldn't turn it around. So, I'll reserve my final judgement until I see how he handles Abby this year.

While he may be the captain one day, I don't believe now would be the time. I would go with JT as captain and add Petey to the leadership role with an "A". Then he can mature into that leadership role and take over when he/the team is ready.

I totally forgot he was even here... guy was a ghost on our team and made little impact. -
[Article] Canucks' Top 10 Prospects Before 2022 Draft
Spitfire_Spiky replied to a topic in Canucks Talk
Why no love of our goalies on the prospect list? I'm not delusional about Mickey D's chances but Arturs Silovs is a better prospect at this point then some of the options on this list. -
Its hard with those personnel, really Garland should be the bumper guy but then you have Dries as the net front and he's smaller than Garland. Chiasson is filling that net front presence fantastically on PP1 but with injuries we don' have the size through the lineup to do the same on PP2 unfortunately.

[Signing] Canucks sign Jaroslav Halak
Spitfire_Spiky replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I can't believe he has been sooo bad. Last night after giving up a 2 bad goals( 1st and 4th) he basically gave up, you could see it in his body language. Just bury him in the minor or let him ride the pine. -
Happy Birthday, Matthew Highmore!

Love the energy he brings every shift. The line of him Motte and Lammikko has been tenacious and all over the opponents defense. Love the pressure and they have been rewarded of late with the pucks going in. -
[PGT] Calgary Flames at Vancouver Canucks | Feb. 24, 2022

Definitely need to lock JT up long term. I really feel his leadership/playing style is what we need to drive the team, losing him would leave a big hole in our lineup. Plus the team just looks menacing in the Black Skate Jersey, goalies were too scared to make a save last night. -
[Report] Canucks hire Cammi Granato as assistant GM
Spitfire_Spiky replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Cheers to this! Perfectly explained and I agree. Great hire for the whole organization . -
Would I take him for 50% retained? For sure, he's a decent hockey player with great physical attributes you just cant teach. For the Canucks though it doesn't make sense cap wise. They need the cap to keep the core players together, BB, JT and Bo all need contracts within the next year and half and there isn't any extra to go around.

Biggest thing to hope for is the development of our young talent. Would like Hogs and Podz specifically take the next step. Have been happy with both so far. Development of our other young players seems to have regressed thus far but that’s more the team as a whole and hopefully they can turn it around.
