  1. Well duh. It's the Reinhart> Horvat + Dal Colle/Ehlers/Viraten/Ritchie that we're debating.
  2. I'd much rather keep Horvat. Does it have to be one of our young centers? Would Shinkurak or Jensen suffice with the 6th overall to get a top 2 pick?
  3. Wouldn't Ritchie be redundant when already have Kassian?
  4. Does anyone know who Benning/Linden have interviewed at the combine?
  5. You say there are people out there who are rumour mongers from other fan bases that are trying to create dissent between us and the team and yet wer'e gullible? Who the hell cares about creating dissent with us and the team? If there are people spreading rumours out there it's because they're being paid to report things whether they're true or not. And who is going to play for the Canucks? The guys who either get the nicer paycheck than what other teams would give them or the guys we drafted and are happy to be playing in the league. Fact is, the players know that their fans don't like losers. They don't like losing either. If you're trying to sell yourself as a exciting and winning team, you better actually do it or lower the cost for us to watch. This is still an entertainment business and season ticket holders aren't going to have fun shelling out hundreds to thousands of dollars to be disappointed night in night out.
  6. Same here. I can imagine he's dying to have a team with a big payroll of guys to use. I can also see Trotz putting Sedins in offensive minded situations. Let them do what they do best and score rather take their offensive production away by making them do a 3rd-line's job.
  7. True, if that was Matt Cooke's two skates going into Price we would be having Cooke's head.
  8. You think that because the media says something that Linden has to do it. Get a clue and understand how these negotiations work.
  9. I think some people need to understand that this firing isn't a vote of confidence for the players. While Linden has the framework of what kind of team he wants, it's his new GM (I hope it's Benning) will have the ultimate evaluation of the players in the system they want.
  10. I think if Backes didn't leave the puck behind him and still had it, I'd call it a clean hit. Even though the head was the point of contact, the hit was driven through Backes' chest.
  11. Go through the Anahiem roster. After Getzlaf and Perry, you'd be surprised how many big players they have. Big players are slowly becoming overrated in this market. We have Kassian, Jensen, Horvat, and Gaunce which is a lot of youthful size. You need to supplement that size with the speedy skill guys or your team which is why I would not mind us drafting Ehlers at 6th. My only worry about Ehlers is if he does not care about the defensive side of the game but I haven't watched him live before. That being said, if Draisatl or Dal Colle drop to us I would be ecstatic if we grabbed one of them.
  12. I'm pretty sure you have no clue what Bob Nicholson did as CEO and president of Hockey Canada and haven't the ounce of knowledge to understand what you're talking about.
  13. Considering the tear Jensen is on in the AHL, I'd include him as worthy too.
  14. Trading Kesler isn't about making other teams better, it's about what we are getting for him. I don't care if Ducks get Kesler and dominate if it means we are taking their prized prospects and picks because that helps us greatly.
  15. You'd be surprised what teams would pay in a bidding war. Pitts is in win-now mode. Crosby and Malken aren't going to get any younger and so far they have 1 cup to show for it. If Shero is desperate to add more cups now while he still has 2 of the best players in the world in their prime, it would make sense that he'd overpay futures to do it.
  16. No one actually knows Kesler's list. It's just assumed he wants to go to a team with a chance to win the cup or a team close to home. The list you're thinking of is the list of teams who have been noted to be seriously interested in acquiring Kesler.
  17. The difference with the Luongo situation is there is only one spot for goaltending. Forwards and defensemen just get shuffled up and down the lineup if someone else is playing better than them. You can't shuffle Lu down the lineup they same way as Edler or Kassian.
  18. Regardless, Healy has a horrible reputation for exaggerating things. I still take whatever he says with a teaspoon of salt.
  19. I wonder if Elliot Friedman will have anything on Hot Stove.
