    Sadly this is true. Power and money corrupt. Look what happened to the Grizzlies. Vancouver just cannot have good sports franchises - Whitecaps suck. Grizz sucked. Canucks suck. How many "major" league sports can we suck at? Apparently all of them.

    Yep. There's a reason why he's not back in the NHL as a GM, and he won't be. His decisions like you've written and laid out, has cost this franchise dearly. Doesn't help that the person who hired Benning is a complete dick and moron as well. We need fresh local ownership that's smart, and treats people with respect and dignity, because apparently our current owners are POS.

    best we can hope for is that he comes to Van when he's eligible to sign with any team he wants. this is a business at the end of the day. I can see Bedard keeping close tabs on his favorite hockey team, but as for "external" and professional (his job) responsibilities. He'll say all the right things to the media in Chicago. it'll be his job to do so.

    Thing is. Their prospect pool before they gave away Räty wasn’t that great. It’s even worse now well at least before the draft. Who knows. Maybe they’ll get a really good prospect come the draft. Where Sri they slotted to pick?

    He's not going to sign for 2M. Probably if it's a one year deal, 1x2M then yeah. If it's 2 years, I can see his agent asking for closer to 2.5M.

    intriguing prospect. younger than Jake Livingstone. I would take a flyer on him, but given that he hasn't been signed yet, and that there's really no rumour about him linked to the Canucks (at least nothing I've heard online), maybe he's not on their radar? Signings have definitely slowed down, I wonder if it has to do with the cap.

    He is, and technically, this is his first season since he played 79 games since 21-22 season. He should never have played that year anyways, he should really be slow cooked in the AHL, but of course, that's not the Canucks way. I'm hopeful that he has another productive season next year, but if he doesn't break out by the time he's 24/25 years old, I'm not sure he ever will.

    I'm not convinced that Podkolzin is going to be a 20 goal scorer consistently in the league. I can see him being a great forward as a middle six. Top six? Probably not. And yes, Matt Boldy is going to be a much better player all around than Podkolzin will be.

    Young man's looked very good so far in the games he's played. I think he's a keeper. Where does he slot in? Second pairing with Hronek? Hughes - Bear Hirose - Hronek ______ - McWard? Burroughs?
