While an apology is better than nothing I would like to see the church pay reparations.

It should be the pope down on his knees begging for an apology.

I feel I can comment on this because I am a member of stolen generation's.

We have yet to be acknowledged.

It takes a special kind of pos to use a laughing emoji for a post like this.

@JM_ That animal welfare and research might not be at the top of their priority list.

Not saying they're poor owners because I don't know that and I don't know what their reputation is with their other aquariums.  But cutting corners to make bottom line look better could become an option.

It was purchased less than a year ago so it's probably under the same management.

  4. If your dad has a cellphone you may want to contact his provider and let them know. If they have all of his personal info they may be able to port his number and assume his identity. Probably not as much of a risk as most elderly don't have much of an online footprint but better safe than sorry.

Unlikely, they already got another protest planned for Victoria apparently despite restrictions ending. This "protest" was never about freedom, just a bunch of middle aged white people having a tantrum.

The new study in the vid I posted was on thousands of cases and it showed a different result. More studies are underway so in due time there will be a clearer understanding. I'm not a medical professional so allot of this is over my head. Will keep watching and learning.

    Which study was that?

No I have not seen any other valid studies, but then I haven't looked for them either, so again, all I'm going to say is that if the evidence is brought forth to validate Ivermectin, then I'm willing to change my mind.

  8. I use the logitech z623 for presentations etc. They sound incredible for music, movies, and games in almost any sized room. The bass is simply outstanding as well. I honestly can't recommend them enough and the price is right to boot. I even got a set for my dad to use as a sound boost for his tv. No remote but he's cheap af so it was the best bang for the buck by a long shot. I can't speak to the other ones.

    Wife works in a school

Got a threatening response via text from a parent regrading sending kids home with antigen tests. Calling the school brainwashed and saying this the last straw or something and that  'they mean it!"

Anyone shows up to threaten her in person, I will not hesitate to knock them stiff.

I hope text was forwarded to the local authorities?

But I guess this is where I think things could be better. Perhaps having it further up with the other information could help. I do see what you're saying though.

It's been pointed out ad nauseam in this thread for so long now it doesn't matter. People are merely refusing to see it at this point.

Thinking about it, I wonder if it would benefit the government to bring out numbers like these compared with the ones they currently come out with, or at least alongside the current numbers. It might put perspective to some people who automatically assume 65% means something it doesn't.

It's at the bottom of every one of vintages posts, hospitalizations per 100,000. Darth just needed to keep reading.

Well if they took the time to realize what was actually going on in the background they'd figure out it was already in the process of removal.

In a statement, Vancouver mayor Kennedy Stewart said the City of Vancouver has been consulting with the Squamish Nation on how to remove the statue and acknowledge Deighton's harmful legacy.

A spokesperson from the Squamish Nation said the nation had come to an agreement with the city to remove the statue as part of the consultations.

"The discussions were ongoing, focused on a culturally safe and respectful process that would bring dignity and healing to all involved," said nation spokesperson and councillor Wilson Williams (Sxwíxwtn) in a statement posted to Twitter.

"The Nation was in consultation with our community and the descendants of our respected ancestor Madeline — Gassy Jack's former wife. She was a courageous woman our Nation looks up to, and today has many descendants alive in our community."

I'm still trying to figure out what your issue is? Are you concerned about the fact that it was removed or the way it was removed? So far you have shown disdain for both. You can't have it both ways.

You don't get what I am saying. Instead of assuming and painting a picture black ask for clarifications.

You can have empathy and order. The world isn't black and white. Nuance exists.

I don't see a good precedent set by relying on chaotic means to an ends to achieve goals. Regardless of whether or not your goals are justified the precedent it sets isn't. Knowledge and education is how you teach and help people learn proper. Teach them how we've improved as a society rather than letting chaotic means show us the end result of how we've moved on.

No reason in today's world, where everyone is listening, where you can't voice concerns in a orderly fashion. This is the 21st century not past ones. We've come a long way. No need to digress with problem solving behaviour.

I get exactly what you are saying, I just disagree. Ask all the murdered or missing indigenous women if anyone has been listening to their concerns. Guess who's listening now?

I don't see the point in going out of your way to extremely tear down a statue of someone you didn't like, not the way to do it.

Different time, different era. If we are going to why stop there then. Many much more worse things in the world still standing today like the great wall of china that estimated took around 400,000 peoples lives to build, many of which are said to be buried under it or the pyramids which workers were literally worked to death. Or are we just gonna nitpick?

Go back in time far enough nobody are saints if you look at it through a lens of today's world. Black, european, asian, middle eastern, you could go on, no one hasn't been evil. No race or no religion hasn't done bad. So I really don't see the point really. Are we just gonna try to make things disappear? You're not gonna have a lot to learn then because history is stepped in atrocity in the lens of the world today.

If you want something torn down then make a petition, don't put up a display.

Perhaps you could try having a little more empathy for the people who are reminded of their place every time they come face to face with these relics of the past. Indigenous women have little to no voice in this society for far too long and this time they took matters into their own hands. You don't like that, I get it, but try walking a mile in their shoes first.

Seems like a waste of time. Different time different era.

Some POS's don't deserve the honour of having statues to commemorate their existence. What's wrong with that? I keep hearing about how it erases our history from the same side who is currently trying to ban books with reference to anything that isn't straight, white, and conservative.

    Some food for thought.

Of course the situation is different now.  Back then we were less of a pillow generation.  (I kid, I kid.)  Anyway, my grandmother doesn't want restrictions installed anymore either.  Despite having many around her fall.  Same reason we all do.  It's been two years.  And,  'Well, life is for the living, after all.'

Maybe your granny just wants her special little man to give it a rest for a minute?

Ah yes, the current conspiracy making its rounds on alt right media rears it's ugly head. I mean, who doesn't enjoy daily death threats on a social media platform they barely use?
