      Nope. He's gone. Unless he miraculously becomes a significantly better hockey player.

      Well I mean KHL is not a bad alternative..  better than the AHL or something. 

       

      It must suck being 1st overall and not meeting expectations.

      The AHL only sucks if you're a veteran player who has a low chance of being called up.  That would be Yakupov.
