It’s the old-school refereeing style of the oldest referees in the league, who get the call-up & reward of working these games. I’ve said many times before,.. the oldest & more senior referees in the NHL are far from being their best. Very unfair for the teams involved & the game I love. Bettman’s officiating twist. They can decide it - indirectly by…letting things go. Cheaters then prosper, tempers can flare, and more potential violence & drama can then sell the league the way they used to do it & still want to be doing it, today. Throw away that more modern rule book! WWE refereeing is not too far off what we saw out there on the ice in the end, tonight. Useless!

This is just like an all/star game,…with the limited checking, D is an after-thought, no whistles, everyone is a freakin’ hot-dog & goals, goals, goals! But, who wins the car?

Double-digits goal scoring by the Avs in this game, all but guaranteed.

Yah, it’s a freakin’ track meet out there! Lot of high-risk Hail-Mary launchings by the D & every sniper thinks he’s in the zone & feelin’ it!

Just resting Kuemper if he tweaked something…because why waste or further risk him playing in this runaway-train-victory-in-the-making.

Hahahaha! I’m too happy! Sit down, Mikey! You’ve served your purpose, by spotting the Avs 6 goals before this game is even half over!

Kuemper may need steadier work in net to be alert,…& he probably isn’t gonna get it. Go Avs! They’ll be out-scorin’ their problems. Just want them to remember that the rope-a-dope is pretending to be weaker than you are, for counter-attack purposes - later. Defense wins championships, so find a little.

As much as I relish the Avs scoring quickly to start the 2nd period here.., …they should have received a “delay of game” penalty for not getting to the face-off dot for puck-drop on time.. goalie in the net or not.

LOL. Okay - officiating crew! We can all see where this series is gonna go, even without your help.

Yup - EDM is deploying the rope-a-dope. Thank goodness, Smith is still Mike Smith.

Can’t imagine things getting any better for EDM the longer this game goes. One team is surpassing all of their hype, the other is falling flat on their oil-canned beaks. Only hope for EDM is that the Kuemper falls asleep or gets far too cold to stop any pucks coming his way..

I expect this game to look like the last two minutes…50% of the time or more.

Playing “We Are the Champions” by Queen, instead of a Finnish song for their victory skates of the Cup around the ice, could have gone better. Perhaps let each team pick a “Championship Song” for their potential victory-parade skates, just in case.

Two Swedish referees, natural rivals for Finland. Couldn’t have started this game out thinking that things would disadvantage Canada in any way. Epic game!

The thing about hockey is that the referees are right - even when they are wrong, sometimes. Video-replays can’t fix everything - yet.

^It’s being replayed on Sportsnet. Canada scores a beauty PP goal in the 2nd, but the majority of the drama takes place in the 3rd. ^Watch that whole period, don’t miss it! Finland may have won this thing, but, they (Team-Finland) know there should almost be a tip-your-hat asterisk beside it to this officiating crew, for not using technology to properly get things right. IIHF on-ice officials & officiating gets transparently well-vetted to root-out bias & has generally been good, but during this particular game there were fails & a few unlucky moments for Canada, which made all the difference between winning & losing out there. ^It is what it is. Somethings just fatalistically happen. With Finland joining NATO, and receiving refugees from the Ukraine & political refugees from Russia, I’m glad that Finnish players, citizens, & hockey-fans got to have this feel-good moment on home soil. Juho Lammikko (Vancouver Canuck) played great for Team-Finland, and I bet this Championship victory gives him even more confidence to do better when returning to VAN next season. Team-Canada took awhile to gel, just like in the last year’s World Championship tournament, but Finland was definitely the best team in this tournament start to “Finnish”!

Haven’t enough teams been through the “Tortorella experiment” to know it ends up putting teams through the proverbial ringer?! He’s a core-buster, hot-head & incapable of doing the right thing long-term by his players. He’s someone with no diplomacy. He does not ‘always’ demonstrate mutual respect with each & every player upon his teams, nor answer to “all” persons who may be covering him in the media. He’s a narcissist who easily invites drama, becomes vindictive & can blow a gasket at any time. Let him & his legacy depart into the graveyard of yester-year’s most infamous coaching careers. He’s done like dinner!

^TBL vs VAN in the 2011 SCup Final… could have been all that! A skill-fest & offensive show for sure!
