  1. Now at loss number 346... Tied with John Vanbiesbrouk for fifth overall all time.
  2. Eight more losses and he will be number two for most career losses. Amazing long career he's had. Two more seasons and he might be the career leader.
  3. No you said Lui's 2007 season was far better than Rasks 2014 season. Explain how it was far better... The stats certainly don't show it.
  4. Yeah if you go by wins I guess. Lui also played 18 more games that year. gaa. Lui 6th Rask 4th sv% Lui 4th. Rask 2nd shutouts Lui 6th. Rask 1st wins Lui 2nd. Rask 5th team wins Van 49 Bos 54 Safe to say an argument could be made either way, if both were in the same season I think the winner would still be Rask.
  5. How is Lui's season in 2007 better than Rask's Vezinas season?
  6. problem for Lui right now is the amount of wins, the way he is playing though that will change. He has turned back the clock and playing like 2007 again.
  7. The numbers are amazingly close for goalies and the teams also, I honestly believe the shutouts was the difference and of course a bit of comfort voting for the perennial nominee maybe.
  8. I was there a while ago... And no there is no one there! The good news is that we got two tickets, parking, two burgers and I can't remember if we got two beers also or if we paid for those!! That was 75 bucks!! Seated ten rows up... It was sad after thinking how no one watches these pro athletes down there. Jagr is worth it alone
  9. The year Brodeur beat him in all the key categories and had 12 shutouts to Lui's 5?
  10. Bishop and Quick should also be thrown in that pile of runner ups.
  11. Not sure he is top three right now but he is getting close to knocking on that door. Top five or six is more realistic. Unless Holtby has a meltdown he is already running away with it this year.
  12. Well he's already well ahead of Espo in the losses column so hopefully he can win more than lose the rest of the season to hold that as close as he can.
  13. I have never heard of any fans hurt by Bure... Many were hurt by management at the time but that is entirely different. Luongo gave nothing but praise for the fans and the city, find one instance where he upset with the fans... Won't happen. He was pissed about the winter classic and earlier things regarding Schneiders playing time... Once again he loved the city and fan base here. if you are basing this on seeing some threads on the forums here how Luongo is a loser.... I somehow don't think a player pays attention to a few rogue fans who don't like him!!
  14. You haven't got a clue... Have you ever been to a game? Fans have never cheered louder than for Bure and Lui, they both got treated like royalty here.
  15. If they held forwards and defenseman to the same standard they hold goalies too, they wouldn't be inducting four per year. Entering as a goalie is way too hard in comparison. I think the system itself is flawed in that each member only has one vote. So you have a choice of a forward with 500 goals and a cup, a forward with 500 goals two cups and two art Ross, and a defenseman with Norris's trophys and a pile of points.... Or they can vote for a great goalie with no awards... They always pick the most points and awards/ cups etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see only Brodeur and some amuck like Chris Osgood get in the next ten years... A travesty
  16. So you think the committee will pay attention to homer fans like me voting for the favorite or would they not pay more attention to the hockey writers on who they pick as number 1 every year? I don't know for sure but I would bet they pay attention to first team all star selections rather than the all star game. Lui did have some great tourneys overseas... Cujo had better playoff performances. Unfortunately that also is because he only has a total of 60 something playoff games to his credit. Not in the playoffs so he was always available in his Florida days. Good tourneys overseas don't replace Vezinas , Conn Smythes, and cups so both of them are in the same boat.
  17. Luongo only had two second team all star nominations, I didn't list the second team nominations for the previous five only first team nominations. Lui has never had a first team nomination. Unless you are thinking of the all star game which is something totally different and voted by the fans. Weird? Maybe your lack of knowledge about the game that's all. Did you watch hockey when Cujo was playing? The guy was a workhorse and made bad teams a whole lot better than they should have been . On top of that he had some legendary playoff performances where he did everything but win single handedly. And much like Lui the press painted him with a similar brush. Very similar career numbers and very similar career results is why these two are so comparable.
  18. Second all star team? Going to the hall because he was second best for two years.... Leadership award? Yeah that will do it. All star game? Somehow I don't think a fan voted team will sway the vote. Listen I am not arguing against him I am pointing out the flaws with the HOF system. Only goalies who have been the best goalie in the league for multiple years and/ or have a cup or more have been inducted over a long period of time. It is so wrong but that's the way it is. Rosie Vachon, Tom Barasso, Mike Vernon all come to mind as goalies who should be in there also. Now if they are not in there I don't see how they get overlooked to vote Luongo in. Right or wrong that is just the way it is. And let's not forget Cujo... That guy was very similar to Lui and also had no major awards or cups. But the first three have all the hardware and have just been forgotten. i just don't see them putting Lui in there with no awards.
  19. Dominic Hasek 6 Vezinas, 2 Pearsons, 2 Harts, 3 Jennings, 6 first team all star selections and 2 Stanley cups Ed Belfour 1 Calder, 2 Vezinas, 4 Jennings, 2 first team all star selections and 1 Stanley cup Patrick Roy 3 Vezinas, 5 Jennings, 3 Conn Smythes, 4 first team all star selections and 4 Stanley Cups Grant Fuhr 1 Jennings, 1 Vezina, 1first team all star selection, and 5 Stanley Cups Billy Smith 1 Vezina, 1 Jennings, 1 conn Smythe, 1 first team all star selection and 4 Stanley Cups Roberto Luongo 1 Jennings See a pattern here? These are the goalies inducted that played in the 80's or later. No Vezinas, or Cups or First team all star selections doesn't bode well.
  20. Don't be so lazy and look at the goalies in the hall.... It's fairly obvious that cups and Vezinas get you in there in the last twenty years anyways.
  21. I've never heard save percentage as a factor but hardware definitely is. No Vezinas and no Harts or Stanley cups = no HOF ... As much as Cujo and Luongo have had brilliant careers they hold goalies to a different standard to get in the hall.
  22. Do you think he is going to hall of fame on total wins alone? I don't see it.
