That's what people said about Joe Niewendyk when the flames traded him for a prospect named Iginla...after a couple years no one cared about Joe anymore.
For the style of hockey that Trevor played I can't imagine him hiring a GM or holding on to a coach that is the opposite. And I can't imagine any GM that gets hired would not want to start with his own choice for coach,
Been hearing a bit about the possibility of Gillis staying on as President and another person comes in as GM. Could certainly see this option being used.
I'm not sure he will be here long. I bet by the beginning of next season if he is still here, the rope is getting short. First 20 games could mean his job if the team struggles or is already in a battle for 8th place. I don't think the owner will sit by and let the team languish too long.
McLean was not traded by Quinn, he was gone before Iron Mike traded him. Russ Courtnall was traded because of impending free agency and couldn't agree on a deal. Him and Tikkanen were both near the end of their career anyways and weren't a loss.
What i see is a lot of emotion because Luongo didn't start which is expected on a Canucks forum. I think if people remove the 'homer' glasses they will see there is no downgrade in using Price in goal instead. It's all about Canada as a team.
I'm sure on the other side of the country there are lots of fans wondering why Hamhuis is playing and not the Norris winning Subban playing on defense instead.
You haven't got a clue what happened back then you are looking foolish now. Linden had 40 points in 49 games and before his knee was blown out after 20 games or so was on pace for his highest totals yet.
Next year was the Keenan fiasco and him getting traded, then his offence was over but he never backed down from anyone as you claim. I doubt you even watched hockey then from your ill informed comments and lack of knowledge from that time. Your bass solo is very out of tune!
Umm if you are out of the lineup you are not getting points, when you come back fom injury, you never start off playing like when you left. figure it out bass man! Did you even follow the team back then, I can't imagine you did.
40 points as in the year he played for Team Canada and then blew out his knee early in the season? Or the next year where he had to deal with a pulled groin and then was under Keenan's wrath after coming back ? He was selected for the Olympic team by guys who don't cue bass solo's! Stick to the bass guitar your hockey memories are very weak
