  1. He must be among the leaders in all time losses now isn't he? That should help get him to the HOF!!
  2. So explain how the " media and fans" made this happen... Do you remember saying that earlier as the reason?
  3. newsflash... That is not being run out of town! He always said how much he loved the fans here, go dream up another theory!
  4. run out of town? lol, he was under contract for a long time but wanted to play in Florida. How is that getting run out of town? i hope sometime in the future that both Cujo and Lui get in to the HOF despite no veins or a cup... Both big time goalies on unfortunate teams at the time.
  5. There are seldom guaranteed franchise players in the draft. Just take a look back at the top five picks in the last 30 years and look at all the average players produced.
  6. Honestly I didn't follow him after he left Van but when he was here he showed great potential but his very soft play limited his performance. Turning away from any contact and dishing the puck when a player came at him made him no friends here. Courtnall and him had a big skirmish at practice in his last year and Geoff said to the extent that Nedved needed to grow up and want to win hockey games. It worked out well in the end for both parties though .
  7. In all fairness the first five picks of that draft were all consensus can't miss prospects. The Flyers were ecstatic that Ricci fell to them as he was long rumoured to be number one that year. Nedved was a dominant force in junior, seemed like the real deal at the time.
  8. Sounds like Petr Nedved when he was rookie of the year and then got drafted second overall.
  9. You can also keep writing what you want...I appreciate you love Ehlers and his game and I totally respect your opinion. All I'm saying is that I doubt that is the player that Linden and co. Will be targeting at the draft.
  10. I am pretty sure Linden will not be picking Ehlers. Now maybe Benning or the next GM will want to but I doubt it as I'm sure Linden will hire a GM with the same vision,
  11. I could definitely see Burke taking Ritchie with his pick ahead of us. The draft never unfolds as central scouting has the picks laid out, there are always surprises.
  12. I like what I have seen and heard about Ehlers but I'm not sure he is the kind of pick that Linden would jump to if he is still available. I do see both Ritchie and Virtanen as more of players that Linden will pick.
  13. Do you have an example of this happening before or is this just some idea of yours. I have never heard of it being done before and wonder how they could even possibly enforce what you are saying.
  14. I don't understand all these posters talking about a clause to not be part of the draft... never seen or heard about it before but because it involves canucks, they know an answer.
  15. Ahhh no, this is the reason he broke the news... because it is happening today.
  16. That's a very good question. Sharks are in the same spot as Canucks were. I really think they are faced with moving one of the two of Marleau or Thornton or face the risk of falling stats and the team falling as well. I would not envy Doug Wilson's job right now!
  17. Newsflash to you... MG was fired because he brought in Torts and not new players. Pretty sure the new GM is going to have a mandate to change things dramatically.
  18. I think Torts should stay but they should move him into DJ Dave's place, maybe he has a better choice of music because DJ Dave sucks! Or move him into PR department. Don't keep him as coach though.
  19. You would do well to listen to what Deb is saying, her knowledge of hockey far exceeds the opinions you spew. For the last couple years you have been going on about how Booth is the guy and that the defense of the Canucks is stacked and tops in the league... yeah ok, look at them now. What has Booth done since he's been here? What did our stacked defence do last year?
  20. Slow down there cowboy, before we give a long list of accolades to a parted GM let's think first. Giving Gillis credit for back to back Art Ross Trophys and a Selke Trophy is so wrong. He had nothing to do with it, that was the player's themselves and nothing more. If MG had brought these players into the team, different story. Now with back to back President Trophys, do you really think that is something everyone will remember? I don't, i think everyone remember's game 7 in the final but no one will care about first overall in a few years. The one easy argument though is that with two Art Ross winning players and a Selke winner it was their dominance that was the biggest part of being the top team in the league so MG is losing again. The one thing he did do very well was take two high quality goaltenders and squander them away.
  21. Lol i could see him very drunk right now! Homeless i doubt... but very drunk and red faced.
  22. Can't see Nicholson being interested in a job unless he was in charge of everything.
