  1. Baertschi will never be a 3rd line player, he's a top 6 LW and only a top 6 LW. Calgary tried to play him everwhere but in that role, lets not make the same mistake of not giving the kid a shot at his natural role. Not every player needs to be amazing defensively. Pretty sure Kane doesn't play D, just look at what happened for LA when they picked up Gaborik last year. I'm so very tired of people trying to turn elite offensive players into something they aren't because they don't know how to use them.
  2. People saying the Hitmen are a questionable organization know absolutely nothing about the WHL. Are they as good as other years this season? No, but they are a very highly regarded CHL club.
  3. I thought he had a couple real nice games then didn't get to play last night. It's too bad, I think in a game where the team is blowing leads 3 different times purely because of poor defensive coverage or giveaways a guy like Bo could have shown what he can bring to the team if he was given an opportunity.
  4. Level 21-24 is the hardest part during leveling up. Once you get to 25 you seem to get all sorts of stuff. For you guys at level 21, you have to be doing all your bounties every day. You can do just vanguard or just crucible (obviously both would be optimal) but you've got to be leveling something. You will be the last people in the game to get to a full legendary set if you just hope for loot drops to get you legendaries. If you are doing something and there's a bounty for it you could be doing that you aren't, you're doing it wrong. Make sure when you are doing your bounties you are not turning them in one at a time, do all the bounties from the game mode you like every day and turn them all in together or at least a minimum of 4 at a time. If you do it this way you will usually get an exotic bounty every 2-4 days. Even though the exotic weapons are disappointing they will still be much better than anything you've got in most cases and their dps will help you beat harder content. You always want to be doing the hardest stuff you can get through, if you're 21 do level 22 strikes. I play on ps4 generally, but just recently started a character on xbox to play with some friends. It took me 4 days to get to level 27 because I did my bounties correctly and was playing content 1-3 levels higher than my character. Granted I knew exactly what to do and exactly what I needed for weapons and tactics but it is possible to play above your character. The loot drops are random, but especially when you are in that 20-24 range you have to grind out stuff above your character level if you want better gear. Make sure you're getting your strange coins and motes of light as well, both an exotic weapon and armor piece from xur every week is stupidly easy to get and will dramatically speed up the process.
  5. I don't get the decision to pull him up so he can't play for Utica on Sunday, then not play him last night. The kid needs to play as much as possible.
  6. Agree completely. Matthias has been getting better and better and is much faster than Kassian, who was hands down the worst player in a Canucks jersey again last night. It's a good spot for Bo to be in because any line he plays on is going to have players that can make a play, the days of no names on our 4th line seem to be over for now. The tough part is he's going to have to play much better than he has at any point to take a roster spot, and he's going to have to do it in 2-3 games while on probably the hardest road trip in the NHL.
  7. Why shouldn't he be judged on what he does with the Comets? All the Comet players are judged on what they do with the comets, if he is better than Gaunce, Shinkaruk, and Jensen and more NHL ready, that should be obvious in his time in Utica. It is not.
  8. I think it's pretty obvious the rule for AHL eligibility needs to be changed. Horvat going back to junior, getting way too much ice and developing bad habits to conserve energy again does nothing for his development. He belongs in the AHL, and there's many many players that end up going back to junior when they have nothing to gain. It's something that needs to be revisited. That said, Philly started couturier on their 4th line and there may not be a better comparison to Bo in the league so...
  9. Tanev is never going to be anything offensive, he telegraphs every shot because he doesn't have those offensive instincts. You watch, every time he gets the puck in a position to shoot he pauses because he doesn't know what to do with it. You can't teach that part of the game. Love the guy, but wake up dreamers.
  10. There's no way he makes it, sure his faceoffs would be nice since that's going to be a problem area this year, but he has no idea what to do with the puck at this level. Jensen continues to be our best prospect and should make the team, Shinkaruk isn't far behind and Bo isn't even close to either of them. We don't need a 9th overall penalty killer, back to junior where he can get all his bad habits back again. Awful trade.
  11. Just a heads up, when you hit level 16 you unlock strike playlists that start at level 18 difficulty. The rewards are Vanguard gear! As for the game, i'm in heaven.
  12. I think people are sleeping on the Titan, sure it was the worst of the classes in the beta but we only got 1 ability. The ward of dawn shield the Titans get is going to change things quite a bit. I do not expect PvP to be even remotely the same with all the new abilities available and Titan now being a legit tank class. That said, I was a Hunter in the Beta and i'll continue to be a Hunter. I said previously in this thread, if you have faster reflexes than most people this class will reward you with it's speed, agility and damage. Of course Warlock is the most popular for the damage you can deal, but you can't take hits so you'll need to be very tactictal about how you play. It's all just a matter of picking the class that suits your skillset. Can't wait for midnight!!
  13. Sad, it's over. At least The Last Of Us Remastered comes out in 2 days, should hold me over for a bit.
  14. I will be doing iron banner at 7, possibly with a clan but if not i'm down.
  15. I was doing okay with level 5/6 gear in my first iron banner and around 100 defense. My 2nd go I was maxed out with 62 attack weapons and 160+ defense and pretty much crushed it. My first 30 games I think I averaged .30, I was awful but i'm up to .90 now. Once I found the right set up i've been around 1.5 K/D, but I leave a lot of games if i'm playing with randoms. Everyone seems to just want to run in circles instead of just controlling the map, it's very frustrating constantly having to defend by yourself against 3 or 4 enemies.
  16. Some stuff is supposed to carry over from Iron Banner, forget where I read it but it was a bungie quote before the first event. I've been operating under the assumption that was the entire point of having a 2 hour event in a beta.
  17. I am on if anyone wants to play, don't care what mode. Forgot to mention in my big long winded post, keep an eye out for Iron Banner events and try to get in them. This is how you get rewards that you will get to carry over to the full game release. Make sure you take Iron Banner Bounties into Iron Banner Mode. Also Iron Banner means your gear/weapon levels count, in crucible they are autobalanced.
  18. PS4: FaceShots__ two underscores
  19. With the Beta down for 2 days for maintenance, thought i'd share my thoughts. My first one, i'm absolutely in love. This is the game i've been waiting for forever. Space, Mass Effect, Cod, Halo with the depth of skyrim all rolled into one. There are only a couple PVP maps with basically only domination as a mode and 6 chapters on part of earth in the story mode. So yes, that could get repetitive, but this will likely be one of the least repetitive finished products ever made. PVP is as smooth as COD yet as innovative as Mass Effect multiplayer, and the learning curve is steep, but the player customization and sheer depth of everything in this game is akin to Skyrim. PVP rewards skill and teamwork, you can play any style or use any tactic and be successful if you are skilled. I love that and that there is a way to counter everything. Here's a brief breakdown of the classes as they are in the beta so you can get right down to business when you start your game up. Hunter: My preferred class, speed and lethality. Basically a Rogue class, if you are like me and are quicker and more accurate on the sticks than most people this class will reward you. Quick, shifty movements paired with accuracy and lethal offense. Picture Batman sifting his way through baddies. The Golden Gun power will either have you shrieking with delight or acknowledging your impending doom if you are on the wrong side of it. Warlock: Sort of a Mage class, if I wasn't so suited to a Hunter i'd be a Warlock. This is very much a Mass Effect type of character with it's biotic/tech type attacks. It's a pretty average class for weapon use, but it's biotic/tech attacks are devastating. Basically it has the biotic explosion of the N7 Fury from Mass Effect 3, which is extremely useful. Titan: If you are a hardcore COD player, or military tactical type player this is for you. Also, it's a tank class. You won't be jumping off walls or using speed and shadows as your ally. You're going in straight lines outlasting anyone you meet head on. Your first "Power" is Havoc, which is essentially the same potent ground smash of the ME3 Vanguard. Save it and use it to turn the tide in your favor or clear control points, preferably on multiple enemies. As for the story and free roam, it's just as good as the PVP. Again, what you can do is limited to one section of earth and just 6 chapters in the beta, but we know Bungie does this as good as anyone, and it's all co-op. Even if the Beta if you look hard enough there is hidden loot all over, hidden dungeons with invincible bosses, and ways to induce hoard mode and ramp up the difficulty which is the best way to get good gear. We haven't even left earth yet...There are ships and speeders, you don't need these unless the game is going to be massive. IMO both the Destiny campaign and PVP are going to be amongst the best and most rewarding I've ever seen, I've played games that were one or the other but not both. I had high expectations for this game, but they were immediately absolutely smashed.
  20. He might, but not for 4 years which is the minimum Miller will want with a full NTC.
  21. The sabres being my 2nd team and all, going with no on this one. Miller is a great goalie, but when you just traded a dick should your next move be adding a bigger one? If you guys thought kesler was bad..
