I don’t know how much term Hronek has left on his contract, but, I’m thinking McWard would be slated as his successor. Assuming he not only develops, but excels at Abottsford.

I don’t think he’s “a no fun coach” like Keenan or Tortorella. I actually like Torts and wish it had worked out for him in Vancouver. I don’t think Tocchet’s coaching resume allows him to be as freewheeling as Boudreau, nor is his personality as endearing as AV. I just think he’s concentrating more on (re)establishing stability, standards and structure for this organisation. Ultimately, isn’t that what we all want?

Celly’s are more generational, I think. I’m a handful of years younger than Tocchet and I don’t get excited by them, either. I rather enjoy the act-like-you’ve-been-there-before approach, but, I’m not critical of the opposite. I used to love watching Subban with MTL, but, admittedly, a lot of that was because so many were piling on him for supposedly disrespecting the game or whatever the narrative was.

THIS!! I had time for Alex Auld. I don’t recall the exact timeline, but, I think Hirsch was added after him, right? Either way, he was an absolute abomination. Not to make light of his struggles with mental health, but, I half-think the Miller extension must’ve pushed Hirschy over the edge.

It’s “supposed to be fun to watch”? Never in my life have I ever said that with regards to my preferred sports teams. Again, I just want them to win, regardless how they do it. You don’t recall the trap-era Devils? It may not be “entertaining” for fans, but that’s not the players problem to worry about. Nor should it be.

I will never understand fans - we don’t play in the games - moaning because they’re not entertained. Same goes for the SN650 guys between periods. It’s not the job of the players and coaches to not be “boring”. They’re tasked with winning. First and foremost. Personally, I don’t give 3 you-know-what’s if the Canucks play “boring hockey” tonight. Just as long as they win. And, to hell with the draft lottery. I want to see them play with pride. Hopefully Tank Nation will get that rather than whining about positioning this summer.

Would rather see the Canucks go the in-house route with Karlsson. A legitimate RH top-6 C will have to be a mandatory acquisition in return for Miller this summer.

Hopefully he impresses in camp next season. 3C is going to be up for grabs. Him being RH definitely works in his favour.

It’s not by any means the most original, but, I specifically mentioned the 40th anniversary edition. The entire uniform, not just the logo.

Even if 30 of the remaining 31 teams were also named Vancouver Canucks, that 1 team that isn’t would land the top pick.

As much as I’d love to see the franchise distance itself from the current logo and kit, if they’re not going to go full-time retro with the absolutely spectacular 40th anniversary stick-in-rink kit, I’d be more than okay with black skate instead. The current orca kit just has too much negativity associated with it. Needs to be gone.

“We” don’t. Even if the Canucks finished with the absolute worst record in the league, you already know the team with the 2nd worst would somehow end up getting the first pick.
