  1. Can only imagine of we lost.. Canucks nation would have had a melt down, even though we're missing Mik and Boes plus no JT... Tear it down!! Fire BB fire JR!! (Much like after losing 2 in a row in reg season)
  2. can hardly wait to see Mike back on the ice.. speaking of ice, happy that, that kind of speed opens up the ice for linemates to set up.. Hope it's Kuz and whoever else Bruce chooses.. Hopefully Pods but anything can happen
  3. So in other words, we should ice the signed nhl players and not bother to see where the other guys are at? Genius!
  4. I really like the look of the 4th line but Dickie better get a move on, he looked slow but he should be able to pick it up a bit but we need him to be his old self from Dallas or he won't play much. And Kuz? Can't wait to see him and Mick play together. I think people forget pre-season is mostly to see where the young guys a look to see how their progressing (or not) and slowly bring in regs to get them ready, and send down the rest. I'm not concerned at all, it's not like we're a team that's been playing together for years. People need to relax...
  5. Well we needed D as we do now... But we were further behind by miles then, and it hurt, whenever Tanev and Edler went down as they did often that cost us so many games simply because there was no farm at all, let alone a quality Dman to step in and at least move everyone up a notch so that was a huge problem that we HAD to address and OJ seemed like the right guy, wicked wrist shot, good vision and looked to be a cpl of well coached years away from top 4 D where everyone had him, EVERYONE, even the online hacks.. all said top 4 D quality and we needed that a lot more. I get your point but at the time we all thought he would turn into that no matter where he landed. Well proves one injury can screw everything and same with Rous, before his injury, he was awesome! We're cursed I swear... Anyway it's all over now so finally we get to keep and develop our own guys for a change. I'm still shocked that would happen here. I thought I was doomed to watch the same ole sell the farm crap forever...
  6. Well if OJ didn't have the only injury that affects your latteral movement then we'd be fine but he's not the kid who tore up the OHL, I'd rather just pick for position unless someone else is willing to take it off your hands later for a D in our case...
  7. Well I for one are certainly glad we didn't trade JT just to get a better pick out of the draft that was pretty weak to begin with. That would have been a huge mistake! Saying our drafting since Gillis was garbage is a huge mistake too, Petey stepped right in to the NHL, no ahl development needed, Hughes same, among others but until a few years ago our roster sucked as bad as the farm because simply we had so many previous locked in players it took years to get them all off and not to mention Luongo re-cap that costed us 3.3 every year in cap which would have helped but that ship sailed and there's no one left of that broken team 2012, we have a decent roster and now we don't have to sell the farm at all now and we can keep ALL of our picks FOR ONCE!!! People don't seem to see how bad it really was after we lost 2012.. What a shi_ show.. well that's done finally.. we're ok, really we are.
  8. Coco.. don't know where to begin but were you on holidays before the draft when many of us were calling for that and huge discussions for and against? I voted go all in for D starting last draft and finish with another and possibly one more depending on what position in the draft if there are quality prospects to be had or not. So it'll probably lean in that direction at least from now on but we still have trade bait BUT we HAVE to do that since the cap hasn't done anything yet.. we need ELC's to keep paying forwards top dollar (ish) to keep them. At the end of the day it will be quite the switch from old days of selling the farm for a depthless roster that never got a single cup. You'd think after all those years people would stop demanding a one and done...
  9. Although being a short sample size so far on Mikeyev, Kuzmenko, Joshua, and Lazar. What are you thoughts so far on them? We didn't get to see to much of Mick but I loved his speed and tenacity.. And on a sidenote, Rathbone as well, in general because he isn't new this year... I got to see 2 out of the 4 games and only got to watch parts of the 2 I got to see but from what I saw saw was Rathbone playing pretty good and solid moving the puck well but again I don't know if that was consistent so far or not in most of the minutes he's played. My opinion from what limited game I saw, is that all 4 are exactly what we need to help compliment the core and huge upgrade from last year. However the pre-season is sort of annoying having to wait to watch this team with the full roster. Thoughts?
  10. Yeah!!! If we don't get it together all today, rip it down!! Trade everyone!!! P.S. (Oh yeah we haven't lost 2 in a row yet in reg season)
  11. That wouldn't happen, by then the end of the pre-season the players who get more consistency get ice time, and whoever doesn't doesn't get ice time or much of it. And from experience playing with the Powell River Regals, coming back back from a long summer even in shape it took me over 2 weeks for everything to be back in sync and it surprised me because I'd biked all summer, weights, and even floor hockey but it still took 2-3 weeks so I remember it to this day. So picture what to that would be like in a league that's the fastest in the world. If it were on that easy, some guys take longer to get going but as long as they hit season start with NHL speed and thinking, what's the problem? It's a part of hockey... We might not like it but unfortunately it is what it is, players are only human...
  12. It's called PRE season for a reason, BB wasn't even sure of who he was going to put out there for lines, the Mick goes down, Boeser down, we have new ahl guys who need a look by BB to see where they are in the curve. So how can you come up with a accurate view of how the season is going to go from that exactly?
  13. If we have to depend on D scoring instead of just them focusing on keep the puck out of ours we're seriously in trouble. However there's enough fire power up front and that's a non issue. Sounds like someone's been listening to too much sports media in Vancouver again, worst sports media in the entire league, useless beyond belief. I'm over been shocked at how bad media is in Vancouver but most of the shock has worn off and I accepted how bush league it truly is but maybe on day it'll change, sadly people fall for it, especially sell the farm for a one and done cup run, lil bit difficult with a roster with no depth when injuries hit in the playoffs and falls flat and no cup AGAIN. I wish people would stop listening to their opinions and have the balls to think it through on their own and see how full of shite they really are. However hats off to those who don't drink their cool-aid.. Anddddd it's not out of JR's scope to pull a trade, it's not like the trade deadline has passed. If Bruce does his job and the whole team plays a tighter 200' game then that won't be much of a issue, so far BB has done a decent job of getting players to buy in but we're still new as a team with the new faces plus pre-season so I wouldn't go passing judgement just yet..
  14. Kuz seems def like advertised so far, dynamic is a good word to describe him and out works other guys and out thinks them, impressive..
  15. Newsflash from seasons end and Kuz averages 3 points a night for 200+ points... Oilers and the other losers in the Kuzmenko sweepstakes lose their shi_! Goes down as one of the biggest larcenies in Canucks history!!! Ok well I'd be happy 50-60-70 points actually, he looks like it easy but great tiny sample size, if he gets better as we all suspect he will, wow this could be insane. I want to see him with Mikeyev and Podz/Bo
