  1. You know, your right BUT in my thoughts, we need this as experience and we need all we can get, we're just starting to click, like last season when Bruce took over and simplified everything which Green should have done, there's a thing called over-coaching and Green was prime example but when Bruce took over and just let them play a simple style it worked, and by that time the new players had some time to get used to the team and as far as that goes, seems to me the process is a lot more further along, not 30 games in or whatever it was. It's actually up to the forwards to support the D for any success at all and they seem to be doing that more each game but I'm sure they started practicing that more and it's paying off..
  2. Ok don't be a killjoy!! Lmao! But yes I get the cap thing, as much as it kills me to say this, if we can't afford him, a RHD and a pick/prospect if he hits the moon by trade deadline but i hope it doesn't come to that. I think this season is much like last season, it took awhile to get to know the new guys, not withstanding Green's over complicating which made it even worse. We're sort of in the same boat-ish but finally (slowly) getting it back. I think with a few more games and practices things will get better... It's not like we have a completely built team with lines of years of experience together. That's the last thing we've had in quite some time but tonight was a step in the right direction! We have to stop telegraphing though, it's killing is a 1000 tiny cuts and lay off the penalties ffs! However the forwards are back more in support which is helping but it clearly needs work..
  3. You knew it was coming right? Those flashes of brilliance we've seen without any puck luck, hitting post's and justtttt missing but the amount of times it happened, it was just a matter of time before he'd start to light the red light up on a constant basis, yes his D game needs a work but he's new and adjusting nicely but I'm confident he'll improve that part. Pretty happy with the steal that landed in our laps especially since we sorely needed it. All in all, it was fun watching him get wound up and ready to fire! Still love the AK-47 bit, but he's 96 I know but Kuz sure knows how to rifle em! Happy hatty day Kuz!!
  4. This is why I was/am behind the Kuz signing.. knew it was just a matter of time, too much drive and skill to fail! Bet he's got quite the new hat collection!
  5. Omfg! Telegraphing for us is a major problem still, it's giving up way too many goals and scoring chances... Hold it, hold it... Hold it..... Look right at your target and wonder why it gets picked off and we get scored on. This has got to stop ffs!!
  6. Ok from a long standing view of watching out government $hit show bending over to the USA in things like softwood lumber and the tariff war, selling out our water for next to nothing, the Avro Arrow jet fighter fiasco (not recent but still) After watching this for 5 decades, all I can think of is, not only do we have a government that's incompetent at the best of times and instead of running Canada like a business and making revenue that way instead of jacking the shite out of tax payers pockets to the majority of it. Yes we do make some percentage but not anything like it could be. However, in shock, I just finished reading Canada has ordered Chine to sell all their shares in 3 major mining companies here in Canada! I never thought I'd see that, why don't we do all that ourselves in my major question, what comes out of these three that we as a country would profit off is not something vague or a maybe, lithium, cadmium, nickel and cobalt. Perhaps you heard of those! Lol With green battery power taking a huge step forward on the world's energy stage the last thing we need to be doing is giving 2nd user end profit to someone else when we can't even afford to raise social rates to the property line and that's about 1% of this countries issues that have never been addressed because the same old harsh income tax base idea keeps us afloat but just barely and it keeps going up to where just getting by is turning into survival unless you make a 6 figure income which is dwindling as well. Our system of the running the country clearly isn't working to anywhere near it could be but that's nothing new. Seriously although our government is showing some balls for a change, we need someone new in and a new upgraded economic system in place. We're one of the most richest resource rich countries, there's no excuse for this. Yes it's been scandal after scandal over money spent by the government like it's water but still people seem to think, it could be worse and turn a half blind eye. Yes as true as that is, it could also be a LOT better too. So at least Kudos for once to them, I wish they'd grow the balls and brains to turn Canada into a economically successful country and actually drop taxes and not just little drops. Wouldn't that be something!
  7. Well after watching Bear feed McD and Drais enough times and scoring some himself, and grit. As long as he doesn't hesitate much with the puck to get it out quickly then I don't see what giving him a chance to shine again.. That's our main D problem, hesitant first passes that allow opposing forwards to get in and force turnovers or cause penalties which cost us at least 4 of our games so far. D positioning and forwards back for accepting easy short passes instead of being too far away from the D to support looking to get free for long stretch passes. In my mind it's still a matter of killing old habits brought in by Green that are still with us to some degree. That's why playing a simpler game of short tick tack toe passes up the ice that Bruce brought in instead of stretch passes, that brought instant success but it seems to me that old way of playing still needs to get out of our heads. I think once our confidence is fully back, that will fade more but we seem to be supporting our D better but it still needs work. Bear wasn't here for that so seems like a good situation in that way.. Hope it works out is all I can say about anything these days involving the team...
  8. Yeah I played D when I was young, I remember how that felt but now they have incredibly better skates so... Let's hope...
  9. He's not wrong though I disagree with anyone having a good show these days... Always blowing shite out of proportion, and then there's MacIntyre.. omg that guy is as painful as John Garrett ffs... Oh well...
  10. Being a Canucks fan almost feels like work after games, now I feel as though to kick my work boots off and grab a shower...
  11. Yeah look at all that friggin D "INJURED!" I do question on the trade for a center who isn't really proven for MD would have made me yawn but adding Myrenberg to that? Not sure I'm a fan of that at all and why even do it for a forward when we need D? Maybe there's more to him than his numbers show that caught someone's attention.. idk P.S. any team in the NHL down 4 D-men, they wouldn't be doing well either! It's amazing we've been actually IN games and ahead at times instead of destroyed.. Relax!
  12. Why can't we sign guys like that who can intimidate AND play hockey really well? Think it's something along the lines of the whole league after guys like that... And Ripper would say otherwise, he played ok and began to scare bigger players than him after knocking a few down but I miss the days of when Brash and Tryamkin were here, I'm not sure what was my favorite, Brash laying a beating on Marty or Tryamkin throwing around the Dallas Stars like they were man-sized Ragdolls.. Although he's not scary, Joshua went toe to toe with Ryan Reeves and looked ok doing it and yes it's on YouTube if you want to see it. Anyway, we've had a few decent playing tougher guys but I think my fave is Tryamkin, that man was BIG and nasty when angered.
  13. I would IF I thought we needed one but we don't, do we need roster changes? Yeah but first we have to start supporting D so we stop hanging D and Demko out to dry anymore but seems to me that Bruce is working on that and if it took this long for it to become the focus it was worth it. The team that balances that the best wins the cup so if we work hard on it now the less the losses later when it's more important. I'm not all that concerned about the way things have gone, I expected with the new guys and the injuries, we'd be slow out of the gate and huge losses but the games were a lot closer than I thought they'd be. The biggest win for us without a doubt is Kuz, with a bit more puck luck that guy is going to score some beauty goals and I actually hope he doesn't go too crazy and price himself off the team but that being said, I sure like what I see from him and he's still adjusting. IF we're going to rebuild, because of how tough the playoffs are, we need the equal amount of toughness balanced in as well but skilled toughness. Anyway, my panic button is collecting dust, maybe 10-15 games in and we still haven't done much I might consider giving it a "slight twp" but for now... Just waiting to see how fast we turn it around
