  1. I agree... Along with 20 assists for 43 points.... AND 210 hits!
  2. Hahaha!... I edited my post but you caught the jist right off the bat! I could see Gadj move up to 3rd line and have Virt and Goldy swap 2nd line to 4th based on team they're playing.
  3. We're getting somewhere finally. This line up has some potential. Exciting times.
  4. Lots of success so far with NCAA players including Tanev, Stetcher... Free agents. This is a game changer though. Love the high skill, high ceiling, players we're drafting in first round! What # do you think he'll wear? What is it.... 43 or U.S.A. #?
  5. Thanks.... Part of why I enjoy coming to cdc... Somebody's got the right info.... Well, in this case at least! Hellebuyck and Vasilevskiy may be part of the future dominate group of goalies. Along with Demko of course!
  6. Yah Fleury had a Vezina kinda year (probably wins it this year?) for sure.... Just not seeing consistently dominating consecutive seasons by any goalie these days. Regardless I like seeing more goals in games now. Much more entertaining. This years SC final was lots of fun to watch!
  7. Well put.... A bold statement indeed. If you are correct then the Nucks will finally hoist the cup. Like Holtby, if Demko can develop into (bare minimum) a 'clutch' goalie then that should be enough, because I believe the team is drafting and developing the right way. Is it just me... Or are there no 'lights out' goaltenders right now? Sign if the times? Related to equipment change? What I'm getting at is maybe the days of the dominant goalies are over... Throwback to the goalies of the 80's (Grant Fuhr). Thoughts?
  8. 1+ I believe he'll make the time out of training camp. If he doesn't get hurt... I think he'll end up being a better version of a Marner type of guy. Elite creativity and seeing the ice. Slowing or speeding up game tempo by himself. And have a lethal shot. This will be fun. It may take some time... but I don't think long.
  9. Yup that was the one! On the goal line. It was such an anticipated match up but ended up being the most lopsided one with Boz never recoving from it. Yes I agree, Bo Jackson was the most pure all around athlete in our time or any? The guy never even hit the gym! Like ever! Hated it... Just a specimen.
  10. Right.... I didn't watch Jake while in Utica but it showed in the corner battles and how he'd zero in to the puck carrier last year, that he seems to be 'getting it'. I think Green has the right idea on how Virt can be most effective in the NHL and more specifically the Canucks. On that note.... Does anyone see Virtanen possibly becoming similar to a Kesler, do to his wheels and potential pk abilities? I don't know if he will ever have the same compete or drive level Kesler did but close maybe? Sorry this should probably be asked in Virtanen thread.... Next time! Lol
  11. Well thin skinned or not, you're a true fan. I knew about Pete during his USC days but wasn't paying attention during his stints in NY or NE. Didn't know about his records while he was at those places. For me, I enjoy the building process the most... Obviously when its done well. So right now I'm excited to see them revamp their running game. In hoping Penny is the real deal. Carson can take 3rd downs and hopefully Prosise can stay healthy and be the utility back. Having a fullback scheme implemented should help too. I can go on and on because of all the new faces.... In relation to impact, hopefully this draft class is a lot like the 2012 one!
  12. Thanks for info... That makes sense. Defensively he improved dramatically last year, and think if he continues down that path, he may become an elite pk specialist that can create breakaways and generate some short hand goals. Like you say LE is a good roll model for him.
  13. I didn't watch Pete while he was coaching Jets... Probably a good thing... I'll take your word for it. He and Schneider built that SB winning team together so I'm hoping they can duplicate it (or something close to it) again. I'll check in with you next season and discuss it with you then. Cheers!
  14. I wonder why Travis didn't use Jake more on his off wing last year. He did quite a bit in Utica right?
  15. I'm one of those 'life long fans'. Started watching them when I lived down there 1986-88. Dave Kreig, Curt Warner, Steve Largent.... and unfortunately I saw Brian Bosworth get run over by Bo Jackson! Those were the days! Lol. Lots of losing for a lot of years. I never fully stopped watching but didn't follow as close through the 90's. Paid closer attention after they went to SB in 2005. I watched them draft ET and the next year all the others (LOB) were drafted (I think?) except Bobby Wagner/KJ Wright (year later). Anyway I had a good feeling about Russel but didn't expect all of them to become so good so quickly. Sooo amazing to watch them win SB! Unfortunately all anyone talks about now is not giving the rock to Beast Mode.... A mistake for sure but PC is that kinda coach that takes risks from time to time... And that one sucked! Oh well... I like what they're putting together now. Got rid of the malcontents and bringing in a bunch of new blood. Here's to hoping! Regardless I'll be here ON THE BANDWAGON. Go Hawks!
  16. Is this what you come up with? You have 880 posts.... is this your usual type of input.... I'll watch for your future posts and see if you have anything more to offer or is this just sarcasm? Anyway, ironically, he may very well turn out to be like a Ronning in the not to distance future.
  17. The Dallas Calgary trade took place in another time. There was no salary cap back then. You could buy players and make a stacked team if the owner had money to spend (a la Rangers, though it didn't work). Now is a different time, drafting is the ONLY way in the new NHL to stay competitive. No Gillis shouldn't sell the farm to win now. We are close... so close. It may not be necessary to sell off significant prospects in order to win the cup now. If anyone can do it, it's Gillis. I want Ott!
  18. I'm more excited then I've ever been in relation to seeing our young prospects in main camp. Hodgson, Rodin, Archibald, and Polasek. Rodin will be an exciting player for the Canucks in a couple of years.
