  1. The in-house announcer is borrowed from the monster truck rallies
  2. All these years we’ve put up with AHLberta and Leaf homers on the broadcasts.
  3. What I remember from that game (beside the 11-0 drubbing) were the fights. we need another Gerald Diduck!! Kruse looks like a pro typical flame with his haircut lol
  4. Eddie’s takes are awful. He hates Brock, you can’t reason with him. He thinks QH is awful too… a one dimensional dman ther you will never win with… also thinks that klimovich can replace Boeser… yeah klimovich is a decent prospect but he has shown nothing so far that replicates what Brock has done at any level. Just awful hockey takes.
  5. Take his opinions with a grain of salt .. he trashes QH too….
  6. But sutter has never lead an nhl team in scoring. I think you only see what you want to see when it comes to Boeser. He made two money passes that set up Miller. Made good defensive plays and scored a goal in the dirty area. i see you constantly praising hoglander who is far worse in his end than Boeser is right now ( just ask the coach who has commented about this already) and who has never scored at Boesers pace at any level of hockey… it’s kind of a head scratcher
  7. But would you gamble the golden egg on what your sense is of where his head is at. suppose they trade Bo for a package including younger players and the team flounders next year … Miller may want no part in sticking around no matter what he told you a few months ago. He walks and you get nothing or you get less for him during the ‘23 trade deadline coz he’s a rental at that point. My point is the only way to remove the uncertainty is to move him. It’s not about not caring for the player ..
  8. If it’s all about relationships and not business I’m sure you can talk to him so nicely he will take a cheap contact. Gimme a break. The org needs to be strategic and fair.
  9. I don’t want to see Miller traded just like I didn’t want to see Bure traded, Linden traded and even Kesler traded. I remember the empty feeling I had watching post Bure games .. the gut wrenching feeling probably lasted two seasons. Linden and Bure brought back players that changed the path the team took for decades. Just follow the trade tree of Bertuzzi for instance. Miller could do the same. Here is the crux of the matter. Nobody knows what Miller is truly thinking. Will he want to stay? Maybe, maybe not. As a GM and Business operator the only way to remove that variable out of the situation is to move him for a mountain of assets. it’s like owning a stock that’s at an all time high.
  10. Great effort, the big guns showed up.. a nice rebound after losing to McDiver with a depleted roster
  11. What I would do with Brock is offer him a lower base salary than his QO and lace it with performance bonuses. If he continues to be streaky in second half of the season I doubt he would turn it down, ( although he looks great tonight)
  12. Problem is how do you fix the hole on D? Outside of Hughes there Is basically zero offence. Imho you need to give up the asset that will age ahead of the core. Look what we got for our other vets who walked for nothing … can’t take that path again. If Miller can get us a young impact rhd that fits in age wise then I think they should do it.
  13. You make a fair and honest point. I’m looking at Tanev in retrospect. When he went to UFA his durability was questionable. It’s easy for me to say now… it could have been the system that caused a lot of injuries for him. At the time I wasn’t sure. i think my biggest gripe in all of this is the org allowed three players that were pillars of the team for years, and were developed by the team, basically walk for nothing. The salt in the wound is that two went to a big rival where they are key contributors. would a gm with better foresight have been able to get something for these players sometime sooner in their contract lifecycle? This is where we bring in a guy like Miller into the conversation. Do we risk having him walk too… ( I think I know your answer..)
  14. I don’t think he’s missed a game with Calgary. If he has its very few. I think Greens teams sat back and were far too passive. If you are a shot blocking shutdown d man who Plays in such a context I bet the chances of injury are higher… not to mention the teams Tanev played on here were down right bad during some years… chasing the play more often than not was prob hard on his body lol would have been interesting to see him play under Bruce
  15. Give us Tanev back and id be happy. He’s Calgarys best d man and not injured as much coz he isn’t playing the mind numbingly dumb let’s sit back in a passive box and absorb shots like a pin cushion system that Green et al implemented here. Tanev would look pretty good under BB right now.
  16. I think the d is a big part of the problem. Look at Myers and OEL cap hit. What is it.. 12-14 million combined ( I’m too lazy to look up the exact figure). One guy is on pace for 20 points the other for like 15 maybe? These are the next best two guys we have besides QH. When the back end is generating very little the forwards are gonna struggle too. The bottom pair are guys that probably wouldn’t crack many good team rosters as much as they have here. If the d was solid everybody and their dog wouldn’t be thinking of getting a young solid rhd for Miller or Boeser if they were traded, the holes on defence are bigger than the holes in the offence when the roster is healthy.
  17. There is a reason this team was bad last year and is in the position it is in this year. If the D was good as you say they wouldn’t be struggling this much. How many points does our d outside of QH have and where does that rank them in the NHL? Demko has stood on his head more than once, or else they would look worse. this has to be one of the weakest Ds in the conference. The forwards playing aggressively and Demko standing on his head make them palatable on many nights. BB is a smart coach he knows how to cover this major wart. Aggressive forecheck and get in their faces in the d zone. If the roster up front is depleted they look like they did tonight because they can’t carry the play. finally, you have zero clue about my negativity or positivity regarding this team . My posts here have been overwhelmingly positive during this past awful, for the most part, decade. We are out of a playoff spot after almost 8 years of sucking it up and hoping for daylight.
  18. Yup. They need to build from the net out. They have a good starting point with a young franchise goalie, but other than QH all the other guys on d are replaceable. They generate almost 0 offence (outside of 43) and make too many mistakes and aren’t particularly good at anything. Having Bo, Garland and Pearson back allows them to cover the warts on defence because they can carry more of the play when their lines are set…
  19. I’ve been a big Brock supporter but it’s tough watching him this year. The lay offs seem to hurt him where if he’s out for a few games or if they postpone games it takes him like 15 games to get going again. I’m afraid His career is trending like Brad Boyes His shot hasn’t been the same since wrist injury and I have a feeling that he’s been put at the side of the net on the pp instead of out front coz his wrist is hindering him again.
