  1. Mantha's scouting report: Pretty much sums up Perlini's game I just don't understand what Ritchie or Virtanen have that make them a higher pick than Perlini.
  2. Mantha was actually ranked in the top 10 in central scouting (so was Shinkaruk). http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=88636 Mantha fell to 20th, because he was considered a very streaky player and lacked the physical aspect of the game. *cough* Perlini *cough*
  3. Ritchie has over 130 PIM and only 3 misconducts. He takes a lot of stupid penalties, because he gets agitated easily. Lucic has Iginla this year to guide him and yet he still does dirty antics. (This coming from a Lucic fan)
  4. I hope Calgary takes Ritchie, because that would be a waste of a pick on their part. I'm not afraid of Ritchie turning into the next Lucic. Lucic, like all power forwards, you easily get throw them off their game, get under their skin and they'll resort to goonary.
  5. Ummmm, hello? I've been the only guy in here lobbying for Perlini.
  6. Mantha's skill is far superior, but they both find open areas of the ice to score goals. Most of their goals come from off the rushes, or one-timers from the half marks. Both shy away from the physical game, and aren't known for taking the puck to the net.
  7. Had some shoulder problems, that could of hampered his production. I see a lot of similarities between Perlini and Mantha, both viewed as a skilled big body "perimeter" players with a deadly shot and we know how much CDC is in love with Mantha.
  8. No, I want Perlini. Some say he's the best skater in the draft, NHL calibre wristshot, and is an excellent two-way player. If we can't get Dal Colle or Draisaitl at 6th, then we should be looking at Perlini.
  9. I don't get why people have such a hard-on for these "skilled", tough , power forwards. Most, if not, all of these highly touted power forwards never really pan out and if they do, they're nothing more of than a complementary player.
  10. I don't see him standing at the side of the net, aside from one or two goals, in this video. http://youtu.be/U6jLp1eoy_E Its a small sample size, but most of his goals in that video, came from off the rush.
  11. Lay a wallaby baby ball away, Al.

  13. From what I've read. - He's inconsistent and is very streaky. Although I don't see this as a problem, because he plays on a very weak Niagara team. - He doesn't use his big body as often. - Viewed as a perimeter player. Not really a concern, he's a big guy, and could be taught later on to use his body to better his game. He has all the tools to become a 30-40 goals scorer in league.
  14. Ritchie takes too many unnecessary penalties. Just what the team needs.
  15. Pacs was considered a perimeter player, before this season. So, was Jeff Carter and Patrick Marleau in their earlier years. Let's put it this way, you can always teach somehow how to use their body properly to better their game, but you can never teach skillset.
  16. You could say that to just about any player in the draft aside from the top three (Reinhart, Ekblad, and Bennett). Consistently should be a concern for him since he plays on a weak Niagara team. I don't really see that much of a difference between Dal Colle and Perlini, expect for one plays on a stacked Oshawa team, while the other plays on a terrible Niagara team. If Perlini played a full season, he would have scored over 40 goals, 80+ points, and would probably be ranked in the top 5. You shouldn't put too much on being a perimeter player. I mean if you are able to score 30 goals, then who cares where you score your goals from. Jeff Carter, Patrick Marleau, Jeff Skinner, and Max Pacioretty, all are considered comparable to Perlini.
  17. I'm curious to know, what don't you like about Perlini? He got the size, speed, and a wrist shot like a NHL sniper.
  18. But....but....Niedwendyk won a cup for Dallas.
  19. Is that a bad thing? Pacioretty skates well for a big guy. Perlini was on pace for 40 goals this year and would probably be ranked in the top 5, if he didn't go down with an injury.
  20. Where was his leadership in the past 15 or so games?
  21. If we pass on this kid, I won't be pleased. http://youtu.be/U6jLp1eoy_E
