    Obviously I don't know the situation and how he could be involved or not. I also haven't been following the story closely in awhile as its been such a slow process.

     

    It hasn't been talked about much, but I certainly noticed Alex Formenton quietly slipping out of the league as a tendered RFA, I don't think that's a coincidence for a second. 

     

    With that in mind (again not talked about but I'm sure everyone in NHL circles knows), I'd imagine there would be some 'rumors' on this within the industry at the executive level on those players & what could be coming. If there's thought McLeod could be in the cross hairs when this finally drops you certainly back off, otherwise perhaps you pursue it then perhaps there's a way to remove him from the team if something were to arise in the future ala Virtanen.

    If we move Höglander in a package for Pesce and sign Soucy, Cole, Comtois, Mcleod…

    Comtois - Mcleod - Podkolzin

    Joshua - Åman - Studnicka?

    Big fast right hand C that PKs, & young enough to fit with this core moving forward. It's checks alot of boxes.

     

    Also Christian Fischer in Arizona is another guy too that has those attributes & Tocchet knows him.

     

    Yep Mcleod, Comtois, Geekie, Asplund etc., are all guys we should show strong interest in.

    Likely could use a cheaper scoring winger so beauviller would be in the deal.

     

    Maybe beauviller + raty + 2024 1st

     

    But we would have to be sure that we were contending. 

    Beauvillier, one of Höglander/Podkolzin, next years 1st should do it. Maybe a mid level prospect as well if needed.

    He’s been a good player his entire career. I wouldn’t give him 7 years or anything like that but he’d be a welcome addition regardless where he plays.

    I mean 100 points aside you can’t be a Norris finalist while being a liability in your own end. Even the most casual hockey fan would understand that.
