  1. I'd rather not. As Plum mentioned, Nichushkin has one move which requires playing on international ice. That would be fine except his other tendencies also lend him to international play as well. There's raw potential and a hell of a lot of "disinterested Russianness" in his play. He's ultra high-risk and high-reward, while Horvat is low-risk, high-reward. Gilman used the words "Potential Captain" about Bo for an idea of just how impressed the Nucks are with him.
  2. Who cares that we're not on CBC? Shorty and Garrett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ball, Hrudey, whichever other Leafs yes-man commentates. TSN is fine by me too but when I have to watch CBC I regularly consider turning it off midway through. Play Detroit: Datsyuk boner. Play Minnesota: Brodin of all people gets complimented all night. Play the Flames, Baertschi's crap doesn't stink. Not interested.
  3. I assume you mean Playoff Performer since Domi is nowhere near as good defensively.
  4. That's why he'd be playing in Utica if not on the Nucks. The kid is 19 though, curb your enthusiasm.
  5. He plays on the perimeter and regularly fails to get by defenders even with the massive ice. I've watched him have this problem for a while. I'm not saying he can't adapt but when it comes to scoring goals, he does it by going around people not through them. He is remarkably weak on his stick meaning he can't pull off power moves. Quite small defenders who play the body on him might not knock him off his feet but he is almost guaranteed to lose possession when facing a physical opponent. In the AHL he is going to be in for quite a surprise. If he adapts, he's got speed, size and a shot. If not, he's not going to get far.
  6. Sutter sounds like he doesn't like Gaunce. Brendan was a beast that camp.
  7. You sure you meant to post that in this thread? Seems a bit out of place... And I'm pretty decent with Photoshop, just waiting a few weeks until I can change my name (can't do it too often).
  8. "Nobody knows" "You can't know for sure" Laughably indignant but nothing worth saying. "If I'm still typing I haven't been proven wrong, right?" "....Right guys?"
  9. Tanev has no negotiating power. Gillis knows it or would have signed him by now but instead they're not even talking to him. And you think Gillis might overpay. Cool story bro, the "well you can't ever know for sure" defense.
  10. Dat backpedal. He can't file for arbitration and must be released by the Canucks before he can sign elsewhere. This is a game of chicken where MG is in a train and Tanev is tied to the tracks.
  11. Are you high? He's the one laughing while Tanev's agent leaks these made-up rumours.
  12. Tanev's agent is just putting on the full dog and pony show before caving. As these "rumours" leak, the more inevitable Tanev's signing for a reasonable rate becomes. I give it 2 more weeks at this point.
  13. I think this is the point at which you have to accept that, while you have made all reasonable efforts to speak sense, wallstreetamigo's selective reading has taken over. Good luck getting him to acknowledge that his disagreement has been based on his misunderstandings.
  14. I can't speak for oldnews but I feel like you're on the cusp of being extremely insightful but keep falling into the trap of melodrama and trying to weave everything into a big "MG is a failure" narrative. If you just let that go, you would have a lot to say that I'd respect. You're both so close and yet so far from having interesting things to say that it consistently drives me nuts
  15. Haven't you heard? He loves Ballard. Ballard just "never got a chance". It just takes time for him to be won over by those overpaid plugs, preferrably when they've left the team and he can complain about how MG never should have let them go.
  16. Plus Nichushkin has one power move that only works on big ice. Horvat can force a turnover, turn on the jets and go. He gets such quality breakaways because no one can interfere with him most of the time.
  17. Thanks for this gem, Captain Conjecture. Where's your sidekick The Presumption Kid?
  18. I think you mean who is as reliable defensively OR can put up enough points to offset any gaffes of theirs? When you look at it that way, options open up. Although I would definitely rather have Tanev playing next to Edler at even strength and put Garrison with Corrado.
  19. On this we agree. Developing 3rd pairing d-men who play sheltered minutes regardless of upside shouldn't be making morwe than that.
  20. FastHockey is only showing USAHockey's camp as far as I know. There's one game vs Canada but aside from that I don't see any other games or practices of ours.
  21. Ummm...no Hammer alone cost us the series more than Lu ever did. Not to mention he compounded Lu's problems due to his absence.
  22. Puck Daddy>>>>>>>>>CDC This is around where I'd put him, both because of current skill and experience.
