  1. I got asked if I was pregnant yesterday and I felt so awkward but the more I think about it the more annoyed I get. I really wish people would just keep these assumptions to themselves. You dont know someone's history. You dont know that that women you just asked if she is pregnant has had 3 losses and now struggles with infertility.

So please think before asking someone If they are pregnant.

My vet has an office cat named Winston.  He is a Persian.  Sally needed to have some teeth taken out a few years ago, and I was nervous.  We got to the vet, and Winston saw me, and he probably knew I was nervous.  He immediately came over to me, jumped on the chair, and then jumped up on the desk, and stood beside me while I filled out paperwork.

I had a Persian 20 years ago.  His name was Kitty, and loved French bread, gummies, and bite size Twizzlers.  We would sit on the couch after school and snack on them.  It was the only cat I knew that loved those.  One Christmas, he tried to steal my Mother's candy.  Her husband threw a piece of candy to her, and he tried to intercept, and ate the candy wrapper instead.  My mother was concerned, but Kitty was fine.

Awwww Winston sounded so sweet for comforting you when Sally was needing her teeth out.

I love persians they are my favorite breed of cat. My aunt had 2 very shy persians when I was a teen. We would visit them quite alot and they would let me pet them. They were the softest cats ever.

I have to bring Gilly and Discord to get their teeth cleaned but the insurance is making us wait till August to get it covered.

Today I went to the all new cat pet store and I spent so much money on our furbrats.

I'm a crazy cat lady as well!  Little Sally turns 14 tomorrow.  She was born 6/30/2005.

And I think our anniversary together is 8/13/2005.  She was the last kitten there, and on sale for $10!  I packed her home in my bag, and I remember what I was wearing that day.  I was wearing a white shirt with Joe's jeans, and a gold bag.

Awww I am not good a remembering dates but I have paperwork for Discord and Gilly I have her spay and first vaccination records with her actual birthdate. I had to just look this all up in February for insurance purposes.

We actually want a third male kitten or young cat who would be black or dark colored and whom we would name Winston Churchill or Church for short. We want a maincoon mix or a Persian or Himalayan. We probably wont get another one for a while because our landlord hasnt gotten back to us about having a third kitty.

There are a lot of people in our side of the building with 3 cats and one of my friends lives in the other towers and she was told she could get another dog or a cat cause her 2nd pet is a bird.

Technically our building is a 2 pet building but it sounds like they are bending the rules for certain tenants so I will harass him some more.

We are in a 2 bedroom so we have enough space for 3.

  4. So we are taking this online course and one of the modules is on the effects of racism on children and adolescents. We have to watch these videos and as I am watching them and they are explaining about culture and racism. I was reminded about how we as a species can even show racism towards other species (not only are own).

More specifically I thought about how Black Cats are treated. How they are always the last to be adopted from shelters, even as kittens they are picked last. How they are stereotyped as 'Bad luck' or 'Evil' and how some people actually believe this. Or people just dont want them because they are black and black cats are  hard to photograph..

And as a human I seem to care more about animals then other humans because my thoughts went straight to cats and not all the various horrible examples of racism through out history(some of which my family was directly effected by.)

I guess my confession is i am a really a crazy cat lady and proud of it.

Discord cause he is a cutie putie and 'so hard to photograph '

  5. Ever since I concussed myself (on our stupid freezer door) last summer I have had post concussion syndrome issues anytime I (or something ) hits my head or face. I am taking even small things like say your cat hitting you in the face with a paw and boom instant headache and nausea.

Yesterday morning I woke up with a slight headache and feeling flushed (which I thought was the heat- maybe it is??)

I cleaned all mornin yesterday and then as I was putting the vaccume cord away....BOOM ... the edge of the cord smacks me right in the face near my eye/forehead area. Instant neck pain (which is still bothering me), slight headache and then later flushed skin and nausea again. All day yesterday I was worried that post concussion was showing its ugliness but now as i lay here at 6am feeling like total crap I think I just have the flu.

You see one of the little people I work with was sick during the week. I had felt yucky Friday night and Saturday morning but just assumed it was the heat.. I took cold medicine and felt okay till the vaccume cord incident. It wasnt till this moment I remembered I was near a sick person. So yeah screw you post concussion syndrome I'm just sick.

    I confess ~

I got freaked out by a bug in my apartment.  The cat was looking down staring at something, and I cam over and looked down, and there was this wood type bug or something, and I grabbed a paper towel, and picked it up, and I could feel it, and I put it in the toilet, and it swam around, and I flushed the toilet.  Now I am watching the cat to see if she sees anymore of those bugs.  I think I saw another one last week, but that could have been a spider near the door, and I flushed that down the toilet too.  It's too late now to be vacuuming.  I must do that tomorrow.

I feel your bug fear here but at least your cat sort did something by staring at it. And didnt do a  pathetic kitty fail like Discord did.

A few nights ago I walked into the kitchen and there was a HUGE spider (okay it was a daddy long legs) and I was like NOPE so I grabbed our kitty Discord and dropped him in front of the spider and ran out of the kitchen. Do you think that cat would go into spider mode, nope, he followed me meowing for his supper. Meanwhile I am screaming at him to eat the spider.

I agree!  When Sally was 10, she was diagnosed with diabetes.  It was a $1,500 vet bill.  She was kept overnight and ran tests on her.  A few years ago Sally had some teeth removed due to the diabetes, and it was almost $900.  And that's not including the vet appointments, house calls, insulin, and pet sitting.  Sally is almost 14.  She is in remission from the diabetes.  She has kidney disease, which is common for older pets.  There's not much I can do to stop the progression, but there are things I can do to help slow it down  Sally is my pride and joy.  I've had her since she was 6 weeks.

Iam glad Sally is in remission from Diabetes and I hope you are able to keep her as healthy as you possibly can in regards to her kidney issues.

We were shocked  how fast Gillys vet bills  added up.

These kitties snuggle their way into our hearts and then take over Gilly will be turning 8 this summer so she is getting up there in age as well.

We have pet insurance now, which isnt cheap for two cats, but its better then not being able to provide them with vet care at all.

Gilly gave us quite a scare in January when she ate some chicken jerky cat treats  that Santa Claws had brought them for catmas.  shes was vomiting blood and I was half convinced we would lose her and it made me realize just how precious these little kitties are.

Thankfully she was okay and we just got a very big vet bill and have to keep her on a limited ingredient diet

Or a premiumbfood for  food senstivity. We are in the process of switching them over from Hills D/D to Open farm. Hills just killed a bunch of doggos because of the vitamin D recall and so I forced our vet to give us other food options he suggested another brand called Rayne but it was to expensive. Our vet friend reccomend Open Farm when we told her we wanted to switch the cats food and Gillys vet okayed it.

  9. I am not sure how many of you have seen the 2nd trailer to pet semetary remake and now know of the big major plot change they did from the book. I am very conflicted about this change. On one hand I think it kind of makes the whole premise scarier (cause they can do more evil creepy stuff) on the other hand as a Stephen King purist I am not happy with them not faithfully adapting the book and this is a MAJOR change.

Ts and I will still go see it as it looks amazing and its based off  of one of the scariest King novels.

Also Church the Cat looks so good.

I like how the dad of the 3 kids who contracted measles said doctors were saying there may be a link to autism. I'm sure he wasn't at all influenced by any celebrities who think they know more about disease prevention than say a doctor.

Whenever I get a flu shot, I get the flu. The last 2 years without it, no flu. I wouldn't say I am an anti-vaxxer, but I am skeptical.

There isn't an easier way to 'test' a large population than by using vaccination as the means to the end.

Vaccines dont cause autism but let's pretend for a moment they did, why do these idoits think autism is scarier then their child potentially dying from measles or some other childhood illiness? A autistic child is better then a dead child.

Trust me on this nothing is worse then a baby/child dying.

This whole dont vaccinate because if autism debate enrages me.

Concerning the flu shot... it is irresponsible not to get it because of herd immunity. The flu shot has a dead non active strain of the flu in it. It does not have a live virus, you can not get the flu from the flu shot. The flu shot also does not protect you right away (I think it takes 10 days) so it is quite possible for you to get the flu after being vaccinated against it.

As a young teenager I had the mumps. I was so sick and in so much pain. I couldnt eat,  my whole face was swollen. I was one of the lucky ones who recoverd quicky and who did not have any lasting side effects yet I would not wish this on any one.

    Vaccinate your kids people.

Switch to riding a bike for a bit? A lot less impact on the knees and ankles.

Sadly I dont have access to a bike. Swimming probably would be the best but our pools been closed for awhile.  I was thinking yoga cause I could do it at home and it will allow me to continue to work on stengthing my legs. I have noticed such a improvemennt in my flexablity in the laat few weeks and do not want to lose that.
