Now that Microsoft has started to consider Windows 10 more of a service and given it away free to millions of people and businesses, they have gotten quite aggressive on what they force onto the end user.  They really need to kill Cortana.  It's pretty much built-in spyware.

Which program in Windows are you referring to specifically? 

Skype. Rather, they didn't make it but own it now and modify it. I had to go into the registry and delete the keys to get the installer to run properly

Skype's software has always been a pain in the a*s since even before MS bought it.  MS just kept letting them do their thing after they bought them because it's Microsoft.  For a long time I hoped that someone would come along and make a competing backwards compatible OS.  After they gave away Windows 10 for free, my faint hopes were dashed.
