  1. 2nd NHL Seasons (see if you can spot the difference): Tyler Seguin - 81 games, 67 points Owen Nolan - 73 games, 75 points Joe Thornton - 81 games, 41 points Milan Lucic - 72 games, 42 points Jake Virtanen - 10 games, 1 point (29 games, 9 point AHL) All of your "comparisons" took a huge leap forward in their 2nd season in the league. Not to mention that Seguin, Nolan, and Thornton were all 18 years old their first season. The issue isn't with Jake not producing per se. The issue is with Jake not progressing. His rookie season wasn't amazing, but not terrible all things considered. However he has shown little development, and from what we saw in his time with the big club it is arguable that he regressed. That is a problem worth discussing.
  2. When you're a fan of a team with Vontaze Burfict you can't really call other teams out for being dirty. He's the dirtiest player in the league by a country mile.
  3. My predictions for last weeks games were pretty decent actually lol. Didn't count on Pittsburgh getting 6 field goals though.
  4. 34-31 GB: Another shootout, another game winning drive led by Aaron Rodgers. I'm rooting for Atlanta to win it all this year, but as good as there up and coming rookie stars on D are, Rodgers will find a way to exploit them when it matters most. Just like Prescott last week, Ryan loses despite playing phenomenally. 27-16 NE: Big Ben' road woes continue as he is unable to really carry the team back as they trail most of the game. I still think he is banged up as well. Another strong performance by Bell is the only way Pittsburgh gets any sort of momentum. Brady has a game manager type performance effective and makes no mistakes, but doesn't put up very gaudy numbers. Blount provides most of the scoring for the Pats this week. However, like last week I am hoping for the upset.
  5. I totally agree. It's a guilty pleasure. It's funny, literally every Seahawks fan that I personally know is a huge tool. Both in how they watch football and just generally in their everyday lives. Interesting stuff for sure.
  6. I felt the exact same way. I was really hoping we didn't draft Tkachuk. Looks like I was wrong (luckily I'm not a scout). OJ still looks like he should develop into an impact Dman though, so I am happy.
  7. Isn't everyone in this thread trying just trying to show other people how smart they are though? "See I knew Jake sucked" - Jake doesn't improve - "See?" "No you have to be more patient! He will be great" - Jake shows improvement - "See?" That's basically a summation of 90% of the posts in this thread the past year. Everyone on both sides of the argument are trying to show other people how smart they are. That's the only point in even trying to make proclamations about things like the future that we can't possibly know.
  8. People can have a grand "let's wait and see" approach to how Jake develops and still be disappointed with how he has progressed thus far. The two thoughts are not mutually exclusive.
  9. Since when did the LA Dodgers play football?
  10. Really good tune. Co-produced by Dillon Francis as well. Insomnia will be a pass for me. Definitely isn't a bad line-up though. I'm personally sick of Hardwell, and while I love Laidback Luke I have seen him 4 times in the past 3 years. Ookay would be cool, but isn't a huge draw for me.
  11. Ah... there it is. Whoops! I don't often wear my rose coloured glasses but yikes. Still can't believe they made it this year. They are not a good team. Pittsburgh proved that.
  12. But if I recall before the 2015 season I said that the Dolphins would make the playoffs that year, so...
  13. 37-34 Packers Cowboys are a solid team, but are young and not as good as their record indicates. Game is a shootout. Dallas' rookies both have solid performances in the loss, but are unable to put the game away. Rodgers experience is the difference maker as he orchestrates a game winning 4th quarter drive. 27-16 Falcons Seahawks are a different team away from home, the offence especially. Losses to Rams, Saints, Bucs and a whooping by GB on the road this year. Rawls and Wilson continue their trends of game to game inconsistency and struggle. Seattle's run game get's very little going. Atlanta's offence overpowers Seattle's D thanks to a well rounded attack. 20-14 Chiefs I just have a gut feeling on this one. I think Big Ben is more hurt than he's letting on. Bell has a strong game on the ground, but Pittsburgh falls behind late and Ben can't bring them back. 37-10 Patriots Game is never even close. Savage is unable to play, and Osweiler gifts the Patriots great field position several times early on as he is unable to orchestrate anything offensively. Brady takes advantage. While unlikely I am really hoping the Texans pull off the upset though.
  14. I have very little reservations about saying this now: Horvat is the best player on the Vancouver Canucks. This is his team now.
  15. Bye Chip Kelly. I never wanted you here in the first place.
  16. Dolphins shock everyone and win it all
  17. Mariota is one of my favourite QBs in the game, and I hope that he comes back next season without feeling any ill-effects of that injury. If he does the Titans will be looking good. They have definitely been making the right moves. Add a solid corner and a dynamic WR in the first round of the draft this year (that top 5 pick from LA will definitely be a huge boost) and you guys should be the team to beat in the division next year. I've been cheering for my Niners to lose all year, if it weren't for the bloody Rams sucking so bad we'd be looking at the 1st overall pick this year. Luckily we should still get a shot at either Kizer or Trubinsky round 1, or maybe even Watson in round 2. But the Niners are truly devoid of talent and I'm excited (yet worried) to see how the next few drafts re-shape the team. Part of me is still in disbelief that the Dolphins might actually squeeze in to the playoffs. It took me until just a few weeks ago to start wanting them to win their games. But we have an inconsistent run game, bottom 10 passing offence, and a D that has allowed more yards per game than any team that isn't the Browns or Niners. We haven't beaten a good team all year with the exception of the Steelers who were struggling badly at the time. If we get in we would arguably be the worst playoff team in the past few years. But hey, might as well cheer for them while I can, lord knows I haven't been able to do that for a while.
  18. A&B, Illenium, and Galantis are all in my top 10, so I love it. I've also wanted to see Alan Walker and have always been curious about seeing Excision (thought it was mostly for the stage/sound system that I'm sure won't be at Seasons). Kungs should be good as well. Agree with you on Metro Boomin and Troyboi though, kind of weak for that tier of headliners. But there is usually another big name or two added after the first announcement. But I'm actually pretty stoked for this. Can't remember the last time I was actually excited for a large event in Vancouver.
  19. I still have no reason to believe Gaunce won't be a 4th line player at least. It's becoming a bit more apparent that he might not have the offensive skill to be a 3rd liner, but he's smart, defensively sound and a very hard worker. If he get's a bit stronger (and he should be able to) he'll be able to carve out a decent career.
  20. Mila Kunis will forever and always be my girl.
  21. Mike Evans is easily one of my favourite players. Guy is a monster. Actually asked for his jersey for Christmas despite being a Niners/Dolphins fan.
  22. It was a clean hit. Gronk himself said it was a clean hit.
  23. Sony sucks but I mean hey, if I got refunded for No Man's Sky just because it sucked so bad then I'd have to say there's a chance.
