  1. I've heard that, it's a bit the other way from where I live though. I should also mention that I'd like a 24 hour place as my school/work schedule is going to be wack for 6 months. My biggest peeve about Club 16 was it's 5pm close on weekends.
  2. My gym membership at Club 16 is running out pretty soon, and I don't really have a desire to go back. Was a good gym for what I needed when I first started going due to it's low cost, but it is a bit too small and lacks some equipment that I would like to try out. Anyone have any recommendations for gyms in the Coquitlam area?
  3. We should have let him. It was a foolish and short-sighted signing from day 1, his terrible season this year has further exacerbated that.
  4. Their last good song was Don't Let Me Down, and even that became awful because of how overplayed it got. Everything since then has just been absolute trash.
  5. Nestor Acevedo out of Adrenaline.
  6. I actually booked my consultation with Nestor! Have an appointment in a couple weeks.
  7. The only good way for them to do that is to get him where it hurts. His pocketbooks. That means not buying tickets to the games. The players and staff are caught in the middle and there's very little fans could do to hurt Davis that won't hurt them as well. It is unfortunate, but that is the reality of the situation.
  8. If Goldobin is actually healthy then that is unbelievably moronic. Willie makes some bad lineup decisions, but I'm not sure even he would play Biega over a healthy Goldobin... right?
  9. Had already bought my tickets before the lineup announcement. USC always comes out with a good one for Diso. They delivered again this year.
  10. The top 10 guys I want the Canucks to draft: 1. Patrick 2. Hischier 3. Vilardi 4. Mittlestadt 5. Petterson 6. Liljegren 7. Valimaki 8. Necas 9. Glass 10. Tolvanen Not a fan of Tippett or Rasmussen (well Rasmussen is good, I just don't see him fitting in our future core, he's more of a middle-6 project). If we somehow fall closer to 10th, I also wouldn't be opposed to taking Makar or Kostin, but would prefer one of the other guys. If we get a pick in the 2nd half of the 1st round via a trade, I would love for us to pick up a big bodied winger in Popaguev or Vesalianen, or one of the smaller skilled forwards in Yamamoto or Suzuki. All 4 have super high ceilings IMO. 2nd round hoping for Boqvist, Mattheos, Ratcliffe, Jokiharju, or Brannstrom. All of them might be gone by the time we get our pick though.
  11. Dyslexic and dysgraphic, not autistic. Big difference.
  12. I'd say Samsonov is about on par with Shestyorkin. I don't really know enough about Sorokin other than his stats are ridiculously good. A lot of scouts are almost just as high on him as they are the other 2 Russians though, and he was goalie of the year in the KHL last year, so I'd have to be inclined to say he's a solid prospect. As far as mixing Demko in there, I'd have to put him behind all 3, but I'd say they're all in their own grouping of elite goalie prospects along with some other guys like Parsons and Jarry. But like DeNiro said, pretty hard to compare across leagues when it comes to goalies.
  13. Shestyorkin. And that's no knock on Demko. Shestyorkin is just ridiculous.
  14. Uh... He likely won't ever play in the AHL again after this season.
  15. That one is retired too! I saw one picture of him wearing 23 with the US as well, so that could be a possibility.
  16. Boombox Cartel last night could have been the best club show I have been to in Vancouver. They absolutely crushed it.
  17. He's basically putting the burden of the loss on Tryamkin for not going after Marchand, which is ridiculous no matter how you spin it. It was probably meant more as a testament to how well Marchand played, but still as a coach you don't say crap like that on a player who by all means has played great hockey the past few games. If Willie had said "if someone had gone after Marchand like Tryamkin went after Benn we could have won that game", then that would have been fair comment, but to call Tree out on it when that isn't even the way the kid plays his game is moronic. If you're going to say something than throw the kid a compliment, don't throw him under the bus.
  18. Regardless of the context, it is an absolutely moronic thing for a coach to say in the first place.
  19. Sounds like they're probably in. They would need a lot of games to all go wrong.
  20. I used the "Search Google for Image" function on that picture and all I got were links for "From fat to fit 12 week transformation" programs. Dude had muscle, but he was definitely a chunker too.
  21. I'm not really going to get into it too much, but do people really think a professional athlete going out and partying every weekend isn't a bit concerning? I mean hey, I go out and party every week, but I know it takes a tremendous toll on my body. Back when I was playing hockey I was not as effective of a player at 20 as I was when I was 18 because I had bogged my body down with so much liquor. I lost a lot of speed on the ice and arguably lost strength despite being older and closer to my physical prime. I'm not going to judge anyone personally on their choice to go out and cruising for booze n' broads at every given chance, because that would be hypocritical. But it 100% is not good for the body, and it could be a significant hinderance to the body of a professional athlete. When your livelihood is based around the need for your body to be in peak physical condition, I would have to say that is not an ideal choice to make. Hopefully the beginning of this season served as a wake up call of sorts for Jake. He has been playing a lot better hockey as of late, and I think part of that should easily be attributed to him simply being in better shape. The Canucks need to ensure that he is committed to maintaining his conditioning over the summer so next year he comes to camp ready to go at the top of his game.
  22. Those tweets are much ado about nothing. I despise the Maple Leafs. If they drafted me and offered me a contract they would be my favourite team in the league. What he said as a young teen and hockey fan almost certainly holds no bearing as how he feels currently as a potential professional hockey player.
