TmanVan
This actually makes a lot of sense. If Luo was to start tonight and lose the game the whole city would be calling for his head and want him out of town as soon as possible. If Schneider starts tonight and wins, it either increases his trade value, or gives the canucks full confidence they can go with Schneider next year. If Schneider loses though, Luongo won't shoulder 100% of the blame for losing the series and calms down some of the Luongo haters. Sounds like a good choice all around. van_ws
Great move... we will see what happens tonight. Hopefully the team can turn it around. Schneider can give them a chance to win but as well, it is up to the players in front of him (i.e. Kesler, Edler, Hank, Booth, etc.) to really bring it in the next level. The best players absolutely have to be excellent in order to win.
Yay
It's simple guys, the Canucks have literally just played better with Schneider for some reason. Need to win don't need to worry about feelings and Luo knows this.

Luongo
The thing is, I don't really see why we shouldn't start Schneider. Yes, Luongo has played well, but it's not like he's been terrific. I don't feel that we're stepping down in terms of quality of goaltending, and in fact, at this point, I feel Schneider is a better goaltender than Luongo, though very inexperienced. This isn't exactly vindication of the teams play, because we have been sloppy in the defensive zone and our special teams play has defined the series up to this point. I know Luongo supporters will make it all about Luongo "haters", but it may just be just the general direction the organization is choosing to move forward in regards to Luongo vs. Schneider. As a fan, you can either choose to support this team, or shut the hell up. Nothing you say in regards to Luongo or Schneider is doing anyone any good, and is counter-productive to the role of the fan; to support your team. The Hornet
Well, I dont think they need to start Cory... Lu has been playing great. But if it makes the team in front of the goalie play better, then I'm all for it.

Raiun
This is a good move. The last two games haven't exactly been entirely Lu's fault, but let's face it, he should have solid enough to stop some of those goals, regardless of the defensive problems in front of him. He hasn't stolen us a game, yet. Besides, this move is likely not really about him anyways, it's just mixing things up a bit more, trying to light a fire under the players butts. I believe Schneider is capable of stealing us a game, and maybe we need him to do that tonight. Or maybe this move will be the inspiration our players need to bring their A game. r.luongo01
Luongo has a 0.891 save % in playoffs, good for 16/17 out of all goaltenders. How has he been great?

Hank's Secret Sauce
He also made like 1 or 2 big saves but every other quality chance was in the back of the net...not enough from what his supporters consider an "elite" goalie I'm sorry but he was not elite in game 2. I've already said a few times he was pretty damn good in game 1 so I'm not arguing that. You can easily spot the blind Luongo homers because they are super negative about Schneider starting and calling for a loss because they are gigantic homers. No matter how much I like Schneider more than Lou, I'm not on this message board going "starting Luongo is a big mistake, he's a proven playoff choker we will lose..quote me" etc. Can't say the same for the blind Luongo homers.
