Ilya Mikheyev
Watching Kesler this series makes me wish he was traded. I admit this post is probably a bit too soon after the loss and might be a bit delusional, but if anything Gillis needs to go out and get a coach that can fire up the team in important times and also has the ability to play a good matchup game (MacT?). Then maybe Gillis could make a couple of moves to make the team a little meaner and stronger. Kesler has all the tools to be a powerful forward, but his antics in game 1 and 2 and then the dive with Mitchell in game 3? Just downright embarassing. To CBJ: Ryan Kesler, Cory Schneider/Roberto Luongo, Raymond's rights To Vancouver: Rick Nash, Ryan Johansen/2nd overall pick (Grigo/Galchenyuk) To Nashville: Alex Edler, Chris Tanev, maybe another pick/prospect/piece To Vancouver: Shea Weber's rights I know those are two giant blockbusters and would likely never happen. But right now, the Canucks are in a funk of some kind and need some fresh legs and Weber and Nash are tough customers. Maybe a couple UFAs signed as well. Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Nash - Galchenyuk - Booth Higgins - Pahlsson - Hansen Malhotra - Lapierre - Tootoo/Asham/Prust + Kassian somewhere Ballard - Weber <-- Ballard looks great and this could be a Carle-Pronger or Seidenberg-Chara type pairing IMO. Best case scenario Ryan Suter would join Shea Weber and Dan Hamhuis.. Hamhuis - Bieksa Gragnani - Salo Alberts, Eminger Luongo Lack/Sanford/Cannata/Climie/etc It'll be an interesting off-season if the Canucks lose the next game. Pouria
We cannot do what philly did because we do not have a up and coming super star (Giroux). If we were to do something like this it would not turn out nearly as good in the first year at least. Maybe in a few years down the road it would be
Pouria
If Vancouver goes with a Philly-esque rebuild (I love it, that's going to be the talk of the summer due to Philly's success right now hah), the Sedin's HAVE to stay. Philly still had the luxury of Briere/Giroux/Hartnell staying with the team and we would still have the luxury of Sedin's/Burrows. The difference is not that far off. The change would have to happen with the other players: Kesler, Booth, Raymond, Edler. The problem is, who ins the league would actually be available that is the caliber of Schenn, van Reimsdyk, Couturier, Seguin, etc? There's not a whole lot. And what makes it even harder are NTCs, there is no way Kesler would waive his no trade to go to a place like NYI or Columbus.
Pouria
That isn't really philly style. Philly picks up youngins in Schenn, Voracek, Simmonds, and Coutirier (indirectly), while we get Backstrom, Laich, Brower? Not really all that simliar. It would be closer to something like: Luongo + For Huberdau, Gudbranson Sedins For Neiderreiter, Strome, 1st

Dr. Hockey
Hypothetical line making!!! My fav game!!! Forwards!!! How about Iginla and Joe Thornton and Max Pacioretty. I know they are both 7 mill cap hits, (and Max is 1.5) but that's why we have a capologist. Jumbo Joe- He must be hungry for a cup!!! I'm sure something can be worked out with San Jose after this many failed playoff years. But seriously Jerome with the twins would do a lot for them, teaching them about being tough and vicious leadership. And he is burning for a real shot at the cup!!! Max with Burrows and Maxim would be very interesting. Maybe it's French pride, but I have a feeling they could be a secret weapon. On D there is one guy I would love like all Canuck fans; Shea. Sedin Sedin Iginlia Kassian Kesler Thornton Higgins Pahlsson Hansen Burrows Lapierre Pacioretty Hamhuis Bieksa Salo Edler Weber Connaugton Scheids Lack Gone; MayRay Manny Ballard Luongo And get a coach who wants his foot on the pedal all the time. None of this 1-0 game, be patient, the process bullsh*t. The d should be more aggressive, not giving up our blueline. The forwards need to give more back side pressure and puck support. The pp is horrendous!!!!

JustJokinen!
If we can sign Weber or Suter it would be the best way to re-tool. Then maybe trade Edler for a big power forward.

Conscience
Ya, Im kinda thinking the same thing about the first 2, maybe Buffalo adds something to the Kesler deal and we then put it in the first deal. Weber isn't signed yet, so if nashville doesn't think they can sign him long term they move him.
Tangelos
Everyone except for the sedins will be up for grabs this season. Kesler would be the most shocking to go (his NTC doesnt kick in til next yr) but if we could get a return like the flyers got for richards then gmmg would have to consider it. Ultimately some retooling needs to be done so we dont end up like the sharks who have decided to stick with their core guys (look where that's got them). Paul Bissonnette
NYI is not trading their high draft pick, Tavares who is already a star and is only getting better, and Moulson who has lots of potential for two aging players and an unproven prospect. The original proposal was ridiculous enough, what makes you think TB will give us Hedman, Malone, AND their top 10 pick for Luongo and spare parts? Hedman is an upcoming star d-man, Malone a top 6 forward. And then you want to trade the top 10 pick as well for Foligno? I don't get it.
Pouria
If we don't win Round 1 or the cup this year, the Sedin Twins and Luongo have proven they can't win a Stanley Cup on the Vancouver Canucks. Obviously, we'd be sending the Twins to the Eastern Conference in any trade as well as Luongo. The Sedin Twins are two top line players that can get 80 points each and play a great cycle game. Every team in the East except Pittsburgh would be interested. Lu would get interest from New Jersey, Tampa, maybe Washington and the Florida Panthers. I'll give an example of what we'd have to get in return for the Twins for this to be "Philly-style": To WSH: Daniel Sedin + Henrik Sedin To VAN: Backstrom, Laich, Brouwer, 10th Overall and Schultz
