Edlerberry
Stupid, what if they get a lottery pick next year. It happened to Philadelphia a few years back.
avelanch
if I was lou I would make sure to acquire a 2014 first round draft pick via a trade and then inform the nhl that 2014 will be the year they give up a draft pick. 2013 is going to be a huge draft so you will not want to give up that pick, and you might as well cut your losses by acquiring another team's first round pick. I'm still a little surprised they didn't choose this year to give it up, but maybe he didn't want to sacrifice a 1st until he has a replacement pick. Ghostsof1915
Given the scouts New Jersey has they will probably find some late round gems. New Jersey has some of the best scouts in the business.
PlayStation
That just sucks. Go to the finals, and then forced to get the 29th pick. That just sucks.
Lonny_Bohonos_14
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger NJD had until 5pm Tue to decide on forfeiture of 1st round pick (Kovalchuk discipline). They opted not to forfeit and will hold the pick.
