Lidstrom
Eklund is as reliable as herpes.
Mr. White
If Justin Schultz signs here his cap hit will be $3.8 million. The thing about Schultz is that money will not be the issue here. Every team that makes an offer on him will do so knowing it will have to absorb a $3.8 million salary cap hit next season - $925,000 in base salary and signing bonus, $850,000 in ‘A’ level bonuses (for achievements such as scoring 10 goals, 25 assists, 40 points, 0.49 points per game and others) and $2 million in ‘B’ level bonuses (for elite performance such as finishing among the top 10 defensemen in goals, assists, points or ice time or being a finalist for the Norris Trophy) – on a two-year deal. -http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/47786-Plenty-of-interest-in-pending-UFA-Justin-Schultz.html
Teksys
Ekslund isn't reliable at all but I do hope MG picks up Parise, or Suter etc.
Teksys
Also forgot about Schultz, don't much about the kid but there's a ton of hype surrounding him.
canuckelhead70
The Canucks extented my contract for being a fan of theirs. Terms and amount undisclosed. Looks like I'll retire a Canuck fan
Mike Vanderhoek
Simply put they are not renewing contracts of players they feel they are better without and could use an upgrade on. This also lowers the amount of contracts the team currently has which doesn't hurt either. Nothing about thses moves signifies that a big signing is coming. Tanev's Smirk
Wasn't he also saying something big was going to happen on draft day with Toronto?
keslerian one
Not extending Gragnani is a questionable decision. Thought he could've been deployed in offensive situations well. His fenwick and corsi numbers were not bad. We played him at the end of last season so he could be an RFA. MG said he qualified him. So Hodgson trade becomes Hodgson/Sulzer for Kassian. Kassian better turn out well.
Monty085
Well something did. They (Toronto) drafted the #1 prospect in the draft (their opinion) with the 5th overall pick. So Eklund was. . . right? My god. Eklund was right!

canucksnihilist
better to have one upper player than a lot of lesser players eating up cap space. if they weren't going to play anyways...

L'Orange
Couldn't agree more. Besides my personal bias of Salo being a huge fave, it appears that he is really loved and appreciated by the players and organization. Im down with another season of silky defence, great first passes, and Salo-bombs making the opposition fearful.
