im not crazy about arnott at the 3rd line center for one reason and thats because kesler is gonna be getting the other teams best players night in and night out....pahlsson helped take the load off and i dont think arnott at age 37 can help kes out in that department but maybe he can

I agree with him^ that CHI overpays, but I honestly wouldn't consider giving Luongo to them if they didn't.

Chicago overpays in the lui deal, Doan probably wants more than $5 mil for the next two years, we dont need Arnott Lappy can step in on the third line, Ellis would be a good backup but we could probably sign him for $1 mil per saving $500 K of cap room, I like Eminger for depth

Agree with the previous comments regarding the Luongo to Chicago trade.

Doan will likely want more than $5 million per.

I'd be okay with Arnott being here for one year, mostly as a "just in case" Kesler isn't ready for the start of the season. I suspect he would also be valuable come playoff time. He'd probably want more than $2 million per, but I guess we'll see what the market-place brings him by way of contract offers.

Who/what did the Canucks get for Ballard and Raymond? What happened to Kassian, Ebbett, Volpatti and Pinizotto?

There looks like there's not a huge amount of "grit" in that line-up, or if it is, it's with guys you'd prefer didn't do a lot of fighting, or, it's in guys who won't be on the ice all that often to be able to do any fighting.

I think that would be a good trade for both ends, but I think we would have to sweeten the pot a little.

Even just adding a 2nd or 3rd rounder or a B list prospect.

Doan will probably want more than $5mil, unless he gets a longer term deal.

I only see us getting prospects back for Luongo, especially if we want to sign players like Doan and Arnott via FA first. Their combined salary will make it unlikely we could get a roster player back in any deal.
