Wouldn't work due to personal agendas of various people in charge.

What?  Vince McMahn grew the company by creating characters who were hilarious, more than they were actually good wrestlers.  Who running the company wouldn't want to make more money?

Vince almost killed the product going with too many funny characters in the early 90s, since then he's strayed far, far away from that style. Additionally, all of the best writers are no longer with the company at this point. Serious characters and serious wrestling has always drawn Vince a lot more money. Unfortunately, he's also stuck with keeping the WWE as the "Land of the Giants", and has released a lot of smaller guys who are probably more interesting.

What?  The Rock, Mankind, and Stone Cold were arguably the biggest stars of the ninties.  They were hilarious, but couldn't wrestle at all.  People flocked to see them, and the TV shows did extremely well because of them.  The shows were funny, because the characters were interesting and made people laugh.  It's not how big the guy is, it's whether he can act, be interesting, entertain, and be funny.  Every one watch knows it's scripted.  The fake competition is of zero value.

For example, Al Snow was nothing until he started parading around with "Head".  The characters of the nineties were funny.  And the company was extremely successful then.

Mr ALF, no wrestling fan wants to admit this but wrestling is slowly dying because things like UFC is coming up and UFC is the fastest growing sport right now. The thing about Wrestling everything has been done, and now in this era with UFC being there it will be tough for them to compete. Every-year they are going down in ratings, if this plummet continues in 4 years they will be screwed, another thing why do you think they are now going to Dubai because they know their faith in north america.

Wrestling is dying, no wrestling fan wants to admit this because they are simply nuts. Honestly, wrestling fans are like delusional they spend 3 hours on monday watching the worst garbage ever then somehow find ways to say it was okay. lol

1 more thing ask yourself in 4 years who will save wrestlemania? Right  now they rely on the legends, like taker the rock, stone cold, maybe goldberg in the future and after this they are toast.

Yup, I agree 100%.  Excellent post Desi.  My wife and I used watch the show back in the nineties just to laugh.  It was fun.  It's clearly dead now.

Stone Cold and Mankind have always been amazing in-ring talents...

Regardless, I wasn't referring to that era, I was referring to the 1993-1995 rosters, which were silly character oriented and by far the worst rosters in the company's history. The roster at the moment is more than strong enough to make the TV shows watchable but the constant involvement of the stars of the past has hindered the development of new talents. Imagine Bruno Sammartino or Hulk Hogan coming back and burying D-X, Austin, Rock, etc. would have killed the programming instantly.

Maybe these old guys come back for appearances now because the are needed for ratings, and for fans to come out?

The Boss got injured at live event. Referee injured her, who accidentally caught Sasha with a solid knee to the head. It's described as a freak accident where the ref and The Boss were supposed to have serious contact.

There is concern that Sasha might suffered a concussion but that hasn't been confirmed by WWE.

Cody says in his statement about his release that he was creatively frustrated and begged WWE to let him drop Stardust. He also takes shots at creative, saying one of the heads was too busy hitting on developmental divas, and other one was pretending to be Brian Gewitz. So he actually did want to come back as Cody Rhodes.
