Jericho's light up jacket costs that much. Crazy.

Quote

After Dean Ambrose destroyed Chris Jericho's light-up jacket on Monday Night RAW, Jericho was heard yelling that the jacket cost $15,000. It  turns out the jacket is much more expensive when one tries to purchase it online. At online retailer Jonathan A Logan the jacket will cost you ten thousand dollars more than what Jericho paid, with a price tag of $25,000. A replica retails for $400 at Famous Movie Jackets. Jericho started wearing the light-up jacket as part of his ring entrance back in 2012 when he returned to WWE after a two-year hiatus.

WWE has released The Brooklyn Brawler

Quote

I initially heard this last week when all the other announced WWE releases were going down, but since WWE did not (and still has not) publicly acknowledged it, I wanted to triple-check before PWInsider.com reported this - but we can confirm that last week, WWE released Steve Lombardi, 55, aka The Brooklyn Brawler and he is, after over 30 years, no longer with the company.

Lombardi has worked full-time in professional wrestling since at least the early 1980s, mostly as a preliminary wrestler for WWF, both under his given name or under different masked personas.  He was Kamala's handler Kim Chee in the late 1980s and in the early 1990s, performed as Doink the Clown during the time period WWF had multiple Doinks appearing, sometimes at the same time. Lombardi's biggest singles push as a wrestler came in 1989 when he was rechristened the Brooklyn Brawler and managed by Bobby Heenan in a feud with The Red Rooster, Terry Taylor.  He performed as MVP and Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz at times as well, doing a baseball-inspired character that never seemed to get out of the gate. In 1997, he won a Battle Royal in Madison Square Garden as a surprise, earning a WWF title match against Shawn Michaels in what was undoutedly his highest profile match in his home market, NYC. Although he continued to make sporadic appearances over the years on WWE TV (usually at events broadcast from NYC, where he was always a cult favorite), Lombardi had been a far more valuable asset to the company behind the scenes, where he worked his way up to overseeing and producing promos.  Lombardi was the person that every talent, upon trying out, had to cut promos for and his praise or criticism would factor greatly into whether the talent would get a bigger look from the company.

It should be interesting to see what Lombardi's next move is.

Just a hunch, but I'm predicting Rollins will be returning as a heel, with the roster lacking top heel main eventers and Cena, Orton, and possibly Bray all returning as babyfaces. They only have Owens and Jericho as "top" heels, and maybe Reigns or Styles, depending how their storyline plays out.

23 hours ago, the last outlaw said:

Adam Rose got arrested for domestic dispute. WWE has suspended him indefinitely.

I don't see much chance he comes back at all. Which looks infinitely worse when coupled with his family situation. Special needs children and all. Pretty depressing watching the court hearing he just had with his wife. Don't want to pretend to even begin understanding their situation.

Former WWE creative member Kevin Eck posted a blog about Hornswoggle being revealed Anonymous RAW GM. The idea was that after Hornswoggle was outed as GM, he'd truly reveal who he was. Hornswoggle would reveal his his name to be Lou Manfredini (the last name of one of the writers), he would speak with a W.C. Fields-like accent, chomp on cigars and refer to women as 'dames.'" Eventually, the idea was that Hornswoggle would become a heel authority figure with Vince even giving it the ok and green light. In the end it was decided that Hornswoggle didn't really work out that well as a heel authority character. According to Eck, one of reasons WWE went with Hornswoggle as Anonymous RAW GM is they felt botched the angle with him being Vince's illegitimate son.

Eck says he pitched for Kevin Nash to be Anonymous RAW GM, with the idea being that he had to keep his identify a secret because he was still under contract to TNA while he was serving as GM.

Backstage heat between HHH and Del Rio

Quote

Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio has been unhappy with his position in the company as he was told he would be given a main event push when he returned last year under a new deal. It appears most of Del Rio's issues start with Triple H, who has not been up on Del Rio as a person since he was brought back. Triple H recognizes Del Rio's in-ring value but has been rubbed the wrong way by him too many times and doesn't trust him. Triple H has reportedly talked with Vince McMahon about why Del Rio doesn't deserve a top spot on the card, warning him that Del Rio would just become more of a problem backstage once he gets what he wants. Triple H believes Del Rio should not be given any kind of special treatment, power or leverage.

There's been some concern among talents that Del Rio may leave. We noted this week via The Wrestling Observer that one idea discussed for Lucha Underground's Melissa Santos, if they could sign her, would be to put her with a re-packaged Del Rio as his personal ring announcer. The source who reported this Del Rio story to us last week sent a note after The Observer came out, saying they could be trying to get Del Rio to stay, or at least buttering him up, with a re-package and push. Another source said they wouldn't be surprised to see a Del Rio vs. Roman Reigns WWE World Heavyweight Title feud later this year. It's no secret Del Rio doesn't need the money, can get work elsewhere and does not tolerate a lot of politics and backstage mind games.

WWE is going to have a tournament for non-contract female wrestlers. Same format as Cruiserweight Classic. They have interest in few former TNA knockouts including Velvet Sky.

Quote

According to a report last week in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are plans for the WWE Network to host a tournament for non-contract female wrestlers looking to earn a spot at WWE's Performance Center. The tournament is said to be heavily backed up by Stephanie McMahon and Triple H and will follow the same format as the ongoing WWE Cruiserweight Classic. In a follow-up on this, one of the women being targeted for the show by WWE officials is Velvet Sky. WWE is interested in having a few former TNA Knockouts appear on the show and she is one of them. While nothing has been finalized, Velvet Sky is willing to be a part of the show if it gives her the opportunity to finally land a contract with WWE.

Conflicting reports about whether Lilian Garcia has been released. Lilian's father is having major complications with cancer and WWE approved her emergency leave of absence. Company officials went out of their way to help her be by his side and have been constantly checking in on things.

Another rumor is that she hasn't been released and WWE simply won't renew her deal once it's up, which Lilian said a couple times during interviews last year that her contract expires in 2017.
