n00bxQb
I think it would be more interesting if you used their first 2 picks in each draft (24 picks, enough to make a full 23-man roster) and had to make the team cap compliant for next season ($60M). Jägermeister
It wouldn't matter because CBJ would just ruin all of these guys development anyways.

canucklehead44
This is kind of a silly game. You can do this with any bad team (or even a good team) and make a power house. How about if Columbus selected the player that was taken right after the one they picked? This is interesting as they were likely ranked around the same and that high in the draft is pretty much a toss-up. 2000 - Raffi Torres (Klesla) 2001 - Tuomo Ruutu (Leclaire) 2002 - Kari Lehtonen (Nash) 2003 - Thomas Vanek (Zherdev) 2004 - Ladislav Smid (Picard) 2005 - Jack Skille (Brule) 2006 - Kyle Okposo (Brassard) 2007 - Zach Hamill (Voracek) 2008 - Colin Wilson (Filatov) 2009 - Jordan Schroeder (Moore) 2010 - Nino Niederreiter (Johansen) 2012 - Alex Galchenyuk (Murray) 2002 and 2005 are toss-ups. 2007 CBJ made a much better pick but Voracek isn't a star (although Hamill is a complete bust). The other picks are all worse (2009 onward is still too early) but none appear to be huge mistakes outside of Vanek. Smid is obviously much better than Picard but is far from being a star player. Atkinson Ruutu Vanek Torres Wilson Okposo Dorsett Johansen Skille Jackman Murray Boll Methot Smid Russell McQuaid Moore Savard Lehtonen Mason Spares: Clitsome, Johnson, Niederreiter
