dorrcoq
Those same "teams out of the playoffs" are still nhl conditioned and ready teams not some local Pee wee teams. What some people don't understand is that teams like Colorado and Columbus are the same teams that have been giving Chicago and Anaheim a hard time lately. At the end of the day their still elite teams with some of the worlds best players and no matter what team their playing for we shouldn't take that for granted because next season we won't have that luxury. CanucksSayEh
Danny needs to shoot, not just that, he needs to snipe. Rarely do we see him pick a corner with any authority these days, mostly weak shots that aren't really meant to go in, but generate rebounds/tips. MJDDawg
Backes pretty well made Hank his bitch last night. Dank was invisible in a playoff style game...again.
AndyMcDonaldsNeck
We still have to play Duncan Kieth and his flying elbows. Hope no one get's hurt.

aGENT
We are still too soft, not sure wtf Gillis is doing, he's had years to fix our toughness problem. Took our guys forever to back up Kassian when he got jumped by like 5 preds.
Erik Karlsson
Because big, tough guys who can play in your top 6 grow on trees? Not only that but other teams practically give them away for free Gillis has been addressing it by getting guys like Kassian, finding (and re-signing) Higgins, drafting Gaunce etc. But to expect him to pick up a couple Lucic's for nothing every year is a bit delusional don't you think? aGENT
I believe Gillis was pushing hard for Ott and Clowe. Again, even 3rd line guys with a decent mix of skill and toughness are not grown on trees. They're tough to get and it looks like we were the bridesmaid to NY's bride on Clowe. I don't think the Sabres were willing to part with Ott for anything resembling a reasonable price. IMO Torres was not the answer. He's either a risk if he plays his game or he's neutered if he plays within the bounds of his increased scrutiny. He's also IMO not really an upgrade on guys we already have (Lappierre, Alberts, Kassian, Booth etc) There's 29 other GM's trying to do basically the same thing.. get or retain the best players they can. There's a limited amount of players with that given skillset. It's not like Gillis can just make one of these guys appear on our roster with magic dust and unicorn horns... Blue & Green
This, twins are getting abused every time we play a physical team. Only a matter of time before one of them gets injured again. Anyone see Backes destroy our whole team in the third and then hit Hank a bunch of times near the boards for no reason? If that was any other team they would have made Backes pay. No way he does that to Crosby or Stamkos etc. We have Sestito for a reason, but of course AV decides to sit him in a game where he would actually be useful. We better not be a 3 line team in the playoffs. We are still too soft, not sure wtf Gillis is doing, he's had years to fix our toughness problem. Took our guys forever to back up Kassian when he got jumped by like 5 preds. Alberts needs to stay in the lineup. Even if we beat LA or St Lous in a series we'd be too beat up to win the cup afterwards imo.
komodo1970
The Sedins are still great players, they just can't do it all themselves. With a strong team supporting them, they are most definitely capable of leading the way.
aGENT
Yup, Kass or Ses should have been put on the Sedin line for a shift or 2 to make Backes pay!

Blue & Green
Don't even need to do that. Just send out your 3rd/4th line against some of their stars and remind them to take some liberties if given the opportunity.
enterin
Yup, Kass or Ses should have been put on the Sedin line for a shift or 2 to make Backes pay! Must admit, I was not a Ballard fan until last night, really liked his game against the Blues. Must admit, I was an AV fan but am getting more disillusioned with his leadership in letting the abuse of his star players go on without retribution. aGENT
No, I would rather stand up to the bullies than become one of the bullies.
Blue & Green
They go after your stars, you go after theirs. That's how it works. If one of their "bullies" is a star you get your way. If he's some 3rd/4th line scrub what's the point of going after him?
MJDDawg
Disagree, punish the offender, not the innocent. Going after stars knocks out stars and leaves the bullies to continue to bully our stars.
canuckelhead70
and they are doing all this without Kassian on the first line. More reason to not have Kassian on our top line, seeing how he is most certainly not a top 3 player
alt kilgore
Glad to see teh Sedins get more production but will wait to see how they fair in the playoffs. Biggest concern is the D-zone coverage. They don't seem to have an answer for an aggressive forecheck as we saw last night in teh 2nd period and have seen so often this year. Looks like a fire drill out there and they are giving up grade A opportunities. Against teams with talented finishers (Chicago) and strong board/forecheck games (LA) it could get ugly quick.
