Nicklas Bo Hunter
To Van: Stefan Elliott or Duncan Siemens (Vans choice) To Col: rights to Chris Tanev Only if van can't reach a deal with Tanev. Hamuis Bieksa Edler Elliott Garrison Corrado or Hamuis Bieksa Edler Corrado Siemens Garrison thoughts? would more need to be added and on which side? who would you want van to take? D.Doughty
I would do Siemens for Tanev anyday of the week. Siemens way better all around defencemen with a high potential. On a side note, if you get Siemens, we should also try for Semin, Finger, and Clitsome
Phil_314
Both sound like solid choices to me. Siemens adds lots of toughness and can be a regular on the bottom pairing for now due to his physicality and ability to move the puck (though that part of his game's less developed), whereas Stefan Elliott sounds like another Corrado, in that both can move the puck and make safe plays but both are undersized. Given the current state of the defense I would want Siemens slightly more than Elliott just because of the snarl he brings to the bottom pairing, but I wouldn't be disappointed if we got Elliott even though it sounds more like a lateral move. Tangelos
Siemens hasn't exactly been lighting it up in the minors so I'd go with the guy who has actually played in the NHL. Plus Elliott went to my high school and his brother goes to SFU
Zoolander
I'd take Elliot...I don't care if he's not physical, he can work on adding muscle and puck control I really like Tanev but the longer these contract negotiations drag out the more I realize how replaceable he is
Pears
Siemens for me. I like the proposal overall since it would be a good swap for both teams and Siemens is more of what we need. He's projected to be a physical top pair defenseman which would be perfect for us.
Nicklas Bo Hunter
I would go for seimens to replace tanev personally. Tanev wasn't the most offensive guy so replacing him with Elliot who is all about offense is less appealing than seimens who plays more of a round game. However I would love to have either one. Both great player just not working out in col.
Wiznac
I dont think they would do the deal for Seimens ... Hes a higher pick with higher potential... They are expecting big things from him this year
